I had 3 IUI's earlier this year with Clomid. The most follicles I had were 2. We took quite a long break and recently started back up. I started Repronex 150 units on cycle day 5. I went in on Cycle day 9 and had 7 follicles. My estradiol level was 187. I went in today (CD 12) and had 3 follicles, measuring 17.5, 16, and 14 mm. They rechecked my estradiol and also ordered a progesteronel level. The RE that I saw is not the one that I usually see. My usual RE likes the follicles above 20 mm, and he does not usually order labs.

I was told by the covering RE that I could trigger tonight and have an IUI on Wednesday, if I were concerned about having twins, or I could wait until tomorrow and trigger. Well, at this point, I just want to get pregnant, I don't care how many I have. I told him I was going to leave it up to him. He said to plan on triggering tomorrow night (CD 13) and come in on Thursday for an IUI unless the labs show something different. He said that if my progesterone has started rising, then I may need to go ahead and trigger tonight.

Has anyone else had their trigger day depend on their progesterone level? Also, he did not measure my uterine lining at all. Is this usual? I asked about taking the Repronex today and the nurse said to wait until she knows the lab results. How many days before the trigger or IUI do you usually stop doing injections?

Hi. I am back after a long break too.

I think follie size can be smaller with injections opposed to Clomid. As far as labs, I always had bw done with my u/s and they would call me and tell me when to trigger. I would think they are looking to see if you are starting to surge already and that would move up your trigger/IUI. Not sure if this has to do with progestrone or not. I know they look at the E2 level to see how mature the follies are.

I don't know if it's different with IUI, but I continued my injections up to the day before I triggered. I did my Follistim injections in the evening and my trigger was in the morning.

As far as bloodwork goes, my RE's office checked my progesterone at my follie check and I was usually just about to ovulate on my own. With the one cycle I did injections, they couldn't get any blood (I have uncooperative veins) at the follie check so they had me trigger based on my follie size.

My RE would trigger when the biggest follicle was at least 18mm on injectible cycles. I think it's good that you are waiting one more day until you trigger. I think that the follicles will be perfect size and hopefully all 3 will have mature eggs at that point. I've never had my progesterone levels checked before ovulation so I can't answer that question. My RE always measured my lining with each u/s. Do you think maybe your RE did measure it and didn't tell you? With my IUI's, I did the stims for 7-8 days, then stopped and did trigger shot with IUI's the following two days. Hi Shelia! I think things sound like you are good to go with the IUI. With my 2 IUI's I was on clomid and Menopur. I got 3 nice follies both times from 16 to 19. I took my trigger shot at early evening and had my b2b IUI's the following two days. The trigger shot will increase the follies up to 2mm. That will make your 17.5mm follie ad 20.5mm follie Like Deanna said, I'm sure he measured your lining, but just didn't mention it to you. My RE never did estridol or progesterone tests. I believe that for those of us on injectables it isn't needed since the trigger shot makes you ovulate.

If this RE didn't tell you to take one more dose of the Reproxen then it's because he didn't think you needed it. However, I'm sure the nurse will let you know for if you need to take it after your test results are in.

Just an update. The nurse called back yesterday afternoon and said that my estradiol level was 331 and my progesterone was 0.9. She told me to go ahead and take the Repronex yesterday afternoon and to trigger today between 4 and 5. I go in Thursday morning for my IUI. We went ahead and BD'd last night, just in case I ovulate prior to the IUI. The last few IUI's I analyzed, and overanalyzed things. I started to do the same thing yesterday but decided that I am just going to trust the doctor on this one and put it in his and God's hands. Like you guys said, he probably measured my lining, and just did not mention it. The fact that he did not mention hopefully means that there was not an issue.
