Unhappy How long for cyst to go away?

So I went in for my baseline u/s today and I have a large cyst on my right ovary . For those of you that have had a cyst after meds how long did it take for the cyst to reslove itself? Have another u/s scheduled in 4 weeks. I am hoping it is gone by then.

On another note this was going to be our last cycle of fertility treatments. I was all geared up for this and ready. Now being back in limbo again.....I don't know if this is my body's way of telling me I should be done and move on. 5 IUIs, DOR, poor response to meds - get a clue lady!!! OK I am sure I am just being negative and will have a more positive outlook tomorrow. IF SUCKS!!!!!

Hi, I understand what your going through. I've been in limbo since April of last year. I developed large cysts on my left ovary after taking clomid and letrozole. I had taken them before without any problems but starting getting cysts. I had 2 cysts that did not go away after 4-7 weeks. So I had to have it surgically removed. I had another cysts a few months ago from an unmedicated cycle and it did shrink after about 4 1/2 weeks. I was taking Desogen during the 4 weeks. Are yours blood filled or clear fluid? I think the cysts that are filled with blood tend to be stubborn but the fluid filled cysts may go away on it's own.

I know how frustrating it is. I can usually tell when I have them now. My RE told me that I will need to do IVF because of these darn cysts. I'm hoping to get started in February. Good luck. Hope it goes away.

Hopenpray - I had no idea when I went in to begin iui #2 that it was possible to have to sit out due to a cyst...while I was looking at the screen during the u/s I could see it, but still didn't know that it meant no injections or iui...it was still measuring 25mm!! Anyways, it wasn't until he was finished with the u/s that I "got it" and was in tears. I am hoping that next month, if I didn't get pregnant on my own this month, that it will be gone and I can start my next cycle. He offered bcp to help reduce the size of the cyst so that I would be ready next month. He did say that about 93% go away on their own in a month without bcp and about 98% with...so I took my chances. Now I am glad I did b/c I had a + OPK yesterday morning and have been ...with bcp I wouldn't have some sort of hope that it might happen naturally this time...not sure if I'm being crazy that it might happen naturally...but still ...I guess we never know what to expect in this IF world!

I had a giant one and it went away with BCP after a month. Take the BCP. It will ensure that it is probably gone for the next cycle. Otherwise, it might take more than a month.

Thanks for all of your input. My RE did not offer me BCPs so I hope to be in the majority where the cyst goes away on its own . Dixiedogsmom I hope this month is your month and you don't even have to worry about the next time. Good luck and to all.
