Had an u/s today to check for follie growth since Friday and the tech said there were a lot of little ones, my lining is pretty thin but since we are only on CD6 then its nothing to worry too much about...I am not sure if I am liking this u/s tech, she didnt tell me the size of the follies or anything, my old tech (she quit because my doc is pretty hard to work for) was awesome about this kind of thing, oh well as long as she can find the follies I guess that's all i need! I go in for another u/s thursday, so crossing my fingers we see lots of growth!

Jaida~ Which part of the procedure is painful for you? I'm afraid it will be painful for me because the endo biopsy I had was horrific! I guess my cervix is narrow so the catheter was awful! Im sorry to hear that you DH wont be there...I know that must be hard. Hope this is your month though!

Jelly- I had the endo biopsy too, that was quite painful for me as well, this is nothing like that. At least I didn't think so. You'll be ok! No pain no gain, right?

Inspireby~ the first IUI i had it took the nurse 6 tries before she actually thead the catheter thru my cervix. That was uncomfortable and crampy with each attempt. When she finally got it, it felt that she perforated my uterus. Extreme pain that turned into cramping for the next day and a half. This last time I had it it was a much better experience. The nurse got it on the second try (I guess I need a big "curve" in the catheter in order to pass it thru). I still had severe cramping, like the worse menstrul cramps ever, for the rest of the day, even on 2 ES Tylenol. I think this time I'm going to take the Tylenol before going. I think it will help prevent the pain.

Did you all think the HSG was painful? My was uncomfortable until they injected some medical grade "oil" which made me fly off the table in pain. I'm probably just a big wimp. In either case, you will be fine and it will all be worth it one of these days.

LUCY- email me at work. I don't have time to respond getting ready to walk out the door, but I'd be glad to fill you in. I can email all day at work, no problem! I'm sending you a PM with my email. Anybody else that wants it, just ask.

Jaida~ The HSG wasn't bad for me at all. Thats why I was shocked that the endo biopsy was so bad! And it was all catheter pain. My RE said my cervix took a "hair pin turn" at one point and that was why it was so bad. The worst pain I've ever felt. I could hardly stand when they we done. I just looked at my DH and started crying. I hope the IUI isnt as bad for me because on top of the pain I couldn't relax at all. I was so tense...I'm afraid everything will come flying back out!! Lol..sorry...bad visual I'm sure! Well I'll ask at my us appointment if I can take anthing and hopefully that helps!

Hmmm….these procedures must be different (pain wise,) for everyone. I had an HSG and did not have any pain, just a little discomfort. My first IUI was slightly painful, but nothing I couldn't handle. The second IUI was very easy. On all three procedures, the worst part for me was the speculum. I hate it when they first put that thing in…..eeek!!
It's actually worse for me to get the ultrasound, because my ED presses the wand against my ovaries to check their size. That is the most uncomfortable thing for me.

Sarah- You should ask the tech....maybe she doesn't think you would even know what she was talking about if she told you the size. I'd definitely ask....I'm always very curious to know how many follies and what the size is. Good luck with your next U/S.

Jaida-I'm SO glad to hear your first injection went well. Woo Hoo! Wish I was doing it with you this month. You are a strong girl for going through the cycle this month without your husband. You give me hope that I'll be okay with the injectables when I start them next cycle. Keep me updated!

Hannah- I was worried about leakage too, my first IUI. But, I read that they put the little guys so far inside your uterus, that there is no way for them to fall out. So, don't worry about that! The best thing you can do during your IUI is try to relax. They will have a more difficult time feeding the catheter into your uterus if you are tensed up. I know it is easier said then done, but just lay back and breathe….that seems to help the most.

Lucy- I'm sure Flashgal has already answered you. But, I wanted to give you a website that I found, that has been extremely helpful:

http://www.advancedfertility.com/index.html

http://www.advancedfertility.com/clomid-treatment.htm there is info on the follicle size in this paragraph:
Monitored Clomid cycles using follicle ultrasound scans and blood hormone levels

This if my favorite page, I like to see statistics! (go to bottom)
http://www.advancedfertility.com/insem.htm

Hope that helps!

so i have good news and not so good news lol(isn't it always) my baseline this morning went well no cysts, the nurse practicioner did this one she is quick but she answers my questions if i catch her lol...unfortunately my lining is still to thick little over 9 and she told me they like to see it below 7 to start...so i have to go back thurs for another u/s and IF(oh please)my lining is below 7 i get to start my injectibles friday night lol...she says that way friday sat and sun i will take the 75iu of follistim and hopefully not be outta control by monday morning...oh yay and i got to pay my 500$ plus bill for my last attempt at this type of cycle
i didn't think it too fair lol since they started me my first time on a higher dosage then recomended but i'm not the dr...jeez...so i am over 3000 outta pocket and i havent even had the chance to try and see if this will work lol...hopin it does this time
oh and i asked if i decide on ivf if this doesn't work if they want to remove the tube or just occlude it...she said they would rather remove it but would occlude it if it were attatched to my bowel or (whatever it can become attatched too)or if i absolutely did not want it removed...
sorry so long will update tonight when i get back from the ivf consult....cross your fingers for me ladies i might get to win free stimming meds tonight...woohoo!
hugs to all and lots of good luck(all bad luck go jump off a bridge would ya)
