Hey dylansmommy and all!

I have gotten 2 days of and even though I'm only 13dpiui, I am pretty sure that's accurate. So I am joining you here and praying that my 3rd IUI is the charm!! Baby would be due on my 3rd wedding anniversary if all of the numbers and dates work out the way I'm planning for them to right now.

So . . . HERE WE GO!!! for a JUNE 2010 baby!!!

Hi all! May I join you?

Dylansmoomy - I feel like I have known you forever. I see you on the threads that I follow.

I just made the decision to do my first IUI with injectibles, instead of doing my third IVF. I feel like this can work! I kept meditating and trying to listen to my inner knowing. My RE says I have better chances with IUI #3 (duh!), without doing the PGD testing which may have compromised my 2 healthy embryos last time. But I just feel that IUI with injectibles is the way for me to go, even not considering the financial cost. I know I am "old." If this cycle doesn't work I guess it will be IVF next cycle. For now I choose to be positive about this IUI.

I have been on bcp for a week, got a bloodtest this morning and am waiting to start stimulating. My RE thinks IUI in the middle of Sept.

Let's do it this time! here we come!!!! It's our turn!

Aphrodite - I for you and your bab(ies).

mom43 you are so very welcome to join in here...i was afraid for a short while it would just be me and while that would be awesome cuz it would mean everyother woman on the posts was preggo..lol might get a little lonely..maybe i should know this lol but what was pgd..i'm sorry it may have had a negative effect for you whatever it is..i hope you get some good quality eggies for this cycle and that iui will do the trick as it is a leeetle lol cheaper than ivf...if it doesn't work we may see even more of each other ..i think i may give ivf a shot if this iui does not work...gotta make it happen somehow..it is so strange how you feel like you know someone you never met..i guess since we share these intimate stories and details with strangers that are going thru the same struggle it just makes you feel like long lost friends..so good luck buddy can't wait to hear some good news for anybody!
naomi
btw mom43 what stims will you be doing this cycle? and at how many follicles would they want to cancel you..i would think they would allow you more?good luck

Hi Dylansmommy! PGD is Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis, where they genetically test the embryos to make sure they are healthy (the best they can tell at this point). My understanding is for younger people (35 and under), 50% of embryos have genetic issues, for everyone older, 70 or 80% of embryos have genetic issues). That's why they test. In most cases, the genetically-flawed embryos just don't make it to day 3 or 5 or fail to implant properly. In retospect, I wish I had not done the testing (my RE suggested it). But at least we know we can make healthy embryos. I just wish all the other women knew the risk.

I got the OK to start stims tomorrow (I had a bloodtest today and all is a go), only I missed the nurse's call today and don't know what I'll be taking. I'll let you know when I know. My RE says I can have more than 3 eggs, so I'm hoping for 5 or 6. I think worrying about high-order multiples is not realistic for me.

I'm so ready to go!

Hi Dylansmommy - You're starting! Yay! Maybe the nausea is foreshadowing of what's to come for you! . No more BCPs for me. I start 150 of Gonal-F tonight, for three days, and then an ultrasound on Thursday to see how the follicles are doing. 5 to 6 mature eggs with a 20-30% healthy rate sounds perfect to me. It helps me to know what image to create in my mind.

Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping to jump on the bandwagon here, too! I go in for my first US/bw on Wednesday and hopefully will start up injections again that night. came SIX DAYS EARLY this month, so I'm going to push for progesterone or SOMETHING to keep my lining together for a full two weeks. I didn't even get to have the fun of POAS.

I'd love to hear more about the pgds. I'm seeing a geneticist next week to talk about some chromosomal abnormalities that showed up on my initial bw. Apparently, it's a very low level of cells BUT I'm still nervous about miscarriage or passing it on to my child. I've heard that pgds can eliminate this risk BUT it sounds like it is dangerous for the egg?

Hoping this is the month for ALL of us! I, for one, am NOT looking forward to doctor visits every other morning while going back to work!!

Hi Francesca - I don't mean to scare you about the pgd testing. I think it is needed in certain cases where there are concerns about chromosomal abnormalities, so I'm glad it exists for people who need it. And frankly, I am happy to know I can make healthy embryos. I never would have known that. On the other hand, when they do the testing they take one cell out of a 4 or so cell embryo to test it. I can't help but believe that has the chance of compromising the integrity of that embryo. And I think it did in my case. If I needed it, though, I would certainly do it again. Hope that helps.

Hi Ladies!

dylansmommy - you are not alone! I am still here, just did not post for a while. Sorry you are feeling cranky - me too!

mom43 - !! I hope this new approach works for you!

Francesca - I'm sorry you got so early, but at least you get to start the next round nice and early now. Good to see you on this string with me again!

slyfoxy - if things work as I think they will, we will have our IUIs on the same days!! for !

I'm still technically waiting for AF and really praying for a miracle, but I'm 98% sure I will be going for IUI #3 in September with you all.If IUI #3 does not work, I have decided I need to ask for a lap. I was just posting about this on another string, but I read an article about endo that was very informative and have been wondering ever since. I have a few possible symptoms (spotting, pain during intercourse, very painful ovulation - even before meds, fatigue, and migraines), but since my periods were never heavy or painful I never gave it much thought. Well, aparently some people have NO SYMPTOMS and between 40-70% of women diagnosed go onto conceive! With these stats, I do not know why the lap is not part of regular testing or why it is not suggested more often. The two women who responded to my post had practically no symptoms and got the lap then went onto conceive. I know it is an expensive and invasive test, but it pisses me off that the answer might be staring me in the face and no one would have said anything to me! If I did not read this article, I would not have thought of advocating for myself!!!

Enough rambling!!! LET'S GET LOTS OF !!!
