Jan. 22 I had my first IUI and then a week later I had to take a progesterone level check, I found out today that my level is 51.6, so I am curious as to what this is. I don't know if thats good or what. Could someone explain this to me? Thanks, Niki

I'm not sure what a "good" reading is for the progesterone test. I know that I had my IUI on the 29th and am having to use vaginal progesterone twice a day until I have my blood test done next Friday. Good luck to you!

I also had a question about progesterone levels. I had my first IUI on the 1st of Feb and have been given Pregnyl injections every 3 days. I had a blood test today and was told my progesterone level is a bit low so they are starting me on pessaries tomorrow. Has anyone had this happen and still achieved a successful IUI? I am not feeling very positive about this cycle anymore!

I believe a progesterone level of 5 or more indicates ovulation has occurred. On a medicated cycle, my doc prefers to see a progesterone of 20 or above about 5 or so days post-iui or else he will put you on progesterone suppositories to support your uterine lining. 50 sounds fine. The lowest I have ever had was 20, when I only had one follicle before the trigger shot. I have had readings of greater than 90, though, and not gotten pregnant, so the progesterone reading does not indicate one way or the other whether you got pregnant this cycle.
