Dear Ronda,

Please stay positive it's so incredibly important in terms of the hormones released and also trying to care for yourself. I definitely know where you are. I have tried to go there several times as well this cycle. I had a feeling this morning that I was going to ovulated before the HCG shot because my BBT dipped. So, I got concerned and then felt that I had to let go and let God.

BTW my DH gives me the HCG shot--it's not so bad. I try to get my mind in the a calm place where I think "mind over matter." My DH gets nervous giving it to me, but it makes him feel involved which is important to him and me too.

Trust in the Lord. There is a plan for you. I am excited about your cycle and looking forward to seeing your as well.

What can I do to help you keep your thoughts positive? Let me know.

GL, this morning! I am thinking and praying for you and will be excited to hear about it when I get back from my training. Go Ronda !

My turn?

Hi Lisa,

Well, staying positive is right! I went in this morning and prayed the whole time I was waiting. And, I think it worked. I've got one follie on the right that is about 17mm as of today. The doc is going to call me back after my e2 comes back and let me know the schedule, but it looks like I'll do another menopur shot tonight, trigger shot tomorrow, and IUI on Friday morning. I'm in such disbelief right now! I'm excited and nervous!

I asked the nurse if it's a good idea to go ahead w/ an IUI when there's only one and she said definitely.

Reminding me to stay positive really works for me. And, that I've got to keep my faith strong. I appreciate the help and kind words. I guess my body is not used to all this estrogen! LOL

So, you're going on Thursday and I'm going on Friday! YAY!! I could not be more excited for us!!!

Okay, guess I've got to get some work done around the house. (And, try not to think of everything going on).

Talk to you soon,
Ronda

Gl Lisa!!

Hi Lisa,

It's late Wednesday night and I can't sleep. Just thought I'd get on the computer and check a few emails.

Also, I wanted to wish you luck again in the morning! I'm sure you're excited. I am excited for you too!

My e2 levels were 191 yesterday. The nurse said that's good, so I'm going with it. I did my trigger shot tonight and then I'll be anxiously awaiting Friday.

Well, I can't wait to hear all about it. Just know that I am like crazy for ya!

Talk to you soon,
Ronda

Hi Ronda,

Thanks so much for the prayers! I really appreciate them and they worked.

Things went well. DH's "specimen" was 80 million and 90% motility which was our best ever. I am a real fan of those almonds. We were thrilled.

My RE said that my cervical mucus looked excellent and it looked like our timing was really good. So, I am excited and happy!

That's wonderful about your e2 levels. Everything sounds like it's going well for you! I just realized that tomorrow is your first IUI. I am excited to hear how things go for you tomorrow and will be thinking about you and sending a special prayer for you and your DH.

Good luck tomorrow! And tons of ! Can't wait to hear!

Lisa,

Well, we're both officially in the dreaded 2WW. Lord help us!

Your DH's numbers were great! My DH's was 26 million with a speed of 4.0 (I'm not sure what that means). The dr. said the goal is 10 million with a speed of at least 3.5 so, we're better than the goal which he said is definitely a good thing.

They didn't do another u/s on me so I don't know how much the one follie had grown. I seriously doubt there were any others since the u/s on wed. didn't show any.

I asked the dr. why I wouldn't see a postive opk if I did the trigger shot on wed. They said not to worry about that and that they'd have a better answer once they "got in there". lol

So, she said my CM was perfect and my cervix was the right thickness/size (I can't remember which word she actually used).

The only uncomfortable part of the whole procedure was her trying to locate my cervix. She said something was inverted? I'm guessing she meant my cervix? I was so nervous at that point that I had stopped listening. I asked my DH later and he said he didn't remember either, he was too busy looking at me. He said my face looked like she was killing me, but it didn't hurt, it was just a lot of pressure. Anyway, she said that could be why it's so hard for the swimmers to meet my follies. That and my pcos.

I had a terrible headache, gas, and cramping afterwards (sorry about the TMI). I came straight home and took an hour long nap. After that, I've been fine the rest of the day.

We went to the beach in the afternoon and everyone at the doc's said it was okay to get into the pool and ocean but, I was too afraid to chance it. I'm sure you've been there and done that. I'm so afraid of messing something up.

So, here's the million dollar question.....what in the world are we going to do to make it through this 2WW??? LOL

Hope you're doing well. Have you been noticing any side effects?

Write back when you get a chance. I'm so glad I've got you to talk about this with.

Ronda

Congrats, Ronda on your IUI. I'm so glad to hear everything went well. It sounds like everything was great, CM, thickness of lining. I couldn't wait to hear. It is great that your DH's numbers exceeded your DRs expectation that is so wonderful to hear. I never heard of speed either. Always something new to learn in the IF world.

I am glad to hear that you got to do something fun and relax! I know, now we begin the 2ww. I haven't noticed any side effects yet. I keep getting this annoying headache, but I think it's from the HCG shot. I have been getting it since then. So, I am looking forward to sharing the first week of the 2ww with you. My DH and I are going on vacation for a week to Mexico. We will be back on the 4th which is noticed is your beta. Luckily, I will be back for that. I feel bad that I won't be there to offer some support over the last week which is usually the worst of the two. But I promise that as soon as I get back, I will check in. Until we leave on the 28th, I am here!

Congrats on the IUI and sending and off to you!

Mexico!

Hi Lisa,

Mexico?? I'm jealous! I've never been and DH and I keep saying that we're going to go on our next cruise.

Have fun!! I'm glad to hear you're going to be too busy having fun to worry about the 2WW!

I've got a ton of things to catch up on here around the house now that I'm out of school for the next three weeks so, I shouldn't be worrying much myself.

I have had the headache too. It's got to be the trigger shot then because I wasn't noticing it before either.

Okay, I'll check in a couple more times before you leave to report any side effects, but so far, so good.

Glad to hear you're not noticing any side effects either.

Talk to you soon,
Ronda

Hi Ronda,

Wanted to check in and see how you were doing in the 2ww.

I've been doing good. Not much going on in general, but I did have a little cramping on both sides this weekend. Other than that, all quiet on the western front.

How are things with you?

Hi LIsa,

Same for me....I'm not noticing anything. The only thing I've been getting more of is headaches. I've been waking up with them. I talked to my nurse today and she said it could be from the progesterone suppositories (I know, yuck and TMI). lol

She also said that they can cause me to feel symptoms of pregancy and that could mean that I am pregnant of it's just the medicine so, I shouldn't get my hopes up. So, that means I won't have any signs to look forward to...I'll just have to wait for the blood test. I'm not known for my patience! LOL But, I've put this all in the Lord's hands and whatever will be, will be.

Glad you're doing well and not having any side effects. That's great! Especially since you'll be leaving on vacay soon.

Question for you...do you plan on taking a HPT before your beta or are you just going to wait for the results of the beta?

I've been debating on POAS (not soon, maybe a day or two before the blood test) but DH thinks I should wait it out...just curious what you plan to do.

Okay, talk to you later,
Ronda

Checking in

Hi Ronda,

I am actually planning to try to do something different this cycle. I have stopped temping and I am not going to take any pregnancy tests on my vacation. I am due to POAS on the 1st of August. But if I don't get AF by then, I am planning to test on the 5th when we return.

So, if there is a next cycle, I may not be back in time to start--we'll see. A month off the meds wouldn't be the worst thing.

How the 2ww going for you so far? I have been doing really good, better than usual. I have been really busy at work preparing to leave for a week so I haven't had time to think about it. And dreams of our vacation have been giving me positive thoughts.

The one thing that I have learned from this cycle is to keep busy and keep my mind somewhere else. It's nice not to think about the IF issues and not to be focusing on being pregnant. Don't get me wrong, I would be unbelievably happy if I am pregnant--but the IF stuff really can wear on a person.

Looking forward to hearing how you are doing!!

Hi Ronda,

Just checking in again to see how you are doing.

Things on my end are all quiet. I have been very irritable at times and I am not sure if it is from the new meds.

Anyway, had a pretty uncomfortable experience the other day when a coworker told me she was pregnant. I was really happy for her, but it made me very uncomfortable when she basically proceeded to tell me it was a nuisance and not the right timing. She even seemed unhappy about the good amnio results because she said a number of things could be wrong with the baby and she wouldn't know almost like she was hoping. She also remarked that her husband had never really wanted children and how could it possibly be that he changed his mind. It was really difficult to try to cheer her up when I have been trying for 2 years and have had an HSG, MRI, 3 IUIs, numerous ultrasounds, and been on Crinone, Climara, Clomid, Dostinex, Repronex, Ovidrel. Anyway, I couldn't wait until she left my office. It was hard to stomach.

Just had to share. Hope everything is going well. I leave on Monday, but I will be checking the board until then.

Staying the course...

Hi Lisa,

I'm doing pretty good too. My MIL keeps asking how I'm feeling and asking if I'm noticing anything. I keep trying to tell her that I'd prefer her not to ask me. I'm trying not to focus on it and her questions just make me over analyze every little thing. UGH!

I'm so sorry to hear about your co-worker experience. I can only imagine how frustrating that must have been for you. It is really hard to see or hear of people who are pregnant that don't really want the child (or seem to not want them)....especially when we've been trying for as long as we have. Just remember that everything happens for a reason (I know that's easier said than done, believe me), but the Lord must be testing your co-worker. I hope she changes her feelings though...for her baby's sake.

Well, DH and I decided to take a little vacation too, so we'll be gone from 8/2 - 8/9. My MIL is renting a condo at New Smyrna Beach for the week and she invited us to stay in the extra room. We're so excited, it's just what we need. I think that's the week after you get back though so I don't know how much I'll be able to check in. I'm planning on bringing my computer though so I'll check in as often as I can. I can't wait to hear about your beta results!! And, as usual, I'm hard for a !

If I don't talk you before you leave, enjoy your trip! And, check in when you get back.

Ronda

Hi Ronda,

Hope you are enjoying your vacation! Just wanted to let you know that AF arrived on last Wednesday at least I got to enjoy the all-inclusive drink part of my vacation.

It was incredibly disappointing and I am very sad about it. Tomorrow, I will go into see my RE, but I am late and will be going to see family during the typical IUI so I am thinking about taking the month off.

I am really hoping that your vacation brought a for you. I am keeping my !!!

I'll talk to you when you get back!!!

No bfp for me

Hi Lisa,

Well, no for me either. AF showed up on our first day at the beach. Hey, the good news is I got to get my drink on too. LOL Gotta be positive about something, I guess.

I'm sorry AF showed up for you too. I was so hoping this would be the month for you.

DH and I made the decision to stop trying for a while. We've been too involved in making a baby and we've let some other areas of our lives go by the wayside. So, I called my regular doc and asked to be put back on BCP's. I think I'm going to stay on them for the next year or so. By then, I'll be done with my bachelor's degree and I can really focus on it. Plus, the doc thinks it would be good to stay on the BCP's due to my PCOS. They think it'll help regulate my periods. They also think I need to lose some more weight. I've lost a little over 30 pounds in the last year. No easy task when you've got PCOS, that's for sure. So, I'd like to lose another 30 if possible.

I'm going to do my best to stay in touch. I definitely want to here if you get your BFP!! I'll be praying for you. If you'd like, email me to keep in touch. My email address is:

Good luck to you and your DH and thank you so much for listening!! I really appreciate it!

Ronda
