Trying yet again.............
Hello everyone -
Haven't posted in a while - been a bit frustrating couple of months...... but I am mustering up enough strength to keep going. I'm going for my 5th IUI this month, 100 mg of clomid, ovidril shot and progesterone suppositories. Good thing is I react very well to the meds, but so far haven't had ![]() ![]() I had my baseline u/s yesterday and got the all clear, started my clomid last night and we are well on our way. I have my follie check on 6/12 so hopefully they will do their thing and we can go from there. If things go the way they have in the past, I will probably be due for my IUI on the 15th or 16th of June. ![]() ![]() ![]() All the best for all of us this month - I think we are all due to see LOADS of for this group!!!![]() ![]() ![]()

Babson! I am sure people will be trickling in slowly as we get beta results and all. I just wanted to get a head start! It is great that you respond well to the clomid. It didn't do so well for me, so they just switched me to femara to preven the clomid from eating away at my uterine lining. I hope it works!

AllD - Good to see you...although I wish we both had our BFP's already! I probably won't be able to keep up with the reading and posting here but I thought I'd join you all since I decided to go ahead with IUI#5!
Babson - we're in the same boat...on to IUI#5 for me too!! You know I used to feel so sad when I'd see someone beyond IUI#3 and no BFP and now here I am! Wish we had our BFP's by now, but since we don't, I'm glad we can support each other. AF showed up full force today so I'll likely have my IUI on the 22nd or 23rd.

Kris- I am sorry you didn't get your BFP this time around. I am also glad to hear that your RE is going to do some more close monitoring. I couldn't even imagine not having all of the u/s to let me know where I am. This was the first cycle, but I also had pos OPK, but I wonder if that is what threw the timing off. I am sure I am overanalyzing, but oh well!
We will get our BFPs this time!!

Kris - yeah, it's pretty weird to be on IUI #5 already! I, too, hoped I would be one of the lucky ones to get that
relatively quickly. But, alas, that was not in the plan! However, I have big hopes for us in this round. It's about time an "experienced" IUI candidate gets the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!AllD - My dr. keeps telling me that I respond very well and I have a uterine lining, and I quote, "Like a rockstar." ha! Let's hope that continues!!! AFM - my dr. called me this morning and scheduled an appt on 6/19 to go over some next steps incase this cycle does not work. I was feeling relieved and sad once I hung up the phone. In one way, I was glad I would have a plan B in place (i'm a planner through and through!) but I was also a bit disappointed to think that maybe my RE didn't have the faith that I would pull through this month. ![]() ![]() plan B won't have to happen! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hey Everyone. Looking to join this group. Hi Kris, long time no "see". I'm glad we can be there for each other again.
All deliveries-Thanks for starting the thread. Soon you'll have to change your name from "All Deliveries No Baby" to "All Deliveries and YES a baby" .Babson-I'm keeping you lifted up that this IS your time. Even if you have to move to plan B, when you're holding your little one it will all be worth it. AFM-I go in tomorrow for a check to see if I have follies growing. As you can tell, I've just started "growing" follies. So I hope I can keep up the momentum. I visited my sister and her new baby this weekend and all I heard all weekend is how I have to go ahead and have kids. In my head, I was like "If it were only that easy". ![]()

I will probably have my 3rd IUI either 16th or 17th.
I took Femara 2.5 CD5-9 on my last IUI. I asked RE and his nurse if I should take stronger med this round, or even injectables, they said no, there is no need. They put me the same med as last time Femara 2.5. I did request 2nd u/s on the day of color change to see if I have enough lining, and how I respond to med. ( last time, the nurse said 2nd u/s was not necessary, and it costs money since my insurance won't cover anything) I am kinda puzzled. Any thoughts?

Hi Ladies,
It looks like I am joining you too...today is cycle Day1, I am assuming my IUI will be 6/25 if it follows the same pattern as the past 2 months... if this cycle is a no-go, I will be moving onto injectibles which scares the CR&P out of me!!! I am below down in the dumps and have been hysterical almost all morning - I didn't cry at all last month and am mostly just feeling really sorry for myself.

It's been awhile since I posted, I've been frustrated and trying not to think of baby stuff, but now I'm smack dab in the middle of cycle #3 so I figured I better jump on board.
Cycle #1 I took clomid and had two follies and had an uneventful IUI. My 2ww was torture then of course came the .Cycle #2 I took clomid again (but for two days longer) and didn't develop any mature follies so IUI #2 was cancelled. I was expecting AF around May 23rd but she didn't show up until June 2nd. I called the doc and started femara which I just finished taking yesterday. My follie check is scheduled for June 15th and if all goes well, I'll have IUI #2 on June 16th. I'm feeling fairly negative about it all... but still hoping this works. I can't afford to move onto injectables. On that note, DH and I are preparing to move. We're going to stay with my parents and sell our house in an effort to save money so we can continue to pay for these stupid fertility treatments. I'm so tired. - Angel

Angel, I feel your pain, I did a rough calcultion last night, my DH and I have spent 2K so far for the treatment, which is really nothing compare to if we have to move to injectable or IVF after this cycle.
I picked up IVF package from my RE last week when i had my 1st u/s. The standard cost is around $12K, not including med or any extra. My DH and I are otherwise healthy, we are careful about what we eat, it seems the only time we need our insurance is for this infertility treatment, and they don't cover it, which is really frustrating.

First cycle
Hi everyone! This will be our first round of IUI.
Yesterday was day one of my cycle. We have male factor infertility. My husband is on Clomid 25mg daily. I will start Femara 5mg tomorrow. Scheduled for ultrasound 6/19. Planning on ovudril injection. Likely go in for IUI on the 20th or 21st. This month also marks 5 years of infertility for us. |

So far, financially this has been a difficult road. After the clomid failed, my RE wanted to move on to injections but I told him we couldn't afford it so he said we'd try femara. However... he's not confident it will work.
DH and I talked for weeks about what to do. Selling our house and moving in with family is far from ideal... but in ten years, I won't care about the house. I'll care about whether or not I'm a mother. Unfortunately, even moving in with my parents we're still not going to have enough money (assuming we sell our house quickly which is unlikely) to be able to do IVF. I'm looking for work (I've been a housewife for years) but it's difficult without a college education. I wish sometimes so much that I could go back in time to the age of 17 and do things right to ensure a better financial future. But then I just get mad because whether or not you can become a family should not be dependent on how much money you have. DH and I aren't well off by any means, but we had plenty to offer a child. A house, a yard, the ability to buy them clothes, food, toys... now we've sunk every spare cent into infertility treatments and it has all come up to nothing. We've spent thousands... and for what? Sorry to whine I'm just really frustrated lately. Why can't I just 'get pregnant' like every other woman in my family? My mom had five children and almost all of her pregnancies were accidents. My oldest sister decided she wanted a baby and two months later, she was pregnant. Same thing when she wanted her second child. My other sister is a single mom who got pregnant from a one-night-stand. My brother, twice divorced, has three children. My sister-in-law is also a single mother. I have six nieces and nephews. I'm the only person in my family that isn't a mother. It gets very tiring. I just thank God that I'm not alone, that all of you understand. - Angel

Hi Ladies!
Well I am on CD3 today and went for my bw and us this morning. Al looked good, except the RE wants me to do an umedicated cycle this time. I took a low dose of clomid last month and apparently it thinned my lining too much. So one last natural try and then on to injectables for me next cycle! I am praying that this one works! I think my IUIs wil fall on June 21-22. The 21st is our 1 year wedding Anniversary! Hi AllD, Kris, Justice , and SMR, Timing, angsea, Jessica and Babson! Some of us have cycled before together and welcome to those that our new to the group!

Hello all, I'm on cycle day 3 and got the go ahead to start my follistim injection tonight. I will be switching to gonal-f tomorrow night when it arrives from the pharmacy. My SO and I can also sympathize with the financial burden this can place on a family. Today alone we forked out over $700 and that's with insurance. I don't know what we would do if we didn't have the coverage. I know it seems trivial to complain about a price for something so precious, but it's hard when you know that the percentage of
is very low even with injectibles. We are and for ourselves and everyone else!!! Looking forward to reading throughout the next few weeks. Good luck to all.
