I am jumping in here!

I am another 'old' timer like Wanessa. Had my IUI yesterday and am WAITING, ICK.

Laura- the whole pineapple has the enzyme, it is why you can't make jello with fresh pineapple (it is cooked out of canned).

Sarah- it is good to have the BDing as a backup, I am in the same boat as Wanessa.

Lucy- no need to worry about the 'slow' ones that is the beauty of an IUI!! Sorry about your reaction to the IUI, but here is hoping there is no 'next time'!!

The RE and I were talking at the IUI this am, DH and I have been at this for a full year. We had our "let's try again" meeting last Columbus Day... The doc and I are like old friends, I know all about his kids and we see each other around town... I don't want to be this familiar with an RE don't get me wrong I love him but...

lucy ny i had a lot of cramping with my only iui...i felt miserable...i have read they have a few ways to wash the sperm but that some clinics use i guess they call it a simple wash where they spin it and it helps get the protaglandins out which are what causes the cramps (but they suck them off the top maybe and might not get it all?) so maybe if they spin it again that helps seperate it more...some days i have a love/hate relationship with mr google...lol...i'm trying to figure out if there is any benefit to what time i give my trigger shot tonight they office only said between 7-9pm but my iui's are scheduled oddly at 36hr post trigger and 60hrs post trigger so the second one seems wasteful...we shall see...lots of luck you ladies in your 2ww...hope i see lots of bfp down the road

Hi Kellie to our little group. We're not old timers, we're just experienced. Hahahaha
How r u doing girl? I hope everything is going ok.
I can't wait for us to start getting our BFPs
I'm not sure if you saw my old posts, but I ended up with 3 follies. I'm super excited. I can't wait to find out. PUPO!!!! POAS Pusher!!

Deanie - Thank you for cheering us on. You're so sweet. How r u feeling? When r u POAS?

AFM- I'm feeling pretty bloated. It's very strange feeling this way, I can't help but remember how I felt like when I was pregnant. Today I noticed something rather "interesting". Before I tell u this I have to explain that I'm originally from Brasil and they're all VERY superstitious and stuff there so bare with me.
There's a saying that if u want to know if you'll have a boy or a girl that you should gently pinch your chin and if there's a little circle then it's a boy and if it's a line then it's a girl.
I've heard this since I was a child and everything I tried a little circle would show. Well, today I notice something "strange" and when I looked there was a line on my chin. I started laughing and told DH.
He just looked at me and started to shake his head because he already knows about this and he's always been rooting for the blue team.
I know this is WAY WAY WAY early and we don't even know if we're pregnant yet, but that made me chuckle today, I thought I would share. (sorry if it sounds too crazy). I better go, I'm exhausted!
have a great day ladies!!

quick question...

I know there is room here for me to ask a silly question, and noone will laugh, I hope!
I triggered at 10.45pm, had my iui exactely at 12.44pm, 38 hours later. I felt like I was ovulating literally 10 hours after the trigger, I took the LH strip test, it showed a light line. The morning of my iui, I took it again, & it showed nothing. Question is, would it still be possible to have a BFP even though I wasnt showing a LH surge that morning? I am confused...
Dont laugh!

Lucy there's no such thing as a silly question here. There's no need to worry, no one will ever laugh at you.
From what I understand the trigger shot makes your HPT show a BFP for a while. For my first IUI I bought a bunch of the cheap tests from the dollar store and tested everyday to see when the trigger was out of my system and it took almost 10 days. The second IUI took 7 days and I was able to hold off testing for the third until day 10 and it was negative too.
I've heard of people using their OPK to test and see if they're pregnant or not, I'm not sure how that works.
From what I understand the surge is just a warning that you'll ovulate soon, it doesn't mean that you are ovulating. The idea of the IUI is to have the sperm there before the eggs are release. At least that's what I understood.
Take a deep breath and try to relax (I know easier said than done) everything is going to be ok, you'll get your BFP soon!!!

Thanks Tomeka & DylansM,
Good to know DylansM!

So does the trigger interfere with the ovulation test result? I have to say, the OPK I used is about 6 months or more old, it says to only use it the month you open the box. I just have a hunch the iui should have been a day earlier as I was having the ovulation pains that day, but it was less on the day of iui.

I do not think I will POAS at home, I am too superstitious! I will wait.
11 days! OMG!

Hey Wanessa! "experienced" ok I will go with that! 3 follies is great! I had one... but that is the plan!

I am a poas addict myself but I am trying to hold out til 10/24, DH and the kids will be out of town so if it is pos I will celebrate alone, negative I will be able to go out and get drunk

Lucy- the trigger does interfere with the OPK, and an LH surge happens BEFORE ovulation so it sounds like the IUI was perfectly timed. eggs are good for about 24 hours so you are in good shape!!

I don't think the OPK tests are accurate if it says to use within a month and it is 6 months later. So I wouldn't worry You have 11 day to go and I have 10!!! Can we make it??? Can't wait for our s!!

rmc! We will be getting our results the same day, 10/23. I am going to resist poas, and wait for the blood test at the Docs office. I dont think I could handle a 'maybe' result at home... and want to be told a firm yes from the doctor.

kma & kellie, So, after the ovulation LH surge, the eggs live for another 24 hours?? Is it possible that you can ovulate before the trigger? I am slightly paranoid that maybe my iui timing is off. this is unbearable not knowing the results...

Ok can I POAS yet? LOL! I am having some odd side effects and lack of others so I am totally confused. With my trigger in previous cycles I have always had super sore bbs, and yet nothing so far! I think I can hold out another 9...well actually 8 days until I POAS...

Lucy-I have read that the egg can actually live up to 48 hours, so your IUI timing sounds good to me, I had my IUI with my DS 24 and 40 hours post trigger and I worried like crazy that the second one was a waste of time, but lo and behold I got my bfp! It is possible to ovulate before the trigger, but due to the meds I don't think that is likely to happen.
