Hi, just checking the board and saw the last two notes. Please go to asherman's.org. You can register to be a part of their group and have access to all the data they have collected. It's amazing. You will get tons of support from them and learn a lot. They have lists of doctors that they rec. and those they don't worldwide. The website was a lifesaver for me.
If I can help please feel free to email me at alleykag@yahoo.com or pm me here. There is help out there and things that can be done. This is just one of those cases where you have to do your homework so as not to causee more harm to your uterus. Good luck.

Pregnant with Asherman's

You asked about pregnancy with Asherman's....well, here I am, albeit this is the last place I want to be because of the Asherman's. I had already gone through quite a bit with two failed pregnancies. After the second one, my ob recommended that we not try again until we had visited an RE. We each did our workup about 2 months ago. I found out that I have hypothyroidism because of Hashimotos, have red/white blood cells present in the prolactin from my right breast....and, after a hysteroscopy one month ago, was told that I have moderate-to-severe Asherman's covering 35% of my uterus. I scheduled surgery for October 29 and went to my pre-op this past week. When my AF was a few hours late last week, I absentmindedly decided to take a test, thinking that nothing would come of it other than a wasted test and maybe some peace of mind for the little, tiny nag I had in the back of my mind. All color drained from my face when the test went double-lined and I was staring a BFP in the face!!!! My RE who was to do the surgery will now instead follow me closely with a whole lot of labs first to make sure my hCG and progesterone keep climbing and then maybe an ultrasound on Friday. I also told my ob's nurse and when she asked if I had any more questions for the ob, I said, "Yes, could you please ask her to give me a script for Zanax or Prozac?"
It has been really hard to find information online about pregnancy with Asherman's. So, when this string came up, I immediately joined the site just so I could post.
I am kicking myself that I wasn't more careful with protection that one time!!! However, I can't live in the past and will have to just keep hopeful that something, somehow will work out. Keep us in your thoughts please!

thin lining

what did you take to help your lining?

I'm sorry to read about the difficulties, but I appreciate you sharing. I have been also having uterine issues. For 2 years I kept complaining to doctors about gut-wrenching cramps and heavy bleeding. Every doctor I saw during that time didn't think there was anything alarming going on with my uterus. I, too, felt blown off. I even took myself to hospital hoping someone would tell me something.

To make a long story short, I went through a surgery that revealed I had a leiomyoma the size of a grapefruit (behind my uterus), 6 small fibroids and 2 small adenomyomas. After surgery, a biopsy found my uterine lining to be normal, but doctor warned me that my uterus will never be normal.

I had another surgery to remove scar tissue in Jan 08 after my first IVF cycle. After the 2nd IVF cycle, the doctor described my uterine cavity as severly distorted and that I should consider a gestational carrier. Surrogacy is beyond my resources.

The first IVF cycle, my uterine lining only went to 6mm. With the 2nd IVF cycle, my uterine lining went to 7mm. I understand that is still not enough. Each time the pattern was only 2 layers on the ultrasound.

I cry...cry...cry.

Could you please tell me about the specialists you have found in your research? I am currently interviewing doctors around the country.

Thank you for the attention.
shasie

Has anyone ever been able to get pregnant even after being told that they should consider a gestational carrier?

My marriage counselor tells me she has known people with all kinds of shaped uteruses to get pregnant.
