Smile IUIs week of July 14

I thought that I would start a new thread for those of us having IUIs this week.

This will be my first IUI. It is anticipated that I will have mine on Thursday or Friday. I am scheduled for two back to back IUIs.

So far, I have about 5 follicles that look promising. If I don't O by Wednesday, I have to go back in for another u/s. If things look good, then I will have a HCG shot.

I hope things go well. I have had two abdominal surgeries (unrelated to fertility issues) and even though my HSG came back clear, my doctor thinks there could still be scar tissue from my prior surgeries. Unfortunately, the only way to know is whether I become pregnant. So I am hoping that all is well and that there will be good things to come.

Sending positive baby wishes to all of you out there.

My dh has low morphology issues too, but good motility and volume so I am hoping that this compensates for the morphology.

I just bought my HCG shot and the needle looks painful. Are there any side effects from the HCG?

Hello everyone, sounds like there will be several of us scheduled for this week/weekend. I have an ultrasound on Friday and b2b IUI's on saturday and sunday if everything goes as planned. I hope this is our month, it's the 4th IUI and I have to tell you it gets pretty frustrating to get those negatives 3 times in a row.

#4 is the one.

Good luck everyone. Lot's of

Iui 7/17

Hi Team H, Sammylena and Mima12,

I just had my U/S this morning and I am scheduled for my IUI on Thursday. So, I wanted to join my cycle buddies.

Sammylena, I definitely know what you are saying in terms of repeatedly getting BFNs. I am trying to keep my hopes up and be positive.

Team H, the HCG isn't really painful--kinda like a pinch. The first cycle that I used the HCG shot, I was really nervous and conveyed this to my doctor and in a quick flash he took out a needle and inserted into my stomach. I didn't even feel it -- he said "sorry to be so crude, but I just wanted to show you it isn't so bad." For me, the idea of it was a lot scarier than the actual injection. I didn't have any side effects from HCG unlike the Clomid, which I did have side effects from. Hang in there-- we are here for you!

Mima12, I hated those hot flashes too--they really got to me especially at night with the night sweats.

Good luck to all of you on the upcoming U/S and IUIs.

to all of us!!

Lisa - Wow, you have a much shorter cyle than me, even though we are on the same schedule. I am on CD 12 today and I won't likely have my IUI until CD 15 or 16 - which is Thursday or Friday.
Thanks for the info. about the HCG shot. It looks intimidating. Glad to know that it is not.

Mima - I am done with Clomid and now on Estrace and I am still getting hot flashes. I woke up last night burning hot.

Good luck to all. May we be blessed with

Hey ladies...Just had my IUI today. Everything's looking good...Dare I say...Had 12 mature follies, dh's counts were over 100M with 59.7M Total Motile Sperm...We're really hoping this is the one!

TeamH...Depending on the hCG, they can be a bit painful. If it's Ovidrel, that's pretty easy (subcutaneous), but if it's Novarel or other natural intramuscular hCGs, then it can hurt a bit...Just get it past the skin surface, and then it's pretty easy. We have more nerves on our skin, than deeper into our tissue. I just keep focusing on the fact that childbirth is going to be a killer, so I better be able to handle this, if I'm planning on getting my BFP ...The shot itself isn't horrible, but the butt does feel bruised afterwards. The side-effects do simulate pregnancy for a lot of women, so you may get tender breasts and sometimes fatigue. Otherwise, I've not heard of others actually experiencing any of the others possible. The side-effects usually subside by 7 or 8 days past injection. Good luck to you hon!

Let's go ladies! We can all do this!! BFPs all the way!

Hey Lisa, Charity, Team H, Sammylena and Mima12!

I just had an IUI today with 5 mature follicles all between 18-25. My DH had 22M at 85% motility. I am soooo hoping this one takes with a good egg.

Team H - HCG was not too bad for me. The only side effect I had was slightly larger BBs. By the way, thanks for starting this thread.

Charity that is quite a lot of mature ones!!!

Lisa, Team H, Sammy and MIMA - for perfectly sized follies

OPK was negative this morning, so tomorrow I have the u/s and HCG shot if my follies look good. I hope that they have been maturing. I have been having cramps so hopefully it is those follies growing.

Charity - 12 mature follies! Wow, that is amazing. Maybe you'll have twins.

Marilynn - that sounds like a great cyle. I will for you.

Mima - Good luck to you

To anyone else I missed, keep us posted and let us know how you are doing. to everyone!!!!

TeamH...Yeah...We've already been pg with twins on our very first IUI with injectibles, so we would love that again. That was with only 4 mature follies, so I'm worried maybe more! We lost them at 8 weeks, unfortunately, hence the reason we're doing so many follies. RE is concerned we may have a genetic issue, so if we can get more to implant maybe a few will be good healthy beanies that will stick around for the full 9 months. Sure hoping we don't have to worry about any higher order than two. That can be really dangerous for the babies...Maybe I'm counting my eggs before their hatched, but sure hope this is the one.

By the way, 12 follies KILLS when you O...OMG! I had to call into work today, and have been in bed in reclined all day...

Thanks for the welcome ladies, and the support...Can't wait to see us all with our BFPs!!

Hi ladies

Had my first IUI yesterday, so keeping fingers crossed. This is my first cycle on injectibles (or any other drug), so wasn't sure what to expect, but so far it's been pretty easy. I only had one follicle, but DH's total motile count was good, so I sure hope it works.

Lots of to everyone!!
