Talking

welcome Cherrygoround!! Me and my DH met 10 years ago at a friends house when I was only 19 he was 23. We finally got married in 2005 waited a year before we decided we were ready. and now have been trying ever since then. I know it will happen I am just really tired of waiting and watching all my friends get prego in the meantime. So this is our last clomid, overdril and IUI cycle but for some reason I feel it is going to work this month. I know sounds crazy but I always thought I would get prego in Summer. Weird. But if it doesn't work this month we are going to move on to injectables. I look forward to hearing everyone elses stories as well. http://forums.adoption.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Hi Daria

Great attititude Dario! Sometimes those feelings are right on. How is everyone else feeling? Are we all happy? Sad? Excited?! I'm feeling totally calm and chilled and liking all the twinges that the drugs are giving me - means things are working. Follies grow as long as you want! So scan day on Friday and I'm taking a session of acupuncture this cycle....I'm mixing it around.....just to see!!

Hope the sun is shining on all of you today

Anyway, thats what I intend doing this cycle...no negative thoughts - even when I think holy heck, I'm too old and it won't happen. We need to think its not about the numbers 10%, 15% etc., but about US as individuals. Lets make this a good one for everyone!!!

OMG Cherry ! I SOOOO needed that ! First I was bummed that I got a BFN my last cycle. It was so hard mustering up the courage to take all those D@mn shots then doing my first iui to end up with a BFN. But I managed to get my head wrapped around the idea of jumping right back in and doing it again.... but today at my baseline ultrasound -- RE said 2 of my follies didn't collapse. So I'm benched this month. I'm so friggin pis...er, uh... Mad ! (Do they allow curse words on here? Cuz' I've got a few choice ones I'd like to use !!!!!)

At any rate, it's been emotionally cliffs and valleys but your post made me laugh and I figured I'd just enjoy the time off. I plan on drinking alot of champagne because I can.... ! And I'll toast all of you that can't.

Thanks for being here. And as I said before, I'm hooked on this site so I'll be keeping up with you!

Best wishes to all this cycle !!!!

As soon as my cycle starts I will be doing an IUI this next month. I am on day 8 of Prometrium and hopefully will start shortly. If so, then I should do Clomid CD3-7, Ultrasound on CD12, then trigger and IUI. That will probably put me about July 9-10.

I'm from the Atlanta, Georgia area. I have PCOS and rarely seem to have normal AF. I started 1500mg of Metformin 3 months ago and it helped for 2 months, but this month I was totally out of whack again. Trying to save up $$ for the IUIs it may take since insurance doesn't cover anything.

I'm new to this site, so if you want any more details just let me know.

I am STILL waiting for AF!! I took my last Provera on Saturday night, so it's been 4 full days now. The last time I took Provera AF showed up on day 6 of the Provera, so I really wasn't expecting it to take this long... Oh well, hopefully it shows up by the end of the week so I'll still be on the same cycle with you guys!

I'm in the Cleveland, OH area. My husband and I meet almost 8 years ago and got married 4 years ago. We started trying right when we got married, but due to some of my other health issues, my OB wanted me to get tested for a bunch of other things. That, and I never had a regular period. At that time I think I was getting AF every 2 weeks. Anyway, those tests showed elevated male hormones, so I went to my RE. He put me on Femera and Dexamethazone. My first cycle was 25 days and my second cycle was 9 days. So, I called him back and he did and HSG which was all clear. So, then he increased my dose of Dexamethazone and I got pregnant that cycle with my son who is turning 3 this weekend and it's just blowing my mind... But anway, when my son was 6 weeks old I had an IUD put in. So, then I didn't have AF at all the whole time I had that. I had the IUD removed the first week in October of 2007. After that I sort of spotted, and my period wasn't regular, so RE put me on Femera again. Well, we tried for probably 6 months or so with nothing. So, did another HSG which they couldn't confirm that my left tube was open. So, then it was in for the lap surgery in August 08 I think. The surgery showed everything was all clear and they removed some scar tissue. My doctor did not see any cysts on my ovaries. He was going to do "ovarian drilling" if he had, which supposedly corrects PCOS. But, since he didn't see anything he did not do that. So, we started the IUI the next month. I did the Femera and tracked with OPK's and went in for the IUI. I got all the symptoms of ovulation and then I didn't get my period until cycle day 50 with about 2 dozen negative HPTs!!! So, the next cycle we decided to do the u/s monitoring and the Ovidril. We found out at the begining of November that it was a BFN. At that point I felt totally drained, and to do it again the next cycle we would have had to change our Thanksgiving plans and I just felt like I had been through enough for a while. So, we officially went on break from trying. I started exercising and lost 20 pounds (I could use to lose about 30 more), then I had a cycle that went on for 70 days. I think that was end of April when it started. I just decided on cd 3 that I really wanted to try again, so I had my Femera and got started. We went in for the IUI and it was another BFN. So, we started the next month which was this past cycle and this time I didn't get any Follicles!! So, we've been benched this month as I wait for AF. We are now moving on to injectibles. I have my Ovidril and Progesterone chilling in my fridge and my Follistem pen all ready to go, I just need that nasty witch to show up and get this party started!!

So, that's my really, really long winded story!! It feels good to kind of get it out, I must admit!

I was really hoping AF would be here today. I got pretty emotional last night (been under some stress at work), but I was hoping it was AF related... Maybe tomorrow!! I really hope I can join you guys this month and share all this positive energy! I love Cherry's visualization idea, that's fantastic!! I moved my son out of the nursery a year ago (because I was sure I was going to be pregnant any minute), and I've since been avoiding that room all together, it just makes me sad. But, I went in there this morning and just smelled all the smells and memories of my son as a baby, and I think I might be ready to go in that room and think positive thoughts instead of being depressed! I may even get it all cleaned out this month (we've kind of been using it as storage) because I WILL GET PREGNANT AGAIN!!

Good luck ladies!!

Hey thanks for sharing Aphrodite and chtrbxx79 and Hereshopin! So Anyhow, I've been doing the visualisations - myself! In my visualisation - I am kind of Ursula Andress coming out of the sea in that scene from 007....all woman! Ready to take on any man! Anyhow, the drugs are going fine. In for scan tomorrow, so I'll let you know how my follies are. Here'shoping don't forget to have some champagne with a little strawberry in it (my favourite!) I think at the end of the day, you have to be relaxed - it's a bit like when you were out on the dating scene -"trying" to find the one - it never happened, but on the nights where you didn't give a "fig" - all the men came chatting you up! So I guess we have to do the same here - relax, and let it all wash over us.....maybe it'll happen for HH whilst you are on a break - god knows a little bit of action without the drugs should be good!!!!

Aphrodite, I think you should just go back into that room and paint it a different colour and CLEAR it out for your little angel (who WILL come). Even talk to him/her about how you are looking forward to meeting and here's your little place where you'll be loved. Don't view it as a place of sadness - thats a mental block - view it as a place of love and happiness, where lots of old memories with your son were formed and lots of new ones will be formed!! Thats my two cent - its just a suggestion and hope its okay with you!

chtrbxx79! I know its nice to get a welcome as I got one here. I'm also fairly new here aswell. IUI is expensive here too (about $1300) per go: luckily the drugs are subsidised by the Government so the most you pay each month for them is $130. I know, my DH and I just don't go out and can't buy clothes or holidays. Its just a sacrifice we choose to make. It WILL be worth it!!

Happy Thursday Folks!!

XX Cherrygo

HI Ladies,

Aphrodite and chtrbxx9 - I am sorry to hear that the AF is taking her time to show - I hope you are both able to start your cycles very soon!!

I am doing fine - today is CD5 and I took my last dose of Clomid and tonight I start the GonalF. On Monday I am going in for my HSG - I am a little nervous as I have heard others say it can be painful and of course I want everything to look perfect!! Please wish me luck!! I am praying and I will also start visualzing that we get our this month!! I hope we all do!!

Blessings

I spotted a little bit this afternoon so I think AF is very, very near! Hopefully she will show full force by morning!!

Cherry - I love your idea about the room! I think it's time to look at this all with a new light. I've been trying to change the way I think to "I will get pregnant in the next 3 cycles". I really have a renewed hope with moving to the injectibles and finding this site. There are so many success stories here! It's our turn now!

Aphrodite = its gonna happen for you. We have a saying here I feel it in my waters!!! Just relax and let things happen - your body made a baby before and can do it again.

Okay folks today is the scan day......woohoo...hope my follies are growing alright. I've been listening to my relaxation CD before I go to bed. These really help clear the mind and stop all the worry and clutter.

Its the weekend!!! yeay!! Hope everyone has nice plans....Me and DH are having a romantic one...before he has to abstain from me for 3 days.....So he'll be like a cat on a hot tin roof.....He is such a good partner and my best buddie

Iui

My IUI will be around July 2... I am taking 300 of Follistim. I got prego on 150 of Follistim 2 cycles ago. So I am sooo sooo hopeful! I have been a slow responder so they are having me wait 6 days for my U/S so I am really curious how I am responding this time. I have been feeling very full and a bit tender over my overies! So that must be good!

Wow we seem to have a pretty good group. Everyone is so positive which really helps. I am looking forward to hearing everyone's ultra sounds to see how many follicles and sizes. I am so hopeful that we will see lots of BPF's this time.

Well a lot of my story is in my signiture. My name is Lyssa (like Alyssa without the A)... I am from North Carolina. I am a nanny and Mom to our adopted son Austen. We have been married for 4 years and have been trying to have a baby since we got married. We had luck with Follistim two cycles ago, but miscarried at around 7 1/2 weeks. I am a slow responder so we have moved up my meds to 300 from 150 this cycle. I am hoping that does the trick. My best friend starting trying for a baby when we got pregnate. She got pregnate on her second try. We lost ours and she is still going strong! It is so hard to see her growing tummy knowing i would be two months ahead of her. So I am really trying to not be jealous. This is something I am really struggling with! I am a good person, but I can't be the only one who has dealt with this.

Lyssa - I know exactly how you feel. So when I got prego the last time I had 3 friends all get prego at the same time and 2 of them weren't even trying. Now they are all almost due and I have had to hear about everything and watch them get bigger and have showers it is seriously killing me. But I am a good friend and listen and go along with everything like a friend is suppose to it is just so hard. I even feel bad for my husband because he was so excited this last time. We will all get prego and our babies will be so loved because they were so wanted.

Hi y'all! Mind if I join? I am CD1 todya and after a visit with the RE this morning I'll be doing Femara and trigger shot. Hopefully IUI#2 will be lucky for me!

This is my first time on Femara. Any weird side effects? I'm just worried about gaining a lot of weight. I lost 40 pounds over the course of six months last year, and I've kept it off for 6 months. I'm trying to make sure things don't creep back up. Has anyone expirienced major weight gain on Femara? I'm hoping to save the pounds for pregnancy! ;-)

Hope you all are doind well, and Happy Weekend.

BTW - Cherry - you asked about B2B IUIs. My RE doesn't do them. She ran a clinical trial at Ohio State University that found B2B IUI doesn't significantly increase your chances when you have a timed IUI so all of the ladies at my clinic in Central Florida fly solo (so to speak).
