Conquering Infertility by Dr. Alice Domar
So my spirits were really down this afternoon. I poas this morning and got a
 .Then my BFF  sent me pictures of a bunch of stuff she bought for her baby from our college book store ... I was so down I googled infertility/depression and found this book. I loked at it on Amazon then ran right to Borders and bought it. Conquering Infertility by Dr. Alice DomarThe book is full of tools to help us cope!  It's about the mind/body connection and that being down about our fertility can actually reduce our chances at conception.What's more is that this book also has a 10 week program that clinics across the country offer. Including my clinic here in Seattle! I just wanted to share since so many of us have the same emotions about dealing with this.

Me: 36 DH: 39 TTC since 1/07 10/07-1/08: Clomid 2/08-4/08: Found RE, testing etc 5/08-8/08: 3 IUIs- All IVF #1: Nov '08 9/5- start BCPs 10/2- 2 large cysts found- Cycle canceled for the month 10/27 Cyst gone! 11/9- ER- 9 retrieved-4 fertilized - they "forgot" to ICSI?! 11/12- 3 day transfer of 2 Embabies- 7 & 8 cell both w/ less than 5% fragmentation 11/24- BETA  Taking a break. Don't know what we'll do next.... 2 furbabies:  Tia Grommit

Thanks for recommending this book! It has been so great and come at the perfect time for me. I have just started reading it, but it has really been helpful. I also picked up these guided imagery CDs that have helped me sleep better and feel more relaxed called "Guided Meditations to Help with Fertility" by Belleruth Naparstek. Thanks again!

I'm glad others are finding this helpful too. My DH is reading it now. I think it'll help him understand more of the female prespective.
I ordered the relaxation CD that's offered at Dr. Domar's clinic. It should be arriving in the next day or so. I am hoping this relaxation will help.... after all it seems to be what everyone tells us to do, right?

I actually did accupuncture before and after ET at the domar clinic in MA. It was a wonderful experience. I have a relaxation CD and an IVF CD to help prepare the body for stims and receiving the embroyos.

Me (Krista) - 29 - all tests seem fine  DH - 28 - slightly low strict morphology and volume ttc 2 years IUI #1 - 4/2/08 (used clomid, ovidrel, and progesterone supplements) 5/2/08 - IUI #2 (same protocol) 5/16/08 - Beta test 6/3/08 IUI #3 (same protocol) 6/17/08 - 8/1/08 - IUI #4 (this time 25mg clomid with bravelle added - ovidrel and prometrium, of course) 8/15/08 - beta test currently taking a month off 9/2 - meeting with RE to decide how to proceed 2 more months off! 11/19/08 - baseline u/s and b/w -- Here we go again! I actually attended Ali's 10 week Mind/Body Program at Boston IVF. It was WONDERFUL. I used the relaxation/guided imagery cds she offered as well. I would also recommend reading her other book called Healing Mind, Healthy Women! It is brilliant.
