Hi Ladies, Thank you for the warm welcome!! Good luck to everyone having their IUI's today!!

Question for all of you: So I had some pretty good pain in my ovaries yesterday (this does tend to happen to be about two days or so before ovulation). I took two OPK's yesterday (per Dr's orders) and they were both negative (really negative) but this morning I woke up and the pain is pretty much gone. I am worried that something happened. But I also know this same thing happened a couple of months back so I am trying not to be a nervous reck. Why do I worry so much Anyone else have this happen - the pain coming and going from one day to the next??

Also, I have been VERY neasues the last couple of days. I found out I was accidentally taking the wrong and higher dose of the Gonal F so I am not sure if that is what is causing this. Anyone else feel sick from the meds?

Thank You Ladies - you are GREAT!!

my first IUI

Hello ladies, I'm new to this board just like many others I see. My husband and I have been TTC since 2007 and after many negative pregnancy tests I started seeing RE in April. I have been going through all my Lupron injections in the am and my gonal -f in the pm and been back and forth every other day to the RE for u/s and bloodwork, I seriously feel like a human pin cushion! Anyway I just found out that I will have my first IUI either on Friday or Saturday depending on my bloodwork today..So I'm keeping my that it will work on the first try...I'm so happy to have found this site, its sad to know that there are so many of us out there that have such difficulty in having a child but I find comfort in knowing I'm not alone...I hope we all have the joy of having soon...

Hi Newroad

Definitely every cycle is different. Last one I had a lot more twinges and this cycle - its a piece of cake. I actually had a lot of pain last cycle as I think the body adjusts itself to the gonal f and the other drugs. In terms of nausea - it could be just down to nerves and worry. As long as you are being scanned and your Doc is happy enough - I would not worry too much. Try and relax and go for a nice walk and get yourself a little pedi or a treat.

Thanks to everyone for well wishes today!! Maybe1day it went swimmingly!! Had IUI about 2 hours ago. No cramping so far. 10 million sperms with 85% motility. A little down on last time (56 million) but sure it only takes one! I joked with my DH that all those bachelor parties had taken their toll on his swimmers!

I asked the nurse about the progesterone pessaries and if I might need them...as I'd read about them on this forum. After a chat with head doc, turns out I need them and have been given a supply for the next 2 weeks. Woh, thanks be to god for this site!! A little knowledge is a good thing and if I hadn't asked the question!

So wishing everyone good luck with their IUIs!

Starfsh - I'm sure you'll only be a little behind me!
tucansam - I hope day 2piui is going well for ya!

Newroad good luck on Thursday!

Hello all,
Feel a little better today after the antibiotics kicked in...however, I feel so achy in the lower half of my body. It's from the stomach down to my thighs, just a dull ache which started last night. I can only describe it as "growing pains," the type you used to get as a kid. It's very uncomfortable. Still feeling some twinges where my ovaries are, not sure what that means. Hope you all are doing good!!

I agree with Cherry. Last time I had LOTS of signs . . . pain, nausea, cramps. . . you name it I had it. This time I hardly even feel like I am in a 2 week wait (well except for my anticipation). I am also must more relaxed -- and I am 6dpiui.

Later Taters!!

When you say 10 mil and 85% -- does that mean 8,500,000 total motile sperm? My RE just told me last time that DH had 6 million total motal sperm post wash. I am just really confunsed on these numbers and thought you might be able to help.

Thanks, R

Hi Ruthlus12

I'm not sure - that was what the nurse told me 10 million post wash and 85% motility. So I'm guessing that this means 8,500,000 of them have good swimming abilities!! But as I said we only need ONE! And think of it this way - by going au natural - only 1% of sperm gets through the cervix so IUI is really increasing your numbers of swimmers.

Best Cherrygo!

Thank you! Do you have any of your work online (like flicker- good place to start- I have stuff on there...or you could create a blog...have that too)? I'd love to see it!

HeatherH, I checked out your website. I love your pictures, very nice. I am a photography artist as a hobby. I take pictures of mostly nature and edit them in photoshop with selective coloring and things like that so that look like art. I also restore old photos and damaged photos for people too. The DH is starting to build the website but nothing to share yet.

smott, I hope the cramping is a good thing.

Also for anyone doing injections, this website is awesome for teaching you how for all of the injections. Freedom MedTEACH My RE gave me this site for when I start IVF...if I need to .

Let me see if I get this right...
Post wash means the # of Sperm after they wash them (when they take your DH's sample and spin it in a machine). So often times someone will say my husband had 45 million but after the wash there was 11 million. Motility % is the number of sperm that are good swimmers and moving around the way they are supposed too.

The wash takes most of the "loser" sperm out. LOL! What you are left with after the wash is the best of the best so to speak. Unfortunately, a few slow swimmers get through which decreases your motility %.

Does that make sense?

Hi everyone! I'm jumping in here late but I think I'll be doing an IUI around the 6th?? This is my first injectable cycle so I'm not really sure what my body will do. I've done 2 nights of injections so far... I went for bloodwork this morning and I'm to got for 3 more nights. This cycle has been the wierdest since we started TTC. Usually I'm ready to trigger on cd10 but today is already c9 and I won't go back for another u/s until Saturday morning. At the earliest, my IUI would be scheduled for Monday.

Anyone else have longer cycles while on inj.?

Good Luck to all!

Meech- for your 1st iui!! Keep thinking positive! Try to resist poas (pee on a stick) until at least 12dpiui. I know how hard that is, but if you have a before then it can make it hard to remain positive!!

Good luck!!
