Hi Newroad. I'm joining you because I'm in the same boat. I had my first IUI and DH's count was only 1 million post wash. I know the chances are slim, but miracles do happen. Plus, I figure it is good to have low expectations the first try. When was your IUI?

Good luck!!! Like my NP said, it only takes one.

Hi Ladies..
dont give up... our story is..(the short version)
we started trying 3 1/2 yrs ago... i had my 1st IUI with just 1.3 million sperm and i had a bfp, it did end after 6 weeks but it did happen...then i had 6 more iui, nothing... then DH had varricocele surgey, his count increased to 36 million... we were soooo thrilled... so we prepared for my 1st IVF/ICSI, day of procedure, his count was down to 3 million. we were devestated..after procedure and 2 weeks went by i got a BFN, then we did a FET, his count went up to 5 million, BFN, i was giving up... took 5 months off of everything.. he started on strovite vitamins (rx only) no caffeine, lose undies, i prepared for another Fresh cycle IVF/ICSI, day of procedure his count was less than 1 million.... 2 weeks went by, i got my BFP, another 4 weeks went by and 1st ultra sound, its twins... we now have 2 beautiful girls.... please dont give up, as much heartache and devastation you go thru, looking back, when you hold your baby, its all worth it... we have 7 frozen embroys now and hoping to use them soon... please dont give up, good luck to you all!

Jessica - Congratulations and thank you for your response!!

Cindy - It is such a tough road. This is actually our 5th IUI and our numbers have been so all over the board we never know what to expect - but more often then not we are on the very low end.

inhishands - Thank you so much for sharing your story!! Just curious why with your 1st IVF/ICSI cycle it mattered if the counts were low? I thought that with ICSI it did not really matter how low the counts were? Just curious because if this cycle does not work we are moving on to IVF/ICSI. Thank you again!!

Newroad, I am going to hope and pray that 1 million is a lucky number for both of us.

Jessica and Inhishands -- thanks for sharing your stories. They provided just the pick me up that I needed.

Thanks ladies!!

We had success with IUI and only 1.3 mil post wash. I believe it was around 5 mil before wash.

Plus, we are having twins. It only take one (or two in our case).

That is awesome, Makenalelu! So exciting.

I actually go for my blood test tomorrow. Still no AF, but I've felt like I've had it all weekend. I'm trying to be realistic, but still hoping for a nice surprise tomorrow.

Good luck everyone!!

Hi everyone. Well, put me a down for a . I had very low expectations at the beginning, but then my delayed AF gave me a little inkling of hope. Oh well, at least I know the ropes now. Still waiting for AF. Hopefully she'll get her soon.

How's everything going with you, New Road? I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Cindy

Cindy - I am so sorry!! But this will happen for you - it will happen for all of us!! Thank you for wishing me luck!! I don't hold out a lot of hope - wish I could but the odds are stacked against us. But I must say we have delt with so many 'VERY RARE' occurences that it almost would make sense that we would get pregnant with 1mil or less spermies I am moving onto IVF if this cycle does not work. I have my new Dr. consult this Thursday. I am feeling hopeful, excited, scared and nervouse for this next step - but it is where we need to go. God's Blessings to all of us!!

Thank you Neworad! I'm still holding out hope for you with this IUI. But, good luck with your new doc consult, too. It is so therapuetic to also start looking forward. Let me know how the consult goes.

It looks like is finally here. I have my baseline ultrasound and labs on Saturday; if things go like they did last month, I'll probably have IUI #2 around August 16. I'm excited about it, though. DH is also going for an ultrasound this week to see if there could be any factors causing the low swimmer count (pllus he had some pain a few weeks ago.) We're moving in the right direction.
