New to this and starting first IUI in August

Hello Everyone,
I am new to this site......I just joined today. I am starting my first IUI in August with Clomid + injections and am nervous and stressed out. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 5 years. We finally started going to a fertility clinic in at the beginning of this year. I have been through bw, us hsg and my husband had semen analysis and everything was normal. So now I am diagnosed with unexplained infertility. I have been very depressed, stressed out and nervous throughtout this whole process. I have also been researching success rates for IUI and that has been bringing me down and making me not very optimistic about this process. This is all very new to me. I joined this because I think discussing these issues with other woman that are going through the same thing could help me. (I do not know anyone personally that has gone through this)

Heather...I too joined just before we did our IUI and have found wonderful support here. I'm sure you'll see that you are not alone at all and there are dozens who have been in your exact situtation (or at least one that is very similar).

I'm so sorry to hear that you've been dx with unexplained infertility. I've read so many posts where women have voiced their frustrations with that particular dx (or lack of one really).

I just wanted to say that it is possible to achieve success with IUI and not to let yourself feel too discouraged before you even get started. The average number of cycles before success is about 3-4, depending on the person. You may be one of the lucky ones that gets their happy news right away and you may be someone who has to go through several...there's no way to know. In the meantime though, you'll never have to go through another 2ww alone and whenever you feel the need to vent happiness or frustration/anger, someone is always here to hear you.

Welcome to the site and I wish you and your DH great success as you both move forward.

Welcome!

Don't be discouraged by reading about IUI - We have a wonderful little boy and now going through it again. As long as you follow the instructions and not afraid to ask questions during your treatments, you will be fine. Good Luck and keep a postive attitude!

Hello Everyone,
Hope everyone is doing well with their IUI's this month. I just finished my injectables. I now have three large follicles......started off with 2 large but the 3rd one caught up in size. I go for my final monitoring appointment tomorrow, Saturday, and if my LH doesn't surge on it's own tomorrow I will take my HcG injection and go for my IUI on Sunday or Monday....I think. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I know it gives you a better chance to get pregnant with 3-4 matured follicles but it also makes me VERY nervous because that also means more of a chance for multiples!! I will take what I can get though.....we all have worked hard enough just to get pregnant so I will be happy with whatever happens. Wish me luck and please keep me updated on how all of you are doing!!
