Hey everyone, I am pretty sure this is where I belong, though this is going to be my first cycle with injectables so we will see. I am on cd3 now and started my meds lastnight. Last month my IUI was on the 15 but I think I will be around the 10-12 this month, we will see!! I just read an article about using clomid to increase sperm count in men, anyone heard of this before? My DH count isn't low but isn't high either. I had never heard of using clomid in men at all. It said it can help if men have a low count and low testosterone.

dylansmommy- I am on follistim and it is way easier than I thought it would be. I was really nervous about giving myself the shot, but so far I have done 2 and it isn't bad at all. I decided to move onto injectables because they have a higher success rate with IUI and since I am paying out of pocket for the IUI I decided I better get the most bang for my buck. I did way to many cycles of clomid and 6 of letrozol and at most got 1 follicle, I am praying for 2 or so this cycle so maybe one will stick. Best of luck to you this cycle and if you have to move to injectables, have no fear, it doesn't even hurt!!

Unhappy Bad AF

Hi,

I had my first IUI in July and on CD2 and AF is awful, has anyone had bad cramping/AF since starting IUI/clomid cycles? the pain is unbearable and I've been clotting a lot =(

a kashawlic thanx for sharin, glad it is not bad for you(the needles)lol always hated them but will do anything i have to good luck to you and hopefully this one takes for both of us....if not for me i feel a tad better about moving on to injectibles...as i might be paying for all of it out of pocket soon...good luck

meg sorry you are havin a bad af...i went from never having one to bad pain to no pain but super heavy bleeding..i can't reassure you except to say i hope it gets better for you or at least goes by fast. if something really concerns you call your dr. office that is what they are there for and should be happy to help. good luck.

good luck to the rest of you

naomi

ps..i almost forgot..wasn't sure i would be able to get off of work for iui this cycle (if i ovulate at all) but if this cycle goes like the one in june where i got my bfp then the day of my iui will coincide with the 2 week shutdown at my workplace and my dh will have enuf vacation to take a half a day(omg he'll just love that lol ...Not!) but if it falls on the same cycle day it will fall on a saturday and that would be too easy lol...we will see

thanks naomi, it has gotten better now than it was this morning!

dylansmommy and nicky - it would be awesome to share a May baby with an anniversary! i hope it works out!! keeping my for all of us here!! incidently i just found out my sister will also be getting married the end of May! I am hoping May is a lucky month!

so it's interesting, i guess diff RE's work differently, i don't go in for u/s until cd 12 and then they did the trigger shot the same day and did IUI the day after but did an u/s b4 the IUI to check on size of follies! no b/w till cd20 for progestorone levels - no u/s b4 start of comid or anything, kinda worries me a little!!

PS: has anyone done accupuncture with IUI? my cousin's wife is an accupuncturist and she recommended i talk to someone locally about it!

Waiting for to go away!!

Dylansmommy, hope it goes well this round and you can get another and you have the time off of work. I am just happy to have received the thumbs up for this round. I start the follistim tonight. I really do hope that the 3rd time is the charm.

I Love Target!!!!

Morning all!

I had a great weekend and I hope you all did too!

I am still on my Clomid and I wanted to advise on how to save some $$ on it!

As you may have read, we pay completely out of pocket for everything, including Clomid. I went to Rite Aid pharm to fill the Rx and they wanted $79.99 for 150 mg for 5 days! That isn't in our budget. Seriously, I am on a super strict budget!

My friend suggested I go to Target which has the discounted medications. I went there and asked them how much it would be for the Rx, they said $24! That is HUGE as far as I'm concerned!

So, if your ins doesn't cover Clomid I am suggesting you try out Target.

Also, our Target is new and it has a Starbucks.... Yummm!

Gregslady - I get my Clomid at our Walmart Pharmacy and it is only $9 per 50mg. I get 100mg for $18. Not too bad either if you don't have a target close by!

I'm on CD7 and will take my last Clomid tonight. Hoping this is our month!

Yes, I am in Taxachusetts (mandated ins)

I'm in Michigan and we are not a mandated state so ... that's that I guess! I wish I had coverage but I do not! I have looked into getting a rider or a whole separate plan because I think if this doesn't work we will eventually do IVF, but it's too expensive for us right now.

I am surprised at how much IUIs are and the meds. I wonder if a gyno does IUI if its cheaper. hmmm

I just went today for b/w and ultrasound. The tech saw a bunch of small egg follies on left and 17mm one on right. But I will wait to hear from Boston IVF for the finality of what is what. They are going to put me on some additional med Ganirelix to supress my ovulation a little.

Anyone on this med?

Hey ladies. I wasn't going to join another group, but I decided to go ahead and join. I will just have to control how much I visit! I went in today for baseline u/s and all is well to get started on IUI #4! If this one doesn't work we are moving on to IVF. That is the plan. We are doing straight injectables this month, so let us hope that it brings us a May baby!

I had an u/s and b/w this morning and it looks like I may be having my IUI a little earlier than I thought. I have a ton of small follicles and 2 that are 10mm or so. They raised my dose of meds and told me to come back thursday than we will most likely do a trigger shot thursday night, maybe friday!! Good luck to everyone getting all our meds in so we can all have beautiful may babies!!
