Naomi - I took Clomid a total of 7 times over the last year and a half (none with Metformin or IUI) and I took it at night. It helped a little with the side effects, but I still got the hot flashes. I never got really super emotional, but more sensitive to things than I was on a normal basis.

I guess several of you have taken the HcG shot before. What are the normal side-effects for that? I've never done it. And how many days should you wait until you test? I know you can get a false BFP if you test too soon. That would be awful! But I also don't know if I have the willpower to hold out for a blood test. Any thoughts?

Even though you all are so very nice, I really wish I did not need to join you all but came today and we are on IUI#2. I will be probably about the 13/14/15-ish. My Dr does b2b iuis.

I am on the same drug protocol - 200mg clomid/day for 5 days and I start Bravelle again on cycle day 5 assuming my Day 3 u/s is clear. I responded "perfectly" last cyle so here is to hopin'!! .

Leslie, I just took the HCG shot last month and I had no serious side effects from it. (I POAS the next morning just to have the satisfaction of seeing 2 lines... crazy huh?) I think the progesterone that I was taking was messing with me more than anything. I was terrified for DH to give me that trigger shot because the needle was so intimidating but to my surprise, it was no where near as bad as I was making it out to be in my head. They say you work out about 1000 units per day, so roughly 10 days if you have a 10,000 unit dose. I might wait till 12 days past trigger just to be sure not to get a false positive.

Just went to the RE and I have no cysts... again PRAISE GOD!! I am just waiting on the results of the blood work now and if everything is good there... the DH can give me my first shot of the cycle tonight. I am having an awful migrain headache today and I think that it is from coming off of the progesterone. Does anyone else get migraines when the stop the suppositories? This really stinks. Well ladies it is official today. I just got the call

I knew it was coming but it is still a shock to hear. I can't help but feel like I have lost all hope. I guess I was holding out for a miracle

So now I am left waiting for to arrive so I can get back in there.

I think I am going to go unmedicated this cycle and hope that I will have some follies so we can go ahead with IUI. Guess I have until my baseline u/s to make a decision.

Sorry that we are all still here! that we all end up with April babies.

AFM- Got my blood work back and my FSH is 6.1 and my E2 is 31.4 which is good, so I am on for the injections. YEAH!!!

I am sorry about the BFN Nicky. Can I ask why you are going to do this IUI unmedicated this cycle?

I go in tomorrow morning for my baseline u/s and bloodwork. Assuming all is OK, I will start my meds this weekend.

chtrbxx thanks for the info..just took the first clomid tonight and since is a holiday weekend none of my coworkers should have to put up with me being moody(er)lol...it is hard to hide what is going on with me becuz of where i work and what i do...
i think i am sensitive to hcg cuz (i only had ovidrel once)but 1 or 2 days after i had odd bouts of nausea and gagging from a smell here or there and that is unusual for me..but it seems like a lot of people have no noticeable side effects.. then they went away and a week later it came back with a vengeance but i found out i was preggers..course we lost it and all the symptoms went away ...ask your dr when you see them when the ovidrel should be out of your system everyone is different ..course if your like some of us you will just find cheap hpt and test everyother day (to see the false positive lol) and then see when you get your first negative..it is kinda neat ..good luck

nicky sorry for the BFN good luck this cycle..it will come...do you ovulate on your own usually with the pcos or are you just hoping for the best...I tried two natural cycles and got no follies after my first round of clomid..are you trying to save money perhaps..what ever you do good luck

heather sorry you are here/glad ur here?..it is an oppurtunity perhaps...We have one son and I think he waited so long to happen becuz he wanted to be so much like his daddy he waited for the opportunity to almost have his b-day(they almost have the same one) and he is like his clone almost lol..maybe your baby to be is wanting to be just like his mommy or daddy so he/she is waiting for just the right moment!

Kimmy it's ON...good luck to you this cycle..I had a nasty headache for the past two days but i had only been taking the progesterone for a couple of days and then went off for 5 days so i don't think it's that for me(odd my hubby had a two day headache and thought it was the flu but all is better now and he never gets sick)..sympathy headache maybe..hope you feel better and good luck!

thought she'd visit me last night, so I think this group will be the right time frame for us. I hope it's true that the 3rd time's a charm in our case. Well after a slight panic that we may have to either cancel the cycle this month OR cancel our vacation. But after all was said and done, with a little rearranging and the blessing from the doctor, we are able to do the cycle this month AND go on vacation...yay!!! I start the injections tonight...and go back Sunday for a recheck...here's hopin this is our month girls!!!!!!

Heather / Dylan'smommy - I was thinking about going unmedicated for a few reasons, the main being that during this past Follistim cycle I had all the spotting and I still can't get an answer from my RE as to what caused it. Apparently my hormone levels were all good so there was no reason for it. I was thinking about taking a break from all the meds but now the more I think about it.. I don't know if I will. I would like to do a natural cycle monitored to see if I do ovulate but then again I don't want to possibly 'waste' a cycle so I will probably do Femera again as Clomid didn't work well with my lining.

Charlie'smom - Glad that you are able to still go ahead with this cycle and go on vacation!! Hopefully that will be the winning combo for you

Moody - I felt the same way when I got the call from my RE. Even though I knew the result was going to come back negative, I was so miserable all afternoon. You will start to feel better, just try to focus on this new cycle. I know it is hard but just remember that will all the we had this past month, the odds are looking great for a It will happen. Hey all! I've been quite busy today and am just now catching up on the posts...

Charliesmom - HORRAY! I'm so glad you were able to get it all figured out and to both vacation and cycle this month! What a relief. It's funny but this month, we are going to TX for a family reunion in a couple weeks, and if I had started AF when I was supposed to, I probably wouldn't have had the chance to do this cycle. But I know Heavenly Father had a plan and I started almost a week early, and because of that, I'll definitely be able to get my cycle in and vacation this month too!! How amazing to know it's not our timing, but His.

Moody/Nicky - I am soooo terribly sorry that last month was your month. It is so hard to hear that news and I completely sympathize with you. You have every right to be miserable, but try and find something positive to think about! I know it's much easier said than done, but relieving that stress and being positive, could really be the trick!

As far as I go, I just started clomid today (cd3) and will continue until cd7. 100mg. Next dr. appt. is cd12, July 10.

Hi all!
I am on CD 5 as of today. I am taking 100 mg Clomid even though there are no probs with me. My hubby has LSC.
We are using donor sperm and I am so excited. I just feel like this is it! I am going to get pregnant now!
I'm prolly jinxin' myself. It's scary though since nothing is covered by insurance! Total cost will be $3000 with the donor sperm.

Question for those who are on IUI #2 + +, how do you cope? How do you make sure you don't suffer when/if that egg doesn't fertilize? I am really afraid that I may lose it!
