Hello ladies...I am counting the days until I can start cycling again since my unsuccessful pregnancy this summer. My RE has me starting on the GonalF Pen - please tell me everything!

I took Follistim, which is pretty much the same thing. The only side effect I had was bloating. None of the crazy emotional or temperature stuff I had with Clomid.

I am on day 4 of follistim, and all I feel right now is some slight bloating and I feel a little sick right after the shot, but I think thats because I dont like doing it and I tense my stomach muscles up too much.

Some bloating and tenderness towards the end. Even with my IVF cycle when I was on a much higher dose I didn't notice major side effects. Besides the actual injection I thought it was much better than clomid.

Hello, I just did the Gonal pen this month, and I had my IUI on Sat. It wasn't bad, although I couldn't do it myself I had my hisband do it. It is quick, there are demos online. My stomach was a little sore in some of the injection sites, but it wasn't bad. The first one was the worst b/c I didn't know what to expect!

I just finished 11 days on Gonal-F (initially 112.5 daily then 150) and had no side effects, other than that I felt GREAT. Like really, really GOOD. I thought I might be moody or who knows what, but I felt great and very happy/positive. Gonal-F is WAY more fun than Clomid.

I used Gonal f (250) for my second IVF and felt great. My first was Menopur and Bravelle.............just about killed everyone around me...........good luck!

Hi Stacey,

I am new to the forum! Joined today! I have also just started using Gonal-F. Started on Monday at 150. Side effects so far were a very mild headache the first two days in the afternoon (the injections were the night before) and a little tiny bit of abdominal pain. I had my first u/s today and had 3 follicles on the right and one on the left.

I used the Gonal F pen...and had No side effects at all....got crazy bloated feeling about a day or two after the trigger shot...but I assume that is normal.

I have a history of migraines and anything I take or eat can trigger it.

I used Bravelle before and got a major migraine the day after the first injection.

For IVF, I used Gonal-f and Menopur and got the same migraine but worse (possibly due to higher dose for IVF) the day after the first injection. The symptoms I had are typical of a migraine: pounding headache on one side of your face, the need to vomit, tired, sick feeling. The worse feeling ever. I had mild headaches for the rest of stimming.

I had just completed my first cycle with Gonal-F. I felt really good. I was very positive and happy. This was a very different feeling from using Clomid previously. The only negative side to Gonal-F was that I felt a bit light headed. Otherwise, it was surprising good!

I was nervous to give myself a shot, but after doing it the first time, I felt like a pro! Good luck!

I just started Gonal F mixed with my Menopur this month. I am taking 150 of the Gonal and 75 of the Menopur. So far, it's working much better than my last cycle! See my siggie.....last month my E2 was never over 99 and this month it's already at 306. I'm so happy I could cry. Having a cycle cancelled from lack of growth is really devestating.

I will say, the side effects are MUCH worse this month than on the Menopur alone. I can actually feel my ovaries with every step....a bit crampy and swollen. Some discharge, too...sorry if that's TMI.

I'm new to this board and my RN has been on Gonal-f multi-dose. Can anyone give me advice on a cheap pharmacy? I've looked into Freedom Pharmacy and they are $385.50 a box and IVF Meds in Europe is $280. I want to use the Europe one but nervous about it getting held up in customs. Any advice would be greatly helpful.
