Ovidrel...??
Not sure this is the right place but was wondering if anyone here has injected Ovidrel?
Just curious about side effects and if it was painful.. should i do it in my stomach or my leg. The nurse showed me how to do it in my leg but had heard it was less painful in the stomach so.... Just any info on experiences with it would be awesome.. thanks!

Pleeeease let it work this time! 2ww begins 8/1: CD27 -  8/6: CD1 -  8/18: CD13 - 3 follies 8/22: CD17 - U/S to check growth. 9/8:CD1 9/24:CD17 U/S, Ovidrel injection 9/26:CD19 - First IUI. 10/7:CD30  !!! 10/8: Beta 28 10/10: Beta 63 10/14: Beta 411 10/16: Beta 1072 10/22: ULTRASOUND! 5 weeks, 5 days! Due date: June 19, 2009!

I did an Ovidrel injection with my last cycle and it wasn't bad at all. I did mine in my stomach since I have way more "padding" there than in my leg. I wouldn't say it hurt, but it felt a little weird since I had gotten used to the tiny tiny Follistim needles and the Ovidrel one is a little bigger. I don't image it would hurt any more than having blood drawn. I don't recall any side effects in addition to the ones I was already having from the Follistim. Good luck!

I did three IUI's and did Ovidrel as the trigger shot each time. I was nervous with the first one since the needle is bigger than the Follistim needle, but it wasn't that bad. I too did mine in my stomach. I think it is easier to do injections in your stomach. I did not have any side effects. Good luck and hoping you have a

I have done ovidrel for the past 6 cycles, no side effects except for no HPT until at least 10dpiui or you could get a false positive since it reads as the preg hormone. I always put it in my tummy.

I did the ovidrel with each cycle. At first I was nervous because it is bigger than the follistim but after doing the cetrotide and novarel.. Its no biggie any more. I am just nervous about the PIO shot...UUGHH...
I take it in my stomach as well, I have a small little pouch but thanks to the meds its getting bigger. I do this trick when I give myself the shots I breathe in thru my nose and out thru my mouth and then I push the needle in while I am breathing not even looking. Then after three breathes I look the needle is in and then I can start pushing the meds in, sometimes I dont even feel that I pushed it all the way in already. Then I do the same when I am pushing the plunger down. Just keep breathing in and out. Even if its stings keep breathing. It works for me...

I've always taken the shot in my outer thigh area. It doesn't hurt right away but it feels like a horse kicked me in the butt the next day!

Thanks guys...
I ended up having my DH inject it in my outer thigh.. it hurt going in but not at all afterwards. I've had some nausea (still..) that I think is from the shot but dunno for sure.. Just for a this month!! 9 days until I can test, i'm a nervous wreck!

Hi there!
I've always done it in the stomach and I don't have a ton of padding there but enough to pinch...but I also ice the area for a good 5 minutes before I inject so I dont feel a thing. I do that for all my shots... Glad yours went well!!

I've done mine in the stomach. Didn't hurt at all and no weird side effects for me.

Hi! I've done LOTS of Ovidrel and the only problem I've had is that the needles tend to be a bit dull. That's not to say that they hurt, but I'm always aware when they go in. My only side effect is that the next morning I feel like my boobs gained 10 pounds apiece overnight.

I did the Ovidrel for the first time this month and the shot wasn't bad, but I had a nasty headache for two days afterwards and I too feel like my boobs weigh ten lbs and are very sensitive. Only 8 more days till its outta my system and I can test.

I have had no real sideffects. Anyway hope you have a BFP. How is your lupus with all the fertility stuff?

I did the ovidrel shot for the first time last night. I did it in the tummy. I did find that the needle was very dull. Either that or my skin is like leather, It wouldnt hardly go in and once it did and I injected, i went to remove the needle and my skin pulled with it so very very dull. But other than that?! no problems. No side effets yet but only day after injection so we will see.
