Seeking IUI Information

Hi Everyone,
I was reading in another thread that someone had 2 IUI's on two consecutive days? I am new to all of this and wondering if 1 or 2 is normal once you take the trigger shot? I only had one IUI. I am currently 7dpiui and just trying to gather as much information as possible for the future.

Thanks for any responses.

Hi,

My RE likes to do "back to back" IUI's, just to cover the ovulation window. I guess the thought is you're getting a better chance of introducing more sperm to the egg during the time you're "supposed" to ovulate.

Thank you,

If this cycle is not successful, I think I will mention that to my dr.

Thank you again!

Best wishes.

kremd75,

I had my 3rd IUI this AM. Each time I've only done 1 IUI that was well timed for ovulation based on follie size. My RE typically does the insemination 36 hours after the trigger. He always does the u/s before the procedure to see if the follies are ready to pop. Today my largest one was at 23mm and I have 3 others he thinks will be released soon. Best wishes and to you!

Don't think that double IUI's are necessary if the procedure is timed correctly.
