Bistro - I'm so sorry you have been feeling down. I have read about people getting a BFP with far fewer counts than 10 million and you even had b2b IUIs so hopefully one of those guys will do his job! I can relate to your feelings though, I keep wondering if this IUI will work since I have gone through 3 already but I just keep hoping that it will. I know in my heart that we are all meant to be mommies so we will get our BFP at some point.
Hi Wanessa! Wishing you tons of luck with this IUI ![]()

Let's bring this thread back, ladies!!!
I am back from a 3 month break and starting up new treatments. Today I begin my follistim injections (in about a 1/2 hour in fact!).... Very happy to start up again... lots of mixed emotions, but excitement is right up at the top of the list! started yesterday so I'm assuming I should be having my IUI between Oct 10-12th. But then again, I don't know how I will respond to the new meds.... time will tell! All the best to everyone.... ![]() ![]()

Hi Kara! Hope you injection went well tonight. Hope this cycle goes very well for you and you get a BFP!! If you don't mind me asking, how much did your follistim cost and what dose are you taking? Just researching since I might move onto injections if this IUI doesn't work (but it worked, right???)

Hi Ladies,
After a for IUI cycle #3, DH and I made a difficult decision tonight to try for IUI #4 before moving onto IVF. Not only will an IVF cycle take at least 6 weeks to start anyway, but after looking at the stats, we feel that we do not want to waste this try. Apparently, 94% of women who are going to get pregnant with IUI do so after 4 tries, while only 87% get pregnant after 3 tries. So we figure there is still some hope. We will not be doing injectables. My insurance only covers up to $5K lifetime for fertility meds, so we want to save the money for IVF if it is needed. My RE will cancel if there are more than 5 follies anyway. I have been producing 3 with femara. We are going to ask him if I can up the dosage to shoot for 4-5 follies. I have been crying much of the day since our consult with the RE. Even though I knew a lot, it was still a shock to hear about the IVF process. Insurance is OUT - and it is soooo expensive!!! I guess we kind of feel like we might as well try it with that last IUI before dropping close to ten grand. The IUI will only cost about $1K . . . if it doesn't work, it is a waste, but not a huge one and it will save a lot, so . . . . I know that once I am done wallowing, I HAVE TO PICK MYSELF UP AND DUST MYSELF OFF ONCE AGAIN. This time though . . . I am having a little more trouble finding the dust cloth. I have to have faith that it will turn up somewhere . . . maybe somewhere unexpected this time. ladies!

Hey Alison - the injections were a piece of cake!! I actually did it myself and the needle is SO small, I didn't feel a thing. I am on 75 ui for the first 4 nights - I then go back to the dr. on Monday and they do some b/w and an u/s and we go from there. I might stay on that dosage or they might increase it. We'll see! I noticed some pressure on my ovaries last night when I went to bed but nothing major. They were just working their magic! It's funny you ask about the cost.... When I stopped for my break 3 months ago, I knew I was going to be on injections when I started up again and they were going to put me on Gonal F. My insurance said I was going to have to pay...... you may want to sit down for this.... $1300 for 1, yes 1 month's worth of medication.... that is not including the b/w & u/s costs I have too..... Needless to say, I was beside myself. About a month ago, my insurance called me and said that if I switched over to Follistem, it would only be $85 for 2 months worth of medication. If I could have found that man, I would have given him the biggest kiss of his life! haha The financial pressure is gone, as well as the feeling of, "We only have 2 times for this to work." I will say every insurance is different so you just need to make sure you ask a lot of questions. I hope everything goes well for you!! Bistro - Hang in there, girl. I know how hard it gets.... that is why I had to take my break. I had such an overwelming sence of hopelessness...... it was hard to get up every day, see people.... and that is just not me. I need to find myself again and gear up for this next round. I went back to the gym, I had lots of date nights with my dh.... just really had some fun "us" and "me" time that was very much needed. Everyone is different, but that was exactly what helped me turn it around. I have new found hope, excitment and I KNOW I will be . It may be this month, it may be in a couple of months, but it will happen. Big to you....

Good Morning Ladies!!! I have a question for you all.
I had my u/s appt last tuesday and they added 3 more days of meds since my follies were not ready. Anyway, today is CD 13 and I'm going in for another u/s. Have you ladies had any of your IUIs done after CD 14? I'm pretty sure that this is going to happen to me and it's freaking me out. Could I ovulate on my own? I really hope that they didn't screw this up, otherwise I'll be REALLY pissed off. AHHH i have not knowing what's going on and it's driving me insane. Help me out here ladies.

Hey ladies!! I would like join you if that is alright. Just had a D&C 3 weeks ago. I will be starting my 3rd cycle of injection treatment in a few weeks. First cycle cancelled due to too many follies ready for release. Second Cycle I finally was able to get my first IUI and got a BFP but loss the preg. due to to no heartbeat at 8wks 5 days.. So I am back on the journey again. I have issues with producing too many follies but since we have already gone thru the guessing game of how my body reacts to the injections the process should be better this go around. I am staying hopeful and prayerful.. I wish each of you get BFP. I will have my fist restart consultation onthe 16th. so I probably wont be ready for an IUI till November..

Thanks for the info Kara. Wow, I can't believe the price difference between follistim and gonal f!!! I also thinks it's amazing that your insurance company called you! I have such a hard time whenever I call my insurance company. When I called a few weeks ago I had to literally spell out the name of each medication and they put me on hold forever as if they had no idea they were looking for. I didn't know insurance companies would actually be able to tell you the specific price you would have to pay. I guess I'm going to have to put my inspector hat on and do a little research!! I am so incredibly happy for you that all that worry has gone away and you can just focus on getting your
and not have to stress so much about finances.Hi aja24 and to the group. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. You are right though, now that you and the doctors know how you react to the meds it should go easier this time around. Wishing you the very best of luck for your next cycle!I am 6dpiui today and I feel like I've done pretty well during the 2ww. I have convinced myself I'm not going to POAS until 14dpiui. Wish me luck!!

Hi ladies! I know I'm not part of your group, but I would love your imput! I'm on IUI/follistim #2, never did clomid. And my RE swore I would be PG this month, and if not he wanted to reevaluate treatment (I'm guessing IVF). DH and I are not going to do that. So, my question is, why do you think my RE would already want to give up? Has any of your RE's made comments like that? How many will they do for you, whats the max #?
Thanks so much!!
