Clomid and Follitism

I was just wondering if anyone had experience with Clomid and Follitism. I took Clomid 150 mg. CD3-7. My CD10 and CD13 ultrasound showed a few small follicles ranging from 11-13. My doctor just prescribed 75 mg. of Follitism for the next four days and then repeat u/s and b/w. Has anyone had a similar protocol? Not sure what to expect. I am just hoping this cycle works and we can go forward with our IUI.

My last cycle was a combined Clomid and Follistim cycle. I did 100mg of Clomid days 3-7 and then 75iu Follistim injections days 8-12 and 50iu on day 13 with the Ovidrel trigger on day 14. I think I had an ultrasound around day 10 and my follies were in the 10-14 range. I had another ultrasound on day 13 and they had shot up to the 18-22 range. We were still doing timed intercourse and were told to do it that night (day 13) and the night after the trigger (day 15) and it all worked out perfectly for us (so far!). Good luck to you!

I think I had a really quick response to the Follitism. I started it on CD13 and they think that I ovulated on CD16. If that is the case, then they grew from 11-13 to fully mature w/in a matter of two days. My doctor said that he has not seen that before. But it sounds like you have had a similar experience.

I had a positive OPK on Saturday, but my RE thought that it was too early so when I went in on Sunday for the u/s they could not find the follies anymore so they are guessing that I ovulated already. We went ahead with the IUI then, but I am afraid that maybe we missed it. My E2 was 1200 at that time so the RE on-call told me that he thought I ovulated at least two follies. We'll see. I am a bit frustrated, not to mention trying to battle a bladder infection since Sunday. Ugg

Just keep thinking postively. Even if you ovulated the day or so before your IUI, doesn't necessarily mean it won't work. Just keep believing in the possibility that it worked. I know it's hard to maintain the balance between thinking positively and getting your hopes too high, but it can be done Lots of luck!!

Thank you for the words of encouragement. I am trying to stay optimistic, but this has been a hard and strange cycle. I am a little emotionally and physically drained. My dh says it is understandable since I have what is akin to the hormones of 5 women raging though me. LOL

How is your pregnancy progressing?

Yeah, we all get a little whacked out from the hormones. I would easily get depressed and angry about things that would have otherwise just kinda irritated me. But in the end it was completely worth it

Everything is going great with me.. thanks for asking I thought I would be a wreck the whole pregnancy but once I got through the first few ultrasounds and then released to my OB, I was really able to relax and just enjoy being pregnant.. at least on the days I actually felt good.. which are finally starting to outnumber the bad days

Keep me updated! I'll be thinking about you

Question, did your nipples get sore from Follitism. Mine have been sore since this weekend when I maybe O'd. They are usually sore after I O, but they are super sore this month and I can only think it is the Follitism. I am also taking Progesterone suppositories, but I don't remember them being this sore last month.

Nope. They were really sore back in December when I was pregnant.. that's what prompted me to test. This go-round they have been a little more tender, but nothing major. Did you have a trigger shot? It could be from that if you had one. Or it might be from the progesterone.. maybe you're just having different side effects this cycle since it's a different combination of hormones. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful there.

Thanks. No trigger shot this time, and it is too early for me to get pregnancy symptoms. I guess it is just a SE from one of the medications. I also take Estrace, but I doubt it is from that since I have taken that before my IUI w/o any symptoms. I will be so glad when I don't have to take any of these hormones.
