Looking for some hope - 30 yrs old, no period, starting injectables
Ok so I have tried to remain positive for so long, and now that I see all these success stories I would think it would make me feel better...but it doesn't. I just want to know if anyone has been in the same situation as me. My period stopped a year ago, I am 30 years old. I have been ttc for a year and a half now. I did 3 rounds of clomid, didn't work. Now I am starting injections, I did my first one last night. (that was a process in it self). Monday, Oct 19, I found out if the injections worked or if I have to use a donor. My question is, has anybody lost their period, did the injections and it worked? Its like I am living in a nightmare and I need to pinch myself, but when I stick myself with the needle I know its not a dream.

Researched donor eggs. Went on bc pills to give ovaries a break. July-Sept 09  Started Acupuncture. Oct 09- IUI#1 10/13 - Started Bravelle injections, if no progress only hope for me is donor eggs.   10/22 - 1 follicle, possibly 2 (left ovary)  10/26 - Trigger, 1 follicle 10/27 - IUI 11/9 -  Nov 09 - IUI#2 or IVF#1 11/11 - Start Bravelle - increased dosage IVF or IUI - depending on how many follicles are produced CANCELLED - No Follicles  11/20 - back on BC pills for 1 month Last edited by KeepingPositive : 10-14-2009 at 04:13 PM.

I have not had my period on my own for 2 years now. I have tried clomid and now I am trying Femara. I will know this week if it is making me ovulate. If Femara is not successful I will probably move to injectables. I have PCOS. I am not sure what POF is. I wish you all the best! I think the best thing I have learned is to stay positive and remember all the good things in life.

Married for 8 years TTC for 2 1/2 years Have not O on my own for 2 years 1-1-09 Diagnosed with PCOS 6-15-09 first round of clomid 8-15-09 met with Fertility Specialist 8-23-09 had HSG -VERY PAINFUL but everything is OK 9-1-09 Went on BC pills to help regulate me 10-7-09 1st day taking Femara CD 5-9 10-18-09 Met with RE for ultrasound and trigger shot. 3 follies measuring 22, 19 and 18  11-3-09 11-05-09 CD 1 11-09-09 Started femara days 5-9 11-19-09 2 follies measuring 23 and 26! 11-20-09 8:30 am IUI scheduled.

i haven't had a period in years that wasn't chemically induced(provera)...i am on my 2nd round of injectibles..tried clomid as well...first round of injectibles went a little too well and the cycle was canceled...there is always hope...good luck and i wish you well!

Good luck to you too Ryles! Its a comforting feeling I am not alone. I wish you the best of luck! If you get a chance, please let me know how it goes. Oh and POF = premature ovarian failure. Not sure what PCOS means.
Dylansmommy, thanks so much for your input! I, too took provera, I hated that stuff! Whew its a relief to know it still worked out for you! Gives me hope! Thank you again for your comments, its very comforting.

I just wanted to let you know i too haven't had periods in 3-4 years, that were not medically induced. clomid didn't work for me either, but repronex has I have gotten pregnant3 times but have also miscarried all three. I only write this to give you hope. I don't know much about bravell or what your dr knows based one your labs, but repronex has both LH and FSH if bravelle doesn't work maybe another med will. Good luck I will say a prayer for ya!

Thank you so much 7LMA7! Looks like I need all the prayers I can get. I went to the doctor this morning and it seems like I have to wait til thursday to get my answer. The shots are doing something but nothing significant yet. Thursday there will be more progress, my left ovary is a complete dud though. So it looks like I will be
for my right ovary. GO RIGHT OVARY!

I understand EXACTLY how you feel. I was diagnosed with POF 9 years ago. I have not had a cycle that was not medically induced. Please let me know how injections work for you. I'm taking estrace & prometrium right now. They have not found any follicles yet.

Me-30 POF & HIGH RA FACTOR (TESTING) DH-27 Perfect DS-12...DS-9...DSS-8 's Nyla, Abby, & Miriam...1 hamster PhoebeRound 1: Estrace, Provera, & Baby Aspirin Round 2: Estrace, Prometrium, & Baby Aspirin but FSH levels went down from 47.9 to 30.4. Still high but very good news!Round 3: Estrace, Prometrium, & Baby Aspirin started on her own while still taking meds...1st time in 9yrs. Waiting to talk to RE & get CD3 labs to find out if FSH levels dropped more.

Oh goodie! We can be in this together, how many days have you done the injections for? I went to the doctor today, there was something around my right ovary but nothing that looked like follicles yet. I have to wait another 3 more days. Today will be my 7th day on injections. I will keep my
for you.

I have PCOS, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, its where your ovaries have lots of cysts on them & causes your period to mess up or be non existant. I have to take provera to start my cycle, i hadn't had one in over a year w/o it. I did 3 rounds of clomid which didn't work & we started on injectables this cycle. Did an IUI on October 9th & am supposed to test tomorrow but just couldn't wait & took one today with a
!! So there is always hope. I go in tomorrow for blood work just to be positive! Good luck & lots of  to all!

I did the bravelle and got one egg, supposedly with a normal female on the medication I was on 3-4 eggs would be normal. But hey at least I have the one. Tomorrow is my IUI! I can't believe this is happening! When a month ago I was thinking my only chance was donor eggs.

Me - 29 yrs old, endo IV, low ovarian reserve, elevated FSH DH - 31 yrs old, no problems Together since 2000. No children TTC since 2006 Furrybabies, Minnie and Duke Oct.08- diagnosed with Endo stage IV via lap. Dec.08- 1st visit with RE/endo specialist, did all fertility testing including HSG and SA for DH. All clear with the exception of a elevated FSH. Jan.09 - RE is advising us to go directly to IVF. March 09 - RE gave us the ok to do a couple of rounds of fertility meds and IUI. March 2009 to Sept. 2009 - Saving money for IUI and IVF it is necessary. 10/09 # 1 IUI used femara, menopur injectables and HCG trigger.
