Need some willpower

I need some help and some willpower. I am just 3dpo and all I can think about sometimes is going to poas. This is my first cyccle on the injectables so I'm more anxious than sometimes, but I could buy a nice piece of jewelry with all the money I've spent on 's in the last couple of years. Some cycles its no problem, but this time around I'm going nuts wanting to know. How do you ladies keep from doing it when you know you're obsessed and its way too early?

It's definitely too early to even be thinking about it. 3dpo you might just be implanting. I'd say wait until you are least 10dpo which is another week from now. I can understand wanting to know and having such high hopes but you don't want to crush your hopes with a false result. Stay patient and keep busy, that'll help.

Oh, the 2ww is the worst!! And I also totally understand the urgency when you've done an injectible cycle. When we're going through all of this stress, pain, exhaustion, and effort, we want to know if it worked!

Like the other ladies said, it's WAY too early at 3dpo. Definitely don't start testing until 10dpo at the earliest (and even then you only have a 50% chance of it detecting the HCG). Best of luck to you and I hope it's your month!!

So hard to wait!

I, too, could have purchased quite a few things with the money spent on hpts. It's so frustrating, but if you think about it...testing early gives you a BFN and that can be depressing. I wish you the best & my best advice is to keep busy - go out to dinner (with the money you would've spent on the test). Buy a book to read (with the money you would've spent on the test). You get the idea...use the money you would've spent to do something that will keep you busy!

Keep us posted!

Thank you ladies for the advice and encouragement. I've gotten Ken Follett's new book and that is great for keeping busy. I went in for progesterone levels this morning. I have a hpt and have promised myself that I will not use it before next Mon. which will be 9dpo. My beta is scheduled for Wed. so I figure that Monday is an OK goal. In the meantime that book is by my bed and I've been reading a few pages in the morning and it has helped so far. Thanks again for the advice.

i am glad that you put the HPT down. I know that when i am going crazy thru the 2ww, i find new projects or things that i hadn't finished. like cleaning out my closet. Go for a nature walk or do anything that i can to stay out of the bathroom so I wont POAS.

Good luck on monday, but realize that 9 dp is still really early!

I know its early, but I'm not the type to get discouraged by a BFN at that time. I figure that I'm going to be waiting for the beta anyway, but if I do the test then I won't be tempted to do any others until I hear about the beta. My RE's office is great about results so I'll hear by 4:00 on Wed. They have even called by noon before with the E2 results to figure out meds.

Oh the 2ww is horrible. I'm 7dpo and I would love to test but only to see a BFP. I took atleast one test a month for the 1st 8 months we tried and then I stopped. I just couldn't take the BFN anymore. I always felt sick to my stomach watching that one line come up. I am in a wedding a week from today and I will be 14dpo that day if AF isn't here first. If I don't have it by then, I'll test because we will be drinking at the wedding. My LP is never that long and I'm sure AF will be here by Wed. Sorry I'm not much help, I try to keep myself busy during the 2ww. Best of luck, hope to see your BFP.

Just be careful with testing 9dpo since you did the HCG shot. That can produce a false positive if it's too early and it's still in your system. I think wannabigbabybelly experienced that this month. It did turn out to be a BFP for her after all, but initially it came up BFP and it was just the trigger shot. Typically, the trigger shot should be out of your system by 10dpo. Best of luck to you and I hope you get your BFP this month!!
