Discouraged: Late AF and NEG HPT
I was just wondering if anyone had some thoughts on my situation. I am only two days late for AF and I did a HPT yesterday 13 dpiui that was negative. I'm always on time if not early. I had a lot of signs that AF was coming earlier in the week but ive read on here that some women experience similar synmpyoms when they are pregnant. Is 13dpiui to early to test? I have heard people talk about beta tests on here but my doctor has never mentioned it before, when do women take those? I feel discouragedbut I don't want to give up hope, this is going to be my last try before going on a break to pay off some bills and think about what to do next.

hi jenn,
most people have their beta 2 wks after iui if af doesn't come, but it depends on the RE. i'm surprised yours didn't give you intstructions. my RE doesn't like me to do hpt because she says this early in the game there are many false negatives, but if i must i should buy first response because it picks up smaller amounts of hcg in the system. i think you should call your RE and request a blood test since you haven't seen af. then you should go to the drug store and pick up a first reponse hpt and use it first thing tomorrow morning! best of luck to you!!! Don't lose hope! ~Tina

Hi Jenn, try again tomorrow with the most sensitive HPT you can get. I'd also keep your fluid intake to a minimum to concentrate your urine if you can. If you still have a BFN you can generally trust it 14 dpiui.
for you!

Thanks everyone, well no need to call the doctor. AF should up yesterday on day 30 in my cycle. I almost feel relieved because at least I know although i wish I knew it was a BFP. Oh well. I've now decided to take a break for a while. This has really been emotionally draining for me and my DH as u all know to well i'm sure. I think that those of you who have been doing this for so long are very strong and brave. I have only beeing seeing my RE for 7 months and I just feel like i'm being defeated over and over again . I need some time to gain my hope back. I wish all of you the best of luck and will keep everyone in my prayers.

Hi Jenn,
I think taking a break is a great idea. Looks like you've done 7 cycles without a break?! You deserve some time to recharge your batteries and get rested and let your body have a break! Just don't give up your dream. You're still young enough that you don't have to worry about "wasting" a month like some of us do. ![]() Good Luck!
