Madeese - The HSG isn't too bad. The only pain you have is for like 2-5 min. It feels like bad cramping. I have really bad cramps anyways and so I wasn't too bad. I'm not going to say it didn't hurt, but I thought it would be much worse than it was. Nothing to worry about. I had my DH there too, to hold my hand GOOD LUCK! You'll be fine!!

Thank you for the kind words Madeese. I am taking the day off for my IUI anyway but they are not making it easier.

I am writing from my blackberry in the car because I can't stop crying for some reason. I've been like this for two days and I don't know why. I haven't even started my meds.

I had a HSG done last year and it was unfortable for me because I had a blocked tube but my girlfriend had the same procedure and no discomfort. It was over in a few seconds so it wasn't that bad. Good luck on Monday.

Tippy - Thank you!! I am sooo nervous. If they do find a blockage, do they fix it there? My mind is racing...But I have to say, the support you guys give helps so much!! Thank you!

starfsh25 - I am so sorry! I have been there before, trust me! Just keep thinking "it's the medication" LOL That helped me! The other night I had a on a home test and then a beta test. When I got home that night, I cried for hours. I then woke up at 3am crying and couldn't stop. I think we have learned to be strong but we are humans with a lot of emotions and sometimes you just have to get it out. Why not go buy yourself something you really want or a little pick me up gift. Even if it's a fancy coffee or something - that's what I do. LOL But I am also a shop-aholic! LOL Hang in there!! I'm sorry for your rough day!

Madessa yep, we are pretty darn close... whoo hoo I we all get this cycle.

Well my doctor has changed my meds up a little, not the actual meds but the time taking them. Originally I was to do Clomid 100mg CD3-7 (still doing this), then Follistim 100iu CD8-10, this she has changed to CD8 - 12 so two more days of this and my u/s on CD12 as well.
Has anyone's doc ever done this before? Maybe she just messed up originally and just corrected it on my calendar. Hmmm

Madeese, Is the HSG the same thing as the "dye" test? I had this done about a month prior to starting any IUI's to see if I was all good in there, and I was. It was very very crampy during the procedure and I just wanted to curl in a ball but couldn't because of the x-ray machine thingy being over the top of me. But it only lasted like 10 seconds and then you can relax and the cramping goes away right away. My OB said that sometimes just them shooting the dye in there can open them up. I'm not sure if they fix things right away if there is a more serious blockage though. It was kinda neat though because they had it all on a big screen monitor above me and I could actually see it all. Pretty interesting. Just like the pictures in the health books..lol.

starfsh25, I'm sorry you aren't feeling the best lately. Patience is so difficult to have during all of this IF stuff. I have been really emotional too lately. I have to actually watch something funny on TV at night otherwise I will lay in bed and just think of "poor pitiful me" type of thoughts until I'm crying. I hope you can find a way to cheer up soon. I agree with Madesse, go and buy yourself a little something nice, you deserve it!

As for me, I'm still crazy on Clomid and having hot flashes in 80 degree weather...hahaha. But it's worth it right?? I hope so. Tomorrow I go for my first consultation to discuss IVF if this next IUI doesn't take. It will be nice to sit with the RE now because I have many more questions this time than I did before I started IUI. Hopefully I won't even need the IVF though. I am still praying for us all to have a this month!!!! We can do it!

Thanks TracyB! I don't know why I am so nervous - I need to stop reading horror stories online! LOL

I see that you have decided to go ahead with IVF if this cycle doesn't work. I am struggling with this decision too. I was considering doing 2 months of injectables with IUI before moving on to IVF but I am not sure. What a huge decision!

I, too, hope that we don't even need to deal with that and that this month we get our !!!!

Madeese, you are so funny. Stay away from too many web-sites. Remember that no one who has a pleasurable experience is going to go and post it. It's usually the mad irritated people who want to vent someway by putting it out there for the world to know. I also was having a hard time deciding IUI with injectables or right to IVF. It's tough but I never even wanted to do the IUI's and wanted to just go right to IVF and my RE talked me into trying 3 of them first...blah! I've just done so much reading that the chances of success with low morphology and an IUI working are like 15% and for me I wasn't happy with that. I want the 65%-70% that an IFV gives me. This sometimes feels like I'm wasting my time. I just pray that the doctor proves me wrong and this one actually works. I'm getting old and my DH is getting even older and we really want a family now.

jessicagtalley, I am currently just on 100mg of clomid. I'll have my ultrasound on 5/22 and the IUI will probably be the 25th or so. My RE for my situation only gives me 1 ultrasound a month and it's a day or so before the IUI. But it seems like if there are woman IF issues then they check more often. I also have 1 trigger shot of Ovidrel a day or two before the IUI.

Hello all!

TracyB - You are so right! Only the people needing to "vent" put their stories online I suppose. I guess my nerves are just getting the best of me. But I hope that my tubes are clear and we can go ahead with the next round of IUIs.

My doctor is kind of encouraging me to go to IVF if this cycle of Clomid doesn't work. His point is my age (30) and he told me the medications for injectables/IUI and injectables/IVF are the same so why not maximize my chances. I think (in my own craziness) that I would like to try 2 months of injectables before making the decision to go to IVF. Mainly because of financials. Our insurance does not cover anything! LOL

So, tomorrow I start the Clomid. Sunday and Monday on anti-biotics for the HSG test (also on Monday) and then I believe I will be going for the IUI around my b-day (July 3.)

I am so this works for all of us and we get our !!!

katiep, thanks for praying for all of us! That's really nice of you. I pray for all of us as well. I have been getting really excited for people I have seen in the forum when they finally get to post in the "success stories" thread. Makes me feel good knowing that it is working for people.

Madeese, I understand the financial burden of the IVF. My insurance only covers half of the meds and that's it. But we are all going to have BFP's this month right??? So hopefully we won't have to worry about that IVF or injectable stuff. I'm trying to stay positive anyway. Lots of baby vibes to you! I think when you get the HSG test it's just going to blow a clear path through there and make the next IUI happen. I'll keep my for you! You will be fine on Monday, nothin' to it. Plus all us ladies on here are a bunch of toughies anyway and we can take it!

kremd75, looks like you and I have sort of the same IUI schedule! I will have my IUI probably Wednesday or Thursday next week. I hope your u/s was good today. Baby vibes to you!!

I had my IVF consult today and if by chance this next IUI doesn't work for me I will be off to IVF in the next cycle. I am praying that this IUI is gonna be the ticket though and I don't have to go down that road.
