Is anxiety a Clomid side effect?

(Reposted from Clomid thread because there is not much traffic there)I am taking Clomid for the 2nd time this month - the first time was a few months ago. The dosge is up by 50mg (from 150 to 200). I don't remember any side effects the first time. This time I am having major anxiety and depression - about the IF and about everything else going on in the world (war, economy - housing/ gas crisis) - and it makes me question what I am doing and I am just freaking out.
Has this happened to anyone else/ Could this be from the Clomid? I only have one more day to take it (today's dose). If it is a side effect, will it end quickly?

Each time I've been on Clomid I've felt moody, anxious, depressed and out of control. My doctor even joked with me saying that Clomid causes you to feel a bit crazy and that you could use it as an excuse for any wrong doings. On my last cycle, I did injectibles with Bravelle. I felt great on Bravelle! I didn't have any adverse feelings. The Bravelle is much more expensive, but I only needed 7 shots to get two mature follicles. I still have enough left for another round.

God Bless and good luck to you.

Yes to all of the above. I had no control over my emotions and would have full blown anxiety attacks. I switched to Tamoxifen and then Follistim which finally worked for me. Good luck and know that it is all normal and has nothing to do with you. My Dh would say " You get a free pass at the crazies for now".

Clomid Effects

I am so glad to hear that someone else is experiencing the same things. I couldn't describe the feelings but you made sense. I feel like doom day and I've only been on the clomid for 4 days and I have strong anxiety and the feeling that I can't stop worrying about everything from my future, my money, life etc. Its stressful and I feel like I have no life. Thanks for making me feel normal

I too had much increased anxiety and panic attacks when my Clomid dose was increased. Even called the RE about it and they told me we want it to "kick" my hormones in gear! It also caused me to have migraine attacks as well. I suffer from anxiety anyway but it was so much worse when I was taking Clomid. Sorry for your symptoms but you are not alone in this!!

hopefull4 notify your doctor right away. Having vision changes are in the severe/ very dangerous side effects of Clomid. I had vision changes when I took Clomid, I didn't notify them of this side effects. I figured it was normal, it's not! I got a very long lecture from the RE. Don't finish the cycle unless they know of the vision changes, and they monitor you daily.
