here she comes...mommytobezilla!!

I start Clomid tonight. So exciting. Going shopping with a friend today and I'm going to buy DH a new video game as a preemptive "I'm sorry for being a crazy person" gift. I'm nervous and a little scared of what I'm going to be like. We're both excited and recognize that this is all to get us a baby so we're willing to go through with it!!

Good luck to all you ladies that have already had your IUI's or are about to! So lucky! I'm thinking about you all and hope everything sticks!!

smott...Welcome sweetie! You're very welcome to "join"! Glad to have you, and wishing you the best of luck this cycle...You've had such a great pg history, it's just a matter of getting you a sticky one sweetie! We're going to help!! Just a thought, but have you considered taking baby aspirin? There are a lot of thrombo and immuno issues out there that get dx'ed with IF and sometimes just a low dose aspirin a day can be all it takes for some women to carry to term. It can also help with implantation failure...Just a thought sweetie! I think Bravelle is going to be your ticket!! Good luck!

I promise to do more personals later, but just wanted to update everyone on my Cd9 appointment this morning. I know you've all been sitting on the edge of your seat just waiting to hear how my appointment went...(Yes that was sarcasm! ) I think things are going good...I am a little disappointed the RE is reducing my dosage of Follistim. He said in the appointment that if we don't, we'll have 10 ovulations....I said, "YAY" that what I want! He said not to mention his name when the reporters call! So, he reduced me anyway! Fooey! I did email him later on another question, and so threw that one in there, and he said he doesn't want me in the hospital, so he is reducing me for a couple days. Anyway, my follies are moving slower than usual, which I'm not sure if that's good or bad..? I'm going with good...Different has got to be better, right?! It may be that they're having to share the FSH amongst them, so are going slower?? Does that theory even have a medical leg to stand on? Not sure, but that's what I'm going with...

So, here's my stats for cycle day 9 (7 of stims):
Left: 12.76mm, 11.35mm, 10.93mm, 10.26mm, 9.98mm and 8 to 9 less than 10mm
Right: 13.16mm, 12.12mm, 11.72mm & 8 to 9 less than 10mm
Lining: Triple Striped and 8.34mm (thickest at this stage yet...Yay!)
E2: 1162 pg/ml

So, like I mentioned he's reducing me to 175IU (from 250IU) for today and tomorrow, Ganirelix starts tomorrow morning, and then I go in on Sunday for a recheck. I have a picnic at my Mom's for my sister who is visiting from out of state on Sunday, so I'll be late, but for an awesome reason!! Hope there's great news so I can sit around all day smiling with a belly full of impending eggies. Hugs my chicas, and this is going to happen for us all!! We got this one!!

Yep...I'm old, had a poor IVF/ICSI, and m/c history, so I'm going for as many as I can get without risk to me...They're willing to do what I wish, as long as I'm on board, and aware of the risks, which I am...I'm running out of chances, opportunity, and frankly money, so we're getting aggressive at this stage. We are responsible and have discussed the possibility of mulitples and are prepared to make some hard decisions down the road, if need be. I physically am a tall larger-framed person, and have a nice thick cervix, etc...So should be able to carry multiples, but not so many that I'm putting the others at risk, so will be responsible. It would be the hardest decision I'd have to make, and not one made lightly, but am prepared if that should happen. Some may argue on this decision, but that's a personal choice we've made for ourselves. (Thank you all for respecting that.) Anyway, that's something that is only a possibility, and I don't want to make it sound like this is an inevitable. It could be that even with all these, there is failure in our future, but I'm not wanting to go out without a fight...This is our last cycle of 2009, and possibly ever...We're still looking at our options for the future...Didn't realize you were going to get a page for a reply to that simple question, hah? Sorry hon...Just a difficult decision for us, and not the ideal situation to be taking the risk, but we are not oblivious to possible outcomes...Thanks for the congrats, and I sure hope that in a short time we all have some awesome news to share!!

Thanks Naomi!

i'm all for it girl ..you seem very aware of what is going on medically and with your body so you and your husband need be the only ones concerned with the numbers...i hope the best for your outcome and the little ones to be...(i've thought of multiples and know we are not a good candidate for more than one altho 2 would be lovely but my fragile self(sarcasm)couldn't handle more than one since my ds was over 8lb and i think my stretch marks got stretch marks lol)thin skin or somethin
anyway good luck

Charity- It is so good to hear your numbers! I am excitied. My first month with IUI everything moved along slower, but I would rather slow than imperfect. I think you are going to have a great chance this month, and I am excited for you. Oh, and don't worry about what others think about the decisions you have to make if you have multiples... According to my family, I am going to hell in a handbasket (wait for it).... for using IF treatments and donor sperm! I guess if it is wrong, at least we will be there together Oh, and did I mention that this comes from a family where people struggle to make ends meet with their 4 kids....hmm

Ally- Thanks. As far as the 2ww goes... I think I have handled it quite nicely. The first month I was a CRAZY person. Last month I was great until 13-14dpiui, then had the overwhelming need to POAS. This month I have decided to disregard until beta time. My dh supports me in this, and it helps me not get my hopes at the top of the rollercoaster peak! I am a total control freak, so the best thing I could have done was found my peace with God about being okay either way (pregnant or not). How are you holding up with sitting out?

KatKat- How are you doing? There are definitely girls on here that have gotten pregnant with one tube. Don't let that number discourage you, afterall... every month we keep telling ourselves all we need is one!

How is everyone else?? Sorry if I've missed out on anything in my crazy days at work!

AFM, I am still spotting after IUI. That hasn't happened before, but it has with water u/s when my RE did things. This is the first time my RE did my IUI and not one of the Nurse Practitioners, so not worried. I was able to lay down in the truck on the way home, and come home and catch a nap before work yesterday. I hope that extra lay down time is all I needed (yes, I know research doesn't support the lying down, but it can't hurt).

I had another busy night at work. I am just thankful that I help deliver babies for a living because I can get my baby fix when I am at work. One of the docs I work with might have me watch her triplets tomorrow so she can have a date night with her dh since he is deploying. Fun! I am just dreading having to place their feeding tubes for meal time, but I am sure it will be okay! I have done it with other little ones before.

Okay, sorry for the novel. Talk to you ladies later!!!

Had my cd3 monitoring today

Charity - it sounds like your cycle is off to an awesome start!! That's great, I have a really good feeling for you this cycle!!

Alldeliveries - how old are the triplets? Why are they on feeding tubes? I think it would be so cool to deliver babies but I don't think I could handle it if something went wrong in the delivery - how do you cope with that??

Namoi - any progress with your follicles? When is your next scan?

AFM - Here's what I found out, E2 = 30, and FSH = 5.6, I had 4-5 small follies on the right and 7 on the left if I understood the ultrasound tech correctly.

I have no idea what this really means, but I guess okay, because they are going to have my start on the follistim tomorrow night at 150 units for 4 days then back in on Wednesday (day 8 I think) for a follie and lining check with bloodwork. I'm so excited to get started!!

Charity - Thank you for sharing all of your very deepest and honest thoughts on this board. I think a lot of us fear the possibility of that twisted ironic situation of many multiples. I think that if I were in your position, I would take the same course. Here's the thing . . . it would be a tough situation, but you have already been through so much and it has made you so very stong (like Wonder Woman!!!). There's no doubt in my mind that you would be able to deal with it like a champ!!!

That said, congrats on your follies. I think this will be your month and I think it's going to stick!! I really do. I have a sense about these things - I know it sounds crazy. I knew on the last month's board that 2 particular people would be from the start . . . I knew my BFF would be pregnant right away with not even trying, I had a sick feeling I would have problems before we even started TTC. Anyway, YOU are the one on my radar this month. IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!! And I think only 1 or 2 . . .

Guess I am having some side effects from the HCG shot this morning, I have felt nauseous most of the day and threw up once, plus I have had a headache all day, started crying for no reason. I never remember feeling like this on follistim before, of course it has been almost 3 years since I took it. I am hoping this does not effect anything for tomorrow. My dh is being so great and told me he thought it would be cool to have twins. I am just hoping for one healthy baby but maybe he has good intuition.

Charity- Good luck to you. Sounds like you are progressing well. I know what you mean about last chance, we are only trying this once maybe twice and then we are done. IVF is too expensive and so hard on me emotionally and physically. As for your decisions on your follies, it is your choice and only you know what is right for you.

Thanks Katkat, I hope it is all of our time and everyone gets their this month.
Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Aphrodite- The triplets are about 5 months old. They were born at 27 weeks gestation (suppose to be 40). They spent a couple of months in the NICU from being early. With TLC they are home and doing pretty well. She also had fertility treatments (Clomid I believe). I guess the reality of IF is that we risk having multiples, and multiples generally don't make it to 40weeks gestation. Our uterus's just aren't built that way, especially mine. It scares me that if I ever end up with multiples, none of them would make it because of my uterus being so messed up.

Hi ladies,

Looks like my IUIs will be on July 23 and 24, assuming my follies grow to where they're supposed to be. I'm on my 3rd day of Clomid, then start my Climara patch on Monday. Hope this is our time!!!
