Hello All,

I thought that joining this sight would help answer a lot of my questions and offer support.

1 dog Birdie the Beagle

Me:29 years old
2002 diaginosed with hypothyroid

DH:28 years old
TC 200 million
76% motilty
1% morphology

April 2008-December 2008- not oing

December 2008-clomid 50mg 5 days, overstimulation 35 eggs, hormones off the chart

January 2009 visit to RE, recommends IUI
January 2009-clomid 25mg 5 days, overstimulation
HSG-Normal
Hormone Tests-Normal
February 2009-ovaries needed a month off TTC

DH and I decide to wait 6 months TTC

Since my RE suggested doing an IUI and I have had probelms with overstimulation is it worth a shot to try with out fertility meds? My DH's morphology is low (1%) but everything else good. Is an IUI the best route??? Do people get pregnant doing an IUI with low morph?

First IUI should be 9/14!

Hey there

Hey everyone! Looks like I'll be joining you next week for our IUI's! This will be my 2nd try at it. I had my 1st IUI on July 13 with a neg. result. We took August off so that I could order more meds, and build up my spirits and - SHOCK - I got pregnant naturally! Unfortunately, my ovaries just don't do what they're supposed to, and my progesterone level was so low, that it ended up being a chemical pregnancy. I'm still thrilled at the miracle that happened, and excited to keep on working at it!

So...here I am - trying again! Started my injections today - Repronex 225mL. Not sure of exact IUI date yet, but should be next week.

Good luck to us all this month!!! Hope this is the one!

Itemplin and BabyShim

Francesca13- Nice to have someone else in MI to go through this with! As if our area is depressing enough! I am actually super excited this cycle where I haven't allowed myself to get my hopes up in the past (just so I wouldn't be so disappointed). Good luck to you!

Hockeygrl- Thanks for the well wishes and baby dust back to you!

Allij- Hopefully they'll get your medication dosage correct. I was so disappointed with last month (my 1st injectible cycle) but this month is turning out great. Don't give up hope.

Let's all get a this month!

As for my appt this morning (3rd day in a row that I've been at the doc before work), things are progressing nicely. I have 4 follies still developing and they are 14, 15, 16, and 17. Almost there! They want me to do one more night of 75 units (they decreased from 112.5) to catch up the smaller ones. Looks like I'll trigger tomorrow (CD10) for B2B IUIs on Sat/Sun.

I'm slightly freaked out that I'm triggering on CD10, but I guess I won't technically ovulate until CD12.

put me on the list for around the 10-13th for our 2nd IUI. Our first IUI was in June and we took July & August off from the meds, etc but didn't stop "trying".
On Cd 7 today & ultra crabby on 50mg Clomid today. Poor DH for putting up with me!

Thank you for the warm welcome! Just wondering if anyone has taken Prometrium post ovulation? I did with my last IUI and the side effects were horrible. Depression and severe irritability. Anyone else have similar experiences?

Thanks,

Linda

Hey ladies! How's it going? Today is CD11 for me and I go in tommorow for bw & us to finally see how my follies have grown. I'll probably trigger tommorow night I think. I am so anxious. I have already planned how I would decorate a nursery!

Allij--This is my first IUI too and I really hope it works for us both. I plan to go straight to IVF if it doesn't. I did two IVFs (not fun and very $$$) before we decided to move on to donor sperm. So, we plan to try one IUI and one IVF before considering adoption. But we just won't have the money for adoption after all of this so .

BabyShim-- Hopefully, the meds will be the key to success for you!

Lindy--You are right on track. I hope my numbers are as good as yours.

skyhope--I had the hot flashes on my last day of Clomid. I am usually always cold and was like, dang, is the AC not working? DH said its not hot in here and then I remembered it being a side effect. Menopause will be fun:-)

Francesca-- and good luck with the TI. I remember the Menopur. Ick. It left welts. No, wait, that was the Repronex. Be glad you're not taking that.

Hockeygirl--I am ready to be rid of the side effects too. I think its making me irritable but its kind of hard to isolate that variable. I know its made me bloated.

AmyLou--I have just been researching this and I think count and motility are much more important. Maybe you could try clomid which is much cheaper and easier than injectibles. I overstimmed in the past which is probably why they have me on clomid rather than injectibles.

meredmo-- and good luck! I think you have a good chance of this working.

Scotian-- OK, so the clomid irritability wasn't just in my head. There are so many things going on that I didn't know why I have been so snappy. Our poor DHs.

Itemplin--I have not taken Prometrium but I am supposed to after this IUI so, next week. I am very disheartened to learn of those side effects. This is so hard.

My cycle was cancelled. I have like 7 follies so they won't do it. I am livid. I have overstimmed in the past so they should have put me on a lower dosage than what is normal. They had me on 100 of clomid which I think is normal. I am so upset. I'm going to try on my own regardless of what they say. Good luck to the rest of you.

Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for the warm welcome.

My US went very well yesterday. I have 5 good looking follies and my RE was surprised at how thick my lining was. I became very nervous after the "multiples talk". Yikes!!!

I took my last bravelle injection this morning and will trigger tonight @ 9:30p. My IUI is on 9/7 at 10a. I'm super excited and really feel like this time is going to work.

Shannon – I am so sorry to hear about your cycle. I’m surprised that your doctor didn’t reduce your dosage. Good luck going natural this cycle. You never know!!!

Cheers to all.

Itemplin - I've never taken Prometrium after ovulation, but do have to take Progesterone suppositories - yucky - up until the beta.

Thanks everyone else for the welcome.

AFM - had bloodwork this morning - estrogen only at 90 so far. Draw again on Tuesday. Grow follies grow!!

Good luck to us all!

Shannobanno: Please excuse my ignorance. Why are they canceling on you? Is it because you risk having multiples with having so many follicles?

This whole process is full of heartache. I wish ALL of us will conceive!

Yes, that is the concern. She said I have 6, maybe even 7, follies--only 3 of which are mature. I think its BS. However, I'm taking the trigger shot and having the donor sperm delivered to my house. I'm doing it anyway! Over the course of 2 IVFs, I've had over 40 embryos and not one pregnancy. They are overly concerned about their reputation and not enough about my success. Oh well, hopefully the at-home insemination (ICI) works for me! I am not against the selective reduction option if I were to become preggers with triplets or more. I told the doctor that but she said no way. We'll see about that;-)

Hey everybody! to all of the ladies that are just now joining the fun!

Shannobananno ~ I totally feel your frustration! As hard of a decision that is to make, I think I would feel the same way. It is very difficult when you are so close and yet so far away. It just seems like you have gone this far and you are on the homestretch and that one last lap is all you need and instead you are getting tripped up AND kicked in the butt. Keep us posted on the updates since you are taking the bull by the horns so to speak! Hopefully the ends will justify the means.

Lindy123 - How were you B2B IUI's? Any cramping? Did you do an ultrasound beforehand to get the sizes and # of follies?

As for me... I went for b/w and u/s at cd 11 (Sunday). I found out that I am a very slow responder... I have 3 on the left measuring 10, .9, and .9 as for the right 2 measuring .8 each. My lining is 6.2 and my E2 level is 250 and rising which is good. So I was advised to stay on the 225 of Gonal-F Sunday and Monday nights and I have an appointment bright and early in the am for more b/w and u/s. It wasn't til Friday that I could feel something happening in my ovaries though. So maybe, just maybe this could still be my cycle. I have not abandoned hope yet. I am encouraging everyone and myself to hang on in there. As my father always says...The proof of our desire is in our pursuit!!

Hi All, I have been posting on the clomid thread but thought I would post here too. We tried IUI last month but, no go as we did no realize that I needed to call the office prior to a certain time...missed it by an hour. oops. So here we are this month.
Saw the Dr. yesterday. I have 1 good sized folli and one that is almost there. I did my trigger shot this AM and go in on tomorrow for IUI. I am excited, however he said that if I don't get my this month I need more surgery to remove a polyp in my uterus. So I feel stressed cuz I don't want surgery. I have been crampy th last few days, I get like this when I am close to ovulating. Please think positive thoughts for me! I really want this to work. Any advice for my first round? Any little tips to help tomorrow and over the next two weeks?
Take care everyone and to all!

Insem Complete

Ok, I went in for my insem today. Yay! Not happy that I had to pay an additional $70 because today is a holiday, but I am thankful that I had that option and was still able to get it done. I am more crampy than any of my previous 4 insems. I hope this is a good sign.

Now, the agonizing 2WW begins!! Let's hope that I can keep my early PG sign obession until control this time.

If you don't mind, please post your insem date(s) and anticipated PG test date and I'll create a list. It's much easier to keep up with everyone.

Shannobanono - Good for you for just doing it on your own. I would do the very same thing if I was in your shoes. When will the sperm be delivered? Do you just insert it yourself?

I had my IUI this morning. I think we will try one more IUI after this cycle if we don't conceive. My DH may not be happy, but I need some closure to this.

I love this site. It's really comforting to be able to read everyones posts and share what is going on with me.
