Need some Advice/Help

We have been TTC for almost 2 years. I have been on Clomid since November and Metiformen since the end of January. Have had two failed IUI's, taken off the past two months from the IUI's and hoping for our third IUI next month. But, I am about to call it quits... I have the worst anexity running through my body at all times.... Thinking my husband is with another female, talking to one and now I want to ask him in the past 10 years we have been together if he has been with anyone, anyway shape or form... These meds are just making me all messed up in the head and the stress and depression I feel each month when AF shows.
My question is anyone one both of these and get the same feelings I am? Is there another combination of Meds I can be on that could help?
I just know that I cant continue doing this to myself or to my husband. I know its the comibation cause I missed a month of Clomid and I didnt think this way while just on Metiformen for that month...

I remember my clomid days and man it is the worst drug ever! I was so glad when my doc moved me to injections because all of those hormones and thoughts pretty much disappeared, I would ask your doctor if there is an alternative. I broke many items in the house while on clomid and said some pretty mean things to DH and luckily he is a good man and looked past it and knew it was the evil clomid talking, but like you did not feel any of those feelings while just on the metformin while we waited for a few tests before we started injections. Good luck and dont give up, you will get your BFP!

I was an absolutely raving lunatic on clomid, every month when I started to get moody I was seriously thinking about leaving my husband. I was moved onto injectables cos the clomid and metformin didn't do anything for me. During the treatment cycle with injectables I felt like crying sometimes over little things but I don't get the mood swings anymore. Things have been really good between my husband and I since I stopped taking clomid. I would definitely ask your doctor to move you onto different treatment if your feeling this bad.

I am just worried about switching since the clomid and metiformen are having a good effect on me with having follicles each month, as before there was none and then having to go there a month or two until we find something else that will help. But I want to be as normal as possible and stop going crazy like I have been.

Honey, I don't think we can ever be "normal" when we are on any type of medication. I have been off meds completely since March and life has gotten much better as far as my moods and my feelings towards my dh. Then again, we have been on a break and will remain on a break from ttc for a while. Good luck to you with whatever you decide to do.

Hi RuthiT,

I think the injectibles are supposed to give you better results than the clomid - but I'm no dr. Can't hurt to ask him what the alternatives are and see.

Good luck!

Hi Ruthie,
I know how insane the Clomid can make you, as if dealing with IF isn't bad enough. I'm very luck to have a DH who takes mood swings and crying jags in stride.

I suggest you ask your Dr. if there is something else you can be put on since you obviously aren't tolerating the Clomid well. The side effects are different for everyone and I'd hate to see you give up your dream completely if there are other options available to you. I believe my Dr offered me some other oral med that is similar to Clomid but w/ different side effects. You really should talk to your Dr.

Also- have you tried to look at things with Humor instead of dread. Last month I looked at DH w/ tears in my eyes and said "I'm crying over a car commercial- this is CRAZY!" and we both laughed. I find it helps if I can recognize when the hormones are in full swing! I Also warn him w/ e-mails on my cranky days. He's got a great sense of humor and appreciates the warnings!
