Looks like there are some new BFPs since I've last been here. Congrats!

mrs smashy, I am really sorry to hear your numbers are down. You will be in my thoughts. Don't give up!

Thanks also to everyone who answered my question. It is comforting to know that it takes many tries. I would like to consider my first try a "practice run".

AFM, showed up today . . . onto ROUND #2!

Thanks for the support everyone! I'm trying not to feel depressed, and am taking comfort that it least it sort of worked once... which is easier said than done

Now I have to decide what to do next: another round of IUI, or straight to IVF. I think I'm ready to bring out the big guns at this point, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to start that right away on my next cycle.

Good luck to all of you!

You know if I had good enough insurance, I would have just went directly to IVF.

Not sure why, but RE did beta two days in a row instead of waiting the two days. So in a 24 hour period it went from 307 to 502. They told me that they would not be doing another one and scheduled a 7 week ultrasound.

Well the Beta didn't go up as much as we would like, but it still went up. Here's the ticker tape:

7/02 25
7/06 64.13
07/08 116.44
07/10 179.34

Is there any hope for this baby to survive?

MrsSmashy - Sorry you are faced with trying IVF...I know what you mean about bringing the big guns out...if you are spending money on injectibles then you might as well have the increased chance that IVF can bring. Good luck with whatever you try next

TSYORK - My nurse just told me on the phone that they want the numbers to increase by 60% in 48 hours, which yours came really close to doing. I think they want them to increase by 100% in 72 hours, which it looks like yours have done. I don't want to give you false hope, but I think there is hope if the numbers are going up. Best of luck...keep us posted. for you and your wife.

DanaCat - Your numbers look great! Sounds like we're due date buddies!

I went back in for my second beta this morning. While I was there, they had me do a quick sonogram since I told them I've been having cramps in my lower right abdomen since implantation. Turns out the right side is perfectly clear (last months cyst is gone) - but there is a small cyst on the left - she said is no big deal at all - so all is good. PHEW - wiping brow!

Beta # 1 - day 16 = 409
Beta # 2 - day 19 = 1171

I go in for my final beta next Tuesday and then sonogram will be around week 7.

Wife got a call from the RE's office. They say she has an ectopic pregnancy. We're moving swiftly because she's starting to hurt. They're afriad that it will do tube damage, but even more importantly, they told her it was very very dangerous and could risk her life.

The Dr. will make sure the baby isn't in the uterus first, if not, then he will examine the tubes. If found in the tube, he will end the pregnancy. If in the uterus, we will wait for God to take our first angel on his own, in the time that he sees feet. We are morally bound not to terminate if her health isn't in any danger.

TSYORK - I am so sorry that they suspect it is ectopic. I am praying that it is not. Many hugs and prayers for you both.

Jessica and TKahn - Congrats! Looks like you have great numbers. I ended up only getting two betas but that may be because my first was not until 16dpIUI. They said I was done after today's and the next they want to see me is 7 weeks.
