Sounds like everyone is just plugging along, waiting for the IUI is almost as bad for me as the 2ww. It seems like the injections and re appointments consume you and then finally, they IUI. I go in the morning for the u/s and b/w, hopefully they won't have to up my dosage of follistim because I am cranky enough as it is. I hate goint to work and wish everyone would just quit talking. Question for ladies that went through IUI before (sorry I'm little nervous and not sure what to expect)...
How long do you lie down for after IUI procedure? I thoguht I heared it's between 15 and 20 min but I'm not sure. Is it ok to still go to work after IUI or do you ladies recomend to take a day or at least couple of hours off?

skyhope my re told me to lay there after the iui for 10 minutes..don't worry them little guys won't escape after they are put in...my iui was on a saturday but i woulda worked...glad i didn't haveto cuz i was crampy and uncomfortable and tired after...good luck to you

Had an ultrasound today - 2 follies at 15 mm. They are wondering why there are two since I'm unmedicated. I am so happy that there's still the possibility of twins. I was afraid that my life stress the last 48 hours might have made them disappear.

You know how follies are supposed to grow 1-2 mm per day? Well mine grew 1/2 - 1 mm per day over the last 2 days. I'm hoping that doesn't mean something is wrong. Anyone have ay idea if the seemingly slow growth of my follies means anything?

BrendaP - I hear you on feeling like a pin cushion! My arms and stomach don't look too good at the moment

skyhope - after my IUIs, my RE has me stay as I am for about 5 to 10 mins and the last 2 times I did go to work. I am thinking about taking half a day off this month, I guess it will depend on the day / time of my IUI.

Well I go back to the RE first thing tomorrow morning. Love these early morning appointments
I hope my follies have grown enough that I don't have to get a refill for my Follistim.

I have been exercising my positive thinking all day today. I really think it has helped, for once I wasn't nervous going into the the RE like I normally am.

My hotflashes have subsided. I am feeling better! Thank GOODNESS! I have been killing time at the new Target by my house! It has STARBUCKS! I don't know if I mentioned that!

Question for the group... Do you look at baby stuff when you're in a store? I used to. I even bought stuff. I had a diaper genie for 3 years because it was on clearance! I eventually gave it to a friend. I stopped going into the baby section but I'm wondering what the rest of you gals do? Are you an avoider? Do you have your registry all picked out? LOL

Greg'slady - I always look at baby things when at Target. There is one close to my work so when I really need to get out but don't have anything to do I will go there. I have bought a few things but I always get in trouble when I get home and show DH

Well I went for monitoring this morning and they triggered me I wasn't expecting that!! I go for my IUI tomorrow at 1.45pm. I guess I fall out of the date range for this group now but I don't want to leave you ladies so I hope you will let me stay.. I guess if anyone objects, I can always change the date range since I created this thread

I really wasn't expecting to have my IUI on Friday! It looks like I only have 1 follie but I am ok with that as identical twins run in my family

Hi Ladies~ I'm hoping I can join you. I'm new to the board but could use some !

I started gonal f on CD3(7/27) and will go for my 1st iui sometime in the next week or so. I had my 3rd U/S this morning (CD 11) and I had 3 follies (11, 11, 12). I'm really bummed because when I went on Tuesday, they were at 10, 10, 11. So, I guess I'm a slow grower! I think my e2 levels are low too because on Tues they were only at 143. I'm not sure if only having one ovary has something to do with it?

I'm only taking 75 units of gonal f and am hoping that they'll increase it to help speed things along.

At this rate, I'll have to order a new pen for the weekend. This is getting expensive (mostly out of pocket for me)!!

I'm just so anxious to get through the shots and onto the iui!

Nicky, good luck tomorrow and of course you are welcome here. Lindy and . I hope your RE ups your meds if your levels are low. Last cycle mine was low and they called me 2 hours after my apt and told me to up. AFM, I went to RE this morning, there are actually 6 follies that he saw total, there was a 9.2 and 10 and the rest were 7's. He told me to stay on the same dosage of 200 of the follistim unless they call and my estrogen is too low then we will raise to 225. I really hope that it is right on track and I can stick with what I'm on. I go back on Monday for my next apt so I am really hoping that we have some good numbers then. As far as buying and looking at baby stuff. We have only a few things. With each cycle we picked up an item hoping that we would need it. I have to outfits and a pack of diapers, but that's it so far. for all of us.

I'm on CD 13 and just had an ultrasound this morning. I have 3 follicles. (15.1mm, 11mm on Left & 10.7mm on the Right). If I get a positive OPK tomorrow then I go for the IUI on Saturday. If not, then I have another US on Saturday and then will probably have to do the trigger shot then. I was hoping to be able to trigger today and have the IUI on Saturday. I have a question, how big do the follicles have to be to release?

I'm taking my last Gonal F shot tonight 300iu and then we have to BD in the early AM (my DH works until midnight) and of all days, tomorrow I have a 9AM meeting with a client. So much for sleep. Tomorrow night I trigger with Ovidrel at 9PM and IUI is set for 10:45 AM on Saturday! this is it! Brenda, you might be right along with me.

Yes, I may be..... I just went for my third bw/us of this week. It looks like I have 2 follies on left ovary that measure 16mm and 17mm that they will try to work with. I wait to hear from the nurse in the afternoon but yesterday she mentioned maybe Fri or Sat for the IUI. Yippie. Cannot wait to get this over with. Thinking positive. Do you go to Boston IVF?

BrendaP- I am with you. I know I need a break. I was so focused and positive when I started these IUIs, but now I just need a break from all of the needlesticks and hormones. I can’t sit down to a meal and eat without feeling so sick. So glad you have two follies in the running this month!

Meg1981- these RE’s are going to think I have created monsters with the IPOD. LOL. They should atleast have a radio in there playing music. It just feels so impersonal!

Skyhope- Aug 10 is the day of my u/s! I hope I will be following right behind you with my IUI. To answer your question about lying down: My RE lets me stay there for 10-15 minutes. Last time I laid down in the truck the whole 45 min drive home too. I am still here though. Research shows it doesn’t really matter how long you lie down. I think it just makes us all feel better!

Mooody- Aww… I am sorry it makes you so cranky. I am sure that is what the meds do to me too. I don’t feel like I have any control over my outbursts sometimes.

Mom43- My first cycle (medicated) also had very slow growing follies. Sometimes, it is just that way. I don’t believe it means anything is wrong though.

Nicky- Yay! You are already ready to go. Glad you didn’t need to refill that follistim.

Greg’s Lady- I do look at the baby stuff as I walk by, but I refuse to purchase for the fear of jinxing anything. Right now I get my baby fix because I have two preggo friends (one I just threw a shower for this last weeked, so I bought her stuff). Also I am a Labor and Delivery nurse, so I get my fixes there too. Sometimes it sucks though. For example, I just delivered a 16yo in March, and she is pregnant again already. ARGH!

Lahamilton- It just depends on who you ask. My RE wants them at 18 or larger. However, on my first cycle I OPK’d positive just after one measured 17.5.


AFM, today is day 4 of injections. Three more days to go. I am really hoping for good results on Monday u/s. Yesterday, was DH's birthday. We went out to eat in Boise, and watched The Ugly Truth- it was pretty hilarious- just a tad crude.

AllDeliveries, I work at a Teen Health Center. Yeah, I see that kind of stuff all the time too. It's maddening!

OK I have a question. I am on cd9 and have 2-3 follies. One was 17, one 11 and one was hiding according to the u/s tech and she couldn't get a good reading. I also have a ton of small follies, over 20, but they are are all super small.THe nurse id going to call me sometime this afternoon with my estrogen level to see if IUI will be Saturday or Sunday. What should the level be around at this point in my cycle? I have never done IUI so early but I have also never been on injectable meds before so this is all new to me.I just kinda want to wait a little and let the two smaller follies get a little bigger to increase my chances. I would much rather twins than a .
