New specialist yesterday, pregnant today!

Yesterday my husband and I met with a new fertility specialist and we decided that a Lap is the next step along with doing an diathermy procedure... I needed to start provera again since I was on day 46 of my cycle. Then we would be good to go for at least a couple rounds of IUI in the beginning of 2010. So, the Dr. told me to make sure I "pee on a stick" before I took the medication to start my period. I told him "I am NOT pregnant", which I was extremely confident that I wasn't. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. I got the this morning. We were totally shocked... we don't have a clue even how far along I am. I could be anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 weeks! I do not have regular periods at all... usually any where from 45 day cycle to 75 day cycle and whenever I have tested for ovulation it never happens!

We are cloud nine... already told my parents, my grandmother, and brother!!!

So, we wonder what did it for us now???... I lost weight, increased metiformin to 2000mg and started going to a chiropractor. Or maybe the combination of all of these?

Hope this helps others have hope it can happen in the most unlikely circumstances!

Honestly, I'm betting the weight loss contributed for your BFP. I never ovulated regularly and was told I probably would never get pregnant without medication after my PCOS diagnosis. After I lost a hundred pounds, my periods came back like clockwork and my current husband got me pregnant every four months for the first year. My doctor told me that even as little as a ten pound weight loss can kickstart ovulation so I'm betting that's what did it for you. Congratulations!!!

Thanks everyone for the congrats. Bunniswife... I think you are right the weight loss was the biggest factor.... even thou it didn't regulate my periods I think it jumped kicked my ovulation. Well, at least one time I ovulated and it was enough!

We also told my 4 year old daughter yesterday too. She kept asking me how the baby gets out of my tummy. Which I told her the doctors at the hospital help. But that didn't seem to answer her questions, so she asked again and again and again.... obviously I wasn't going to tell her the whole story and anything I can up with didn't work. Then she said "Can't I just be there to watch then!".... oh, how a 4 year old mind works.
