Hi ladies-
I am waiting to have my third IUI. It's been pushed back a few times now but I think we are finally a go on Saturday the 4th. I am a poor responder with diminished reserve so it takes me a while to respond. Can't wait to trigger tomorrow. I had 1 follie at 17mm this morning and 2 at 15mm with a lining of 8. My RE asked me to trigger tomorrow instead of tonight so I gave them an extra day or so to grow. Mind if I join you too?

wow starfsh thats kind of cool having your IUI on July 4th! Wishing lots of fireworks in every way that day!

Hi Starfsh - I'm having my first IUI on the 4th of July too! I'm brand new to this part of the forum (IUI) -- Ihad to abandon an IVF a few weeks ago for non response. My RE told me to move on and think about egg donation and adoption given my lack of response to the clinic's most aggressive IVF protocol - I went right to that IVF protocol after all my tests showed how difficult this road was going to be for us. Needless to say, I told my RE that I wasn't ready to give up that easily and begged her to try different protocols with me. She suggested trying a clomid IUI just to see my response... On Tuesday I found out that I had three follicles, 17, 18 and 19mm. When I went through the IVF injections, I didn't have any response so I'm at least hopeful now that something could work for me in the future!
Would love to join the group too if I can -- this website has been so amazing! Me - 36, one ovary, FSH 15.9, AMH <.1 DH - 32, perfect June 2009 IVF #1 - 450 Follistim, 2 vial Menopur, Microdose Lupron Abandoned at day 8 due to no response Clomid IUI - July 4.....

So my IUI went well... My Dr was so funny. He was so excited about my mucus. He was like I bet you have never heard that before... LOL he was to funny. Which makes it easier you know!
My hubby had 58 million post wash. Which is the best we have had yet... By the way for those that aren't sure about the counts... He had 52 million when we got prego. They asked us to BD on the night of the trigger and then not to do anything until the donation. Well last cycle the menapur had my hormones so hyped up I "made" him BD the night before the IUI and his count was 17 million. I am a believer now... I guess I thought it was ok since it would be in my system. Well I learned my lesson. We probably wasted the whole cycle because my hormones were sooo wild... LOL So this cycle is following along very closely to the cycle with got prego on. Now we just need to keep this one!!!!

Hi meech hope your IUI went well. I kind of think something similar happened to me this cycle as Lysanne - as I was seriously feeling sexy and I hopped on my DH not quite 48 hours before our cycle of IUI thus our count was down to 10 million. Anyhow, we've
 that night - just in case the 10 million wasn't enough and then this morning as I'm now 2dpiui (but they timed my IUI so that I still hadn't ovulated yet - they wanted the swimmers to get a head start on the egg to surround it and ambush it and make it not have a chance to get away from those spermies!!) Anyhow, My DH is kind of feeling negative because of the low amount of sperm - he has no faith this cycle...but I'm still positive. It does kind of suck that he thinks this cycle is going to fail.No cramps, no side effects from progesterone suppositories - no nothing this cycle...its like a charm - no mental agony - I'm cool calm collected and positive. Is this all too good to be true?? Hope everyone is feeling good this 4th july w/end! XX cherrygo

Yeah I am now sure that we have to follow the rules about BD. I was not so sure it would make a differance. Cherry you sound so positive. That I am sure you cover all of your bases... I would feel good in knowing you had the IUI early!
Our Dr is very funny and is always telling jokes and making sure we are laughing... I love him!! Funny enough I am a nanny and after i made my first appoitment with him I found out my boss got prego with the little boy I watch by the same DR... He also did the IUI that worked for us. So we call him our good luck charm!!! We were joking that Carman Electra was also a good luck charm because of the super high count was got on the cycle that worked. She was not available this time so I hope Kara Monico is also good luck... I know TMI, but I thought it was funny!

Just wanted to pop in and say HELLO ! And Best of Luck to you all during your 2 ww! I know this board made all the difference in the world getting thru it.
I did have a question though... For an IUI -- the hubby's swimmers are "washed" (so-to-speak). How long do those post washed spermies actually live? I thought hubby's "low-tech" way the average is 5 days inside but what about the ones they prep for the IUI??? Just curious what any of your RE's have said... At any rate,  Happy 4th of July !--H.H.
