Need advice

I had my last ultrasound on friday which showed 2 lead follicles about size 10 with 8 less than 10 on one ovary and 4 less than 10 on the other. I am so scared. I've overstimulated before and am scared all the little ones will grow at the same rate. I also feel lousy today. I have pains on both sides. I don't know if this is normal or not. My RE is hopeful that I will get 3-4 good follicles but I'm scared that it will be more. He said that there is a chance but people usually get a lot less than 10. I have my next ultrasound tom. morning and am terrified at what it will show. Please anyone who is out there if you could ease my mind or give me some info about this it would be so much appreciated. Thank you.

vanna i'm not sure of your history ...i have pcos like ovaries and so even one or two good follicles produce a lot of pain...right now on my second attempt with injectibles i am rather uncomfortable and two days ago had more than i can count # of follicles and one measuring 15 it would depend on your e2 level also what they think may be going on if it has shot up then you may well have too many developing but if it is going gradually you are probably all right...what stims are you on and have they had you increase or decrease...i wouldn't stress until you get a clearer picture as it could go either way...good luck to you tho...hope you only get a few super good ones so you can have your bfp and enjoy it!

Thank you for the feedback. My history has been a challenge to say the least. I tried injectables, follistim, with my former RE over a year ago. I overstimulated with 150u of follistim and the cycle was cancelled. I then only took 37.5 and produced one follicle. I did 2 cycles this way. The RE then convinced me I needed IVF which I didn't medically. It failed and I was devastated. My husband and I took a break and found another RE who we really like. I had a lap and had slight endo. The scar tissue was removed and I also had endometritis which is inflammation of the lining. That was treated and I started nonmedicated IUIs. I did get pregnant once but it was a chemical. I finally started with gonal injections but my first try was a bust because i stimmed too much and ended up with many little follicles. Last month I had 2 mature follicles. This cycle the RE wants me to have 3-4 mature follicles. I took 75u on CD2 and have been taking 37.5 ever since. Given my history, it is why I'm paranoid! I have my ultrasound and lab work tomorrow. I hope and pray it goes well. It's just hard for me to picture how if you have so many follicles less than 10, how only some mature. I am a nervous wreck. Thank you for giving me your feedback. Good luck to you!

i'm not sure how just a few follies pick up the signal to keep growing while others fall back...i do know they do lol...i too overstimmed on 150 follistim 2days then 100 for 3 days my e2 was over 2900 having gone off the stims and i was still climbing ...this time they started me on 75 and i think that is a good dose for 3 or 4 mature follies...in my case and possibly yours too...they lowered my dose to 50 however and that was a little too much so now here i am with only 1 follicle hopefully mature ...i am glad you like your re and hope you get your bfp with this cycle...if they are monitoring you closely and starting you off on a reasonable dose which it sounds like you should be good...they don't even count my follies there are so many until they make it over the 10 mark...it is typical for some people to have a high number of beginning follicles but for whatever reason only a few will take the lead under mild stim...again good luck

Thank you so much. I'm starting to feel better. It's sounds like you've had a similar experience with the stims. Keep me posted.
