TTC in Michigan

It sounds like there are several of us from MI. Post here where you are from.

I'll start...I am from the Howell/Brighton area but grew up in Okemos (east of Lansing). I currently work in Ann Arbor.

I was curious to know what RE's you were all also going through. Mine was Dr. Maximovich & Dr. Brinton in West Bloomfield... I would highly recommend their office and it was really great to work with them!

They are okay over there. Not my favorite, but with all the driving for b/w and u/s, I stay there.

OMG! I did not realize so many of us were from MI! I grew up in Dearborn Heights but I now live in Berkley. I myself also go (or went I should say) to Oakwood! I saw Dr. Magyer. I loved him! My friend has a 4 month old and she saw Dr. Hayes as well. She went through a lot of unsuccessful IUI cycles before conceiving with IVF. I was lucky enough to get a BFP after only 2 cycles with Menopur and BMS. My problems were not as severe as hers. Isn't the old lady that takes the blood great though?! She is so quick and it is never painful.

I am from MI too. I see Drs Dodds and Young at MI Reproductive in Kalamazoo. But most of the big stuff like IUI's and IVF have to be done at there Grand Rapids location. I was also told that they travel once a month to Traverse City. I have grown up in MI all my life we live right on the IN border. I actually work in IN.

They do not participate in my insurance. I went there first for my first IVF and I end up with a huge bill. For my 2nd try (FET) I decided to transfer RE that is covered by my insurance.

But honestly, I like Dr Abuzeid better. More thorough, I went through another round of blood work and tests so they have their own analysis.

Kalie, I think its so funny that we have different experiences with the same office. I call that old lady "the vampire"!!! I bruise when she takes my blood and love it when I am there on her day off!!!

missywojo - That certainly is funny! With my General Practioner, the girls always had a hard time and said that I had small veins. They poked and poked me and I always bruised. Now, at my OBGYN, same thing, I always bruise. But, with the "vampire" she somehow always got a vein right away and was so quick and I never bruised... how weird! I really liked Nurse Karen too, she was a lot nicer than Carlene (I think that was her name). Those were the 2 that always called me with my results, etc... Anyway, small world!

hello, I just began my IVF journey not too long ago. I Live in Shelby Township. I just began seeing Dr. Maria Hayes. I first went to Dr. Fakih for a consult, and OMG he is all over the place very inconsistent. Had no clue about my history, didn't explain anything to me. Just wanted to start meds without any testing, kept talking about things that didn't make sense. Almost had me do a procedre i did not need to do . Decided to see Dr. Hayes for second appinion. She seems really nice, very thorough.
