Hi Ladies,
Looks like everybody's follies are growing, good luck to all the IUI's!

AFM, I had my bw/us this morning and it is never a good sign when the dr comes in to do the u/s. She said that my bloodwork from Friday showed my egg levels are not doing good. When I first started a few months ago I was at 11 and now I increased to 16, which means rapidly producing less eggs by the month. It will never go down it will only go up, so that's why they increased my follistim to 300 per night.

So, I cried myself all the way to work and need to find some strength to get rid of this lump in my throat.

Well, the dr said I will trigger Wed and Thurs will be IUI. After that I have to move on to IVF and it looks like I will need donor eggs. I made an appt for an IVF consultation next Wed.

I wish I never waited so long to see a specialist. I knew I had a problem and just put it off. I am so stupid for waiting so long.

sorry for the long post....

Well after reading everyone's posts it's getting me excited to do my first IUI cycle!

Athena - I'm so sorry you're going through this, I'll keep my fingers crossed that the increased dosage will help!

Babson - Good luck getting everything done before your trip!

As far as my update, I went in on Saturday, CD9, to get an U/S and check my follicles. They found 3 good follicles, possibly 4 that will hopefully be possibilities. It's strange because my RE gives me the measurement of the follies in cm, not mm, so my biggest one was at about 1.7cm, which they say they want to wait for the injection until I'm at about 2 cm. The other 3 ranged from about 1.2 cm - 1.5 cm. So I'm hoping they're big enough next time I go in so we can do the IUI soon!

I made another appt. to go in today at 3:30, so I'm praying really hard that everything looks good. If it does, I'll get my injection today and have my first IUI tomorrow!! If not, they'll probably have me come back again on Wednesday

I also had a cyst on my first U/S of the month, on my right side and it started at about 2.3 cm and it's now at about 2.7cm, which the RE said is fine. She said if it was getting above 4cm or so, then we should worry, but her and the doctor weren't concerned at all. I have 3 follicles on my left side and 1 on my right side.

We'll see what happens!!!

Athena - I am sorry about the eggs not cooperating. I totally understand about the waiting so long to see the RE. I did the same thing - I can still recall my OB(who I love) saying "Heather, why'd you wait so long to see me and get the referral?" I think I was just in denial about what was NOT happening. I remember how awful I felt too after seeing the RE and getting the gritty details of what my mysterious uterus was doing and not doing. Best with wishes with the planned IUI.

AFM- I went in for day 2 of my b2b IUIs. DH has 50 million swimmers this time. Boy, was I uncomfortable yesterday! Really crampy, VERY bloated but I feel better today.

Now we are in the 2ww officially!

Good news girls! I went in for my follie check this morning and it looks like the femara did its job. I've got two follies, one on each side. The one on the left is 24mm and the one on the right is 26mm!

Also this morning I had lots of fertile CM and a spot of blood which means my cervix must be wide open and I'm developing a nice, thick lining.

My 2nd IUI is tomorrow at 10:45 am. Wish me luck! Dr. Starks isn't going to do another oral medication. If this doesn't work we have to move onto injectables (which we cannot afford) so I'm praying that the third time really is the charm.

- Angel

Congrats, Angsea! Those are great follie numbers. Hope everything works out for you this time aorund!

AFM - unfortunately I didn't get the result I needed today. My follies didn't grow from yesterday. I still have 2 at 16.5mm. The dr. still wants to go ahead with the trigger tonight and have the IUI tomorrow. I guess I have mixed feelings. One the one hand I am glad we are doing something..... I think I would have had a melt down if we had to skip this month. But on the other hand, I almost feel like it's a waste of time.

Have any of you lovely ladies had any success with follies that size?

Thanks for any and all input.........

I just got back from my second ultrasound today. A few things!

1. The cyst on my right side is still there and not growing, so we're still fine there, yay!

2. One of my follicles already released! The doc saw some fluid which meant one of the follicles have already been released.

3. Other than the 1 that was released, I still had 5 more follicles! There was one really big one, 34mm, which the nurse wasn't sure would release, but after talking to the doctor he said its still possible. The second one is 26mm and the other 3, were 12mm, 16mm and 17mm.... so we have a good chance I think!!

Here's my question though... please answer soon so I know if I should reschedule my appt. I just got my trigger shot today at 4pm and they said I could come in tomorrow afternoon (and their latest appt. would be 3:30), so slightly less than 24 hours, or I could come in on Wednesday morning at 8am, which is 40 hours. Do you think it's bad if we wait until Wednesday?? Does it have to be between 24-36 hours?? My nurse said it was OK that I come in then, but I obviously want the best chances... anyone know from experience??!? HELP PLEASE!!!! Thanks!!!

But that's the news... I go in for IUI either tomorrow or Wednesday morning, right now I'm scheduled for 8am Wed. morning!

Tiffany, I was just reading something that said results are good at 40-42 hours. I don't know where but it was about how the egg would be waiting for sperm.

Babson - would your Dr do b2b IUI for you? so tomorrow and Wed? That might be the ticket for you.

AFM- I spent the day hostessing a tea party for the teachers at my son's preschool. I had a lovely, lovely day and feel 110% better than I did yesterday after the first insemination.

Well, I think I'll be having my b2b IUIs sometime this week, based on last month's schedule — I hope there's room for one more over here! I'm off to the RE tomorrow morning (cd 9), so we'll see how well (if at all) I'm responding to the puregon shots.

Good luck to everyone this month!

So instead of b2b IUI's, the hubby and I are going to have to before I head off in the morning. (always a fun treat in the morning! HA!) So that is where I'm at...... do you think it's still worth a shot?

Sounds like everyone is doing pretty good. For those of you who have not had the best result from your latest appointments I understand and am in that boat with you. I am anxiously waiting for wednesday to see if the increased dosage of gonal f is working its magic. I know I feel more emotional and bloated and I just can't wait to get this show on the road and get to my 2ww.

Babson - good luck with the BD... who knows, maybe that could be all you need! For some reason my doctor only does b2b iui's if the sperm count wasn't good the first day, then he'll have us come back a second day. So I'm just planning on iui on wed, and then BD that day or night. So I don't think it's uncommon to not do the b2b.

Mrs Smashy - I'll be rooting for you tomorrow!! Let us know how the u/s turns out!!

Heatherly - Thanks for the response. I actually got a hold of my doctor and he said the research he's done shows that the best times are around 42 hours as well, so that makes me feel a lot better! I saw your response first and that definitely made me not worry So thank you!!

I can already feel myself ovulating. I just got the shot like 7 hours ago and I can already feel the small pains of ovulation. At least I know that part of the process is working!! Oh and today was my cd11

Good luck to everyone else on their IUI's this week!!

Tiffany - Let's hope!!! Yeah, my dr. isn't too keen on the b2b's, either. Not sure why..... it's so funny to see all the different practices by fertility doctors. It just goes to show there are many ways to solve a problem!

AFM - So I took the trigger shot last night and just came back from the IUI this morning. Feeling a bit more upbeat and happy - still MEGA tired and crampy from the procedure but all in all in good spirits. Normally I wouldn't go for the IUI until tomorrow (36 hours after the trigger) but I leave for Atlanta tomorrow so well see if this little shake up in routine does the trick! DH and I will be doing the tomorrow morning and then when I get back on Thursday night so hopefully that will do the trick!

If all else fails, I have my appt on Friday with my Dr. to go over next steps if this cycle doesn't work. I was talking to the nurse this morning and she said more likely than not, injectables will be the next step. She said that many ladies who perform well with the clomid (like I do) that don't have much succuess with the end result, do VERY well with the injectables and get PG within the first few tries. I really hope that is the case.... I just want to be happy and pg and forget all the IF problems we have endured. I know the minute I see that BFP, all of this will just disappear.

Can't wait.............
