I am worried

Well, nurse never called back yesterday with my progesterone results and showed up this morning. I know a lot of girls on progesterone said they didn't get their periods until they went off of it so that worries me that again its not working for me for some reason. I am not sure when i ovulated b/c of my funky opks but i think I am 12 dpo... I usually get AF 12 dpo but I typically spot heavily from 9-10 days dpo. I didn't have the spotting this time so I am hoping that might mean that the suppositories worked a little or something?? I need to hang on to some hope because its going to be a blow if this didn't work again. Anyone on suppositories get AF on them?

Did you spot while trying for baby #1 and 2? My friend spots starting on day 17 and continues until her period. She got her P4 levels yesterday and they were 18 (good). Why can't this be eaiser and the female body be less complicated? Are you planning to call the docs office again today? I would stay on them to get the results. Best of luck I hope someone responds with some info that will help you.

I started AF with the suppositories and when I had my invitro I started AF even with progesterone shots. My RE said that can happen and not to be concerned.

I can't speak much from experience on this one. I was never on progesterone until my IVF and I didn't make it to transfer and AF showed up right on time. I didn't have any spotting prior to. However, with my first miscarriage I spotted even while being on oral progesterone suppliments. Don't lose hope, there is still plenty of fight left in you.

hi

Thanks guys. When i got pregnant the other times i had long cycles and longer luteal phases so this stuff was not an issue then. I had spotting during the first half of both of my pregnancies but they gave me a bunch of different reasons to explain it so i am not sure what it meant. I am just trying to hold onto some hope that the fact that i didn't spot as normal from day 9-10 on might be a sign that it had some effect at least.... my LP was 11 days this time, which i know is still kind of short.....i know some docs say 10 is too short and some say 12. I guess the prog number will make it all clear but I can't find out until tomorrow. More waiting....

Why do you have to wait until tomorrow? It really doesn't take that long for the lab to get the results done. Sometimes I really do wonder why we are stuck waiting for so many different things! A LP of 11 days is good. They want that to be over 10. Between 10-12 is considered normal.

hi

I have to wait b/c the nurse gave my chart to the doctor to go over and she is out today so if she didn't call back last night it means he didn't go over it yet and so there is no point in calling. I assume she'll call tomorrow morning. I'm a little scared to talk to her now...

I am glad 11 is considered ok for LP...I am not 100% sure of that number b/c i don't know for sure which day i ovulated since my opks were totally weird this time...but based on my cramping and stuff i think it was 11. I guess I just had thought it might be longer this time because of the progesterone. I don't know what the normal dose is they usually give you but I know that the nurse did say they might need to adjust the dose and i did start with the lowest so hopefully that is all that is needed....

I don't know what the normal dose would be either. As I mentioned I was never put on it until my IVF cycle. Never for my IUIs. I didn't even have blood work done (other than my thyroid workup) until our IVF cycle - strange huh? I don't know if the progesterone will elongate your cycles or not. I know sometimes clomid can help in regulating your cycle but I don't know how they extend your lp.

hi

I have been doing a lot of reading and apparently there is a new theory about LPD which is that it is caused by something earlier in your cycle to do with the eggs and that low progesterone is a symptom not the cause of the problem..... those doctors think clomid is the way to treat it. Mine however still goes with the old progesterone based approach. I don't really think they know either way. My friend had 2 miscarriages from LPD and had a sucessful pregnancy on progesterone though so I am willing to give it a shot. If I find out it raised my level at all I guess I will find out... I'm a bit scared to get pregnant and have another miscarriage though if my doc is wrong about this... hopefully he's not.

Hopefully they'll call you early this morning and talk to you about your levels. Feel free to voice any concern you may have with them. It's better to put it all out on the table and let them know how much it means to you. We seem sometimes to have to educate ourselves for fear of not really knowing enough to form decisions to our own care. I know I took charge with my IVF cycle and with both pregnancies early on.
