Progesterone HATER!
These stupid suppositories SUCK!
 Who's with me in feeling this way? They're messy, make you you feel "yucky" down there all the time and even make me itchy a bit. I know that's TMI, but I get bladder infections really easy so I feel that despite being extremely careful, the progesterone is still irritating my urinary tract.I don't even feel like I need them. On an unmedicated cycle my levels 7dpo were only 9, but with Femara my levels went up to 14 and the doc said for me to take them if less than 15. If I'm pregnant I will be begging to at least cut back to once/day instead of twice/day. So please post your complaints here and tell me what your levels were before you started progesterone.

I did IVF, but I just wanted to say: AMEN!!! They totally sucked. As they melted I was constantly running to the bathroom thinking I was bleeding. Blech.

We hate progesterone
I hear what you are saying about those darn progesterone suppositories. I actually had to take them on my 4th IUI cycle since I did a complete injectible cycle. 6DPIUI, my progesterone levels were only 13, so I had to increase the dosage from 100mg to 200mg daily...OH JOY !!! My RE's office makes you take them if your progesterone levels on 6DPIUI or 7DPIUI is under 20.
The progesterone supp's increase pregnancy symptoms and do make you feel a little itchy..plus they are gross.....talk about having a "not so fresh feeling" I feel like I need to be in a feminine hygeine commercial.

Im right there with you guys..HATE THEM! Im using them with my IVF 3x a day.And on 5dp3dt I thought I was getting a urinary tract infection from them. Went to my OBGYN and no there was no infection but I had blood in my urine. YIKES! Not good. OBGYN said it was most likely from the inserts! Since they are so messy!!! Today im 11d93dt and it still hurts to pee. I go tomorrow for my Prego test so hopefully soon I can stop taking them!

I am so there with you Ladys these things SUCK. I started them last monday two x's daily. I had a little spotting last week not sure if from them or impantation. Can't wait tell next Monday to get BETA and hopefull stop this.

Another weird thing for me is that on my regular un-medicated cycles I had low progesterone but yet my boobs always hurt really bad from ovulation until AF. I thought the suppositories were supposed to make your boobs hurt but I don't have any of that for the 2 cycles that I've taken them.
Thanks for your support! I know I'm not alone on hating the suppositories. I hope we all get our and then have a definite date of when we can stop using the suppositories!

I agree, those suppositories are the worst!! When I was pregnant with my twins I was doing PIO injections once a day, but with my DD I used the suppositories 3 times a day for the first trimester. It really is a toss up on which is worse. The shots are painful, but its over and done with pretty fast. The suppositories are a continual icky gooey mess! This time around I was prescribed the suppositories 3x a day which I start today. I guess I'll be breaking out the razor tonight to lessen the mess!

I hate them, I hate they way they make me feel, and the irritation all day. I am suppose to take them 2x day but I have been avoiding them morning one. I feel miserable on 100mg, I can't imagine taking 200. If I am prego then I have to stay on them for the first 3mos. I am sure in the end it is all worth it.

You're right, they absolutely suck! Not only are they gross but they are ruining my nice underwear! That greasy stuff just doesn't come out in the wash. I have resorted to wearing a liner every day.
I have been taking that AZO Yeast while on the progesterone suppositories and that seems to help with the itchiness.

PIO shots are EVIL
PIO shots are EVIL. They are a pain in the a**. You have to be a yoga master to self-administer it. (of course, you can pay my clinic $15 to do it for you - urgh!).
I did a bit of research, found this site that explained the various options Progesterone Supplements (Oral and Vaginal) Stirrup Queens, asked my RE, and he switched to Prometrium (200 twice a day). This pill can be taken orally, but less side effects if you go vaginallly. If you have a infection, the directions i receive is to stick it up the other opening. Less mess in the other opening too. I haven't tried. Prometrium isn't as messy as the pharmacy compounded stuff. I didn't find it messy or oozy at all! Also, another advice I read is to not stick it way up. Once it's inside, it will stay inside. If you try to stick it way up, you may cause irration to your urinary tract. Hope that helps. You can always ask your RE to switch you to the form that you prefer. In the end, they all SUCK! but some are less evil. Progesterone HATER turned LOVER!!!
