Unhappy Devastated!! IUI #1 unsuccessful

I am new to the site. I have been TTC for 5 years. In 2008 I had HSG, laproscopic and my tubes flushed. Also, had a ployp removed.

I skipped two months of AF. Well, how disappointed that was.

My ob/gyn sent me to a infertility specialist where I was a bit skeptical knowing my insurance does not cover this stuff!!

Anyway, he said I was fine and I will get pregnant! My hormone levels were perfect. Hubby's sperm analaysis came back great (280 million). So here's my thing, whats the problem?!?!?!

I had my first IUI on September 17th, with Clomid, HCG shot, and Prometrium.

Testing was today, and it was . Went ahead and agreed to do round 2 of an IUI.

Does it usually take more than once??? This is so hard. I feel useless!!

while it is possible to get a positive with your first iui it is more likely to have to try 2-3 before you get a positive...don't lose hope ...i know how hard this is and expensive...(jeez)...i got a bfp on my first iui which wound up in early m/c...that was in june and we had been trying just to ovulate since jan...we have tried unsuccessfully to get to the iui part of the cycle...so you are doing good that you ovulate...it is still hard and upsetting no doubting that...good luck and may your second time be your charm...i am hoping that as well as it looks like we may get to try a 2nd time as well...hugs go out to you

Nmullins~ Don't lose hope! My DH and I were told by our RE that general rule of thumb for any IF treatment was to give it at least 3 tries. I understand completely how your feeling though. Keep your head up!

nmullins5 just wanted to say don't give up it will happen for you. We've been ttc for over 8+yrs but we found out my DH has a sperm issue so we're now having to wait to go to a specialist to see what they say before our RE will move on.

We've done 3 IUI's an all failed but 2 IUI was from another RE that wasn't doing his job right so we switched an the New RE done the other IUI an then told us no more until DH goes to specialist to see what wrong then go from there.

Good Luck to you hun an hang in tight. I will say IF is a hell of a rough road to travel but you will get lots of support on here. I know all about this rough road an had tons of support from certain people on here. Now me an my DP is on the waiting game part.. BLAH!

for you hun..

I was devasted last month after our first IUI was unsuccessful. It's an awful feeling. Don't lose hope. IF is a terribly rough road but we are all here for you.

Red face Iui #2

Hi Ladies, I been reading the posts online for a while now and really wanted to join in. But wasn't sure if just could jump into the conversation or not. So here goes

I had my first IUI back in Aug and numbers came back after 2 weeks were ok. The doctor put me on pregesterone and numbers were good. Then I was told I was going to MC due to levels not rising as they should. Well it took me over 2 months of bleeding and finally I got fed up and had an injection to mc.

Now I finally am going to try IUI #2. I started Follistim 300 IU on Saturday. I am very scared and worried that I will go through the same issue.
Quick question for you ladies. My first IUI they started my follistim at 225 on my 4 day of period. This time around they started me on 300 on my 2nd day. Has anyone else started on different days.

Well I am praying that time time around all is successful. Its so frustrating that I have no one to talk to about this all my friends and family members all had babies with no problems, so no one knows what I am going through and cannot offer any real advice. So I am hoping to make some new friends online.
