What do you do if menopur isn't working?

Hi , I am new here. I am on my second round of menopur and I have pcos so they have to be careful with me. My follicles are not growing. Did anyone else have this? What do they do next? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear that Sapphire. I had a similar frustration last month when my second cycle with clomid failed to stimulate any significant follicle growth. That lost month was really hard.

You should talk to your RE about what the next step would be. My guess is that they'll try a different injectible.

Stay strong, your time will come. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Unhappy

I have PCOS too. This IUI has been very different b/c it is my first with Menopure too. Right after finally went away, I went for my ultrasound. They told me I had a cyst, so I had to take a round of birth control pills. They stopped the pills when I had a week of them left to take before my menses. I started the Femara-days 3-7, and the Menopure-I had to take it every night. Then I went back for my ultrasound, done my HCG shot, then IUI. The day after my IUI they started me on Prometrium. I am really afraid to ask what is next if this does not work.

Hey,
I also have PCOS and I have a blocked tube. So it cuts my numbers in half. So I wasn't developing a lot of follies. They added Menapur and my eggs got bigger faster and were all good sizes however there weren't any more then normal 2-3... So they took me off of it and raised my does of Follistim. The menapur didn't seem to do much and with the cost they didn't think I should continue it. Have you tried Follistim? It has been really good for me. I am a slow responder, but my eggs are usally a good size and I did get prego on the cycle with 150 of follistim. Anyway good luck... I know it is so tough to have to change things every month. The menapur was really tough for me because the shots burned and caused a huge red mark at the injection site. It felt like acid under my skin. If that was your 1st injectable don't think they are all that way. The follistim is a small needle, with NO burning and is very easy to use in the pen...

Hope this helps!
