About to have a polyp removed

Hello,
We have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years and 3 months. It's been extremely difficult. I had a miscarriage in Feb 08. Tried IUI 3 times with Clomid and Ovidrel, and Premetrium during last try all unsuccessful. During last ultrasound Dr found a polyp on my uterus. I am going to have it removed in Oct. Can anyone give me an idea about this minor surgery? I am very scared. I also might have luteal phase defect that's why I was taking prometrium. Do any of you have experience with this defect? After that we will be doing another IUI with Letrizole and Premetrium again. Has anyone done that? Have any of you been successful with this drug? All my friends are pregnant or had their babies. I am so incredibly frustrated and depressed. Thank you for any help.

Marzena~ I had Hist/Lap sx last october where 2 polyps we removed from my tubes(1 at opening of each tube). It really wasn't bad at all. I took a week off of work after just to take it easy and rest. I have a slight luteal phase defect too. This is our first IUI and I took Letrozole cd3-7. I didn't have any side effects and I go tomorrow am to check follie size. I've seen a lot of success stories from women on Letrozole. I feel very hopeful! Good luck with your sx and don't worry...you'll be fine and happy to have one more step behind you!

Hello InspiredbyHannah, Thank you so much for responding. I am so glad you mentioned having lap along with polyp removal. We saw dr yesterday and he suggested I have lap done too just because I will be there already for the polyp and this way we will be able to rule out endo as a possible cause of our problems. I have never met anyone who had both of those procedures and I am glad to know that yours went well and yes it would be great to have that over with. I am upset I have to lose a cycle because of these procedures and the next IUI won't be until Nov. It's so great to hear that there are success stories from women on Letrozole. That gives me hope!
I hope your dr visit went well. All the best of luck.
