hi Meredith- I'm on cycle 5 and day 4 meds. I was with you on the January thread. My IUI may be this week or next (I'm hoping for next week) so I may not be exactly within the time frame of this thread so I hope you don't mind if I join you.

oops....this is sad....I said it was my 5th iui and it sounded right, but I went to change my signature and realized it was my 6th iui. So I have attempted 8 and will have 6 off them. One of them resulted in pregnancy. So hopefully this one will too!!! I can't believe I have actually been thru all of this. If only people knew how much we have gone thru.

Hey Meredith- My IUI probably won't be until the 22nd, so I'm not within the date range, but I want to join this thread too! Today is CD 3 for me and I usually don't do my IUI until CD 17, so I still have some time to go. I sure hope this is it for us.....

Hi Meredith-- Seems like we are beginning our treatments at the same time. My cycle started yesterday as well (Geaux Saints!!!) and I start Follistim tomorrow as well. Wishing you much luck on this cycle. Hopefully we will both have good news next month!

As a lifelong Saints fan, I have been through their ups and downs. I told my Dr. today that if the Saints can win the Super Bowl, I can definitely have a baby in 2010!!!

rmc- I love your outlook. I think you are right...this is our turn.

Krista- you are always welcome to hang out with us. I don't really care what your date it. I'm just happy to have an old friend with me.

Surfin- I agree if only people knew sometimes what we go through. I feel like there are times that my brain is fried and I can't take much more. It's scary sometimes. I started dinner one night during my last cycle (was heating up the pan on the stove) forgot about it and stepped away for a moment. Next thing I knew the smoke alarm was going off. Be glad you only got a number mixed up. My poor DS freaked out.

Okay- I'm off to bed now. I have my homework done and I'm done. I started my Masters degree last month. Atleast I have that to keep me busy during the 2ww.

Meredith, I had my B2B DS IUI's (#6!) on the 7th and 8th but I've been following your posts because I feel like we've had similar journeys and a lot of your posts have really resonated with me.

I hope you don't mind me joining even though I don't fall within the time frame!

My husband and I can't afford IVF right now and IUIs are really are only shot for the time being. I just don't understand WHY we can't seem to get pregnant. I'm 34 (not THAT old) and healthy. It seems like with DS you should be able to get pregnant if there aren't any other factors. It's just so frustrating.

Anways to everyone on the thread!

I feel the same way, Nelly. Young and healthy...nothing wrong, so why I am not pregnant yet?! I just keep thinking that MY time is coming! I can't think of anything else to do differently, so this time around I am cutting out my ONE cup of coffee a day, and the little bit of sugar I do eat. I've been reading up on diets for fertility and found out that citrus is good, so I've been eating an orange a day too. I've always been good with eating fruits and veggies, but I guess there is always room for improvement. I am also a natural stress case, so I am trying not to stress (easier said then done!) I'm going to schedule a massage or 2 for the week of IUI. Something's gotta work, right?! I can't think of a dang thing else to do to make this happen!
Good luck to you….I envy that you are already in your 2WW! The hard part is over…now just sit back, relax and try not to stress!

Nelly1- Like I said...the more at the party the more fun to rock out!!! It's always nice to have more cheerleaders on your side. I envy you that you are already in your 2ww. I know how you feel....that always questioning what went wrong, what could I have done differently. I have put it all in God's hands and what will be will be.

Krista- OMG at 88th and Wads there is Standly Lake Massage Therapy 303-425-7298 (behind Old Chicago)....there was this guy...now I can't remember his name but OMG....he is the best. Really tall and skinny. I would always fall asleep when I went to see him. I'm trying to remember his name now. I should call and see if he is still there. If he is I wonder if I have time to get one while I'm there over Mother's Day weekend.....aaaaaahhhhhhhh

AFM- This has been a really light AF. Usually I feel like I need a blood transfusion after my first 2 days. Plus taking a Baby Asprin every day that just makes them even worse. Anyway. Did my first injection with my Gonel F Pen. HOLY COW....it was great. I did the vials last time where you have to reconstitute it. The volume for the Pen is so much smaller. I have a 950 unit pen in 1.5ml. Before I was doing 75 units in 1 ml. It makes a HUGE difference. I hope I don't have brusing this time like I did last time.

Okay off to finish my paper....I hope!!!!

Hey girls, mind if I join in too?! So as you can see in my signature I was not supposed to do IUI #3 this cycle and just enjoy my vacation. BUT, RE decided he didn't want me to "take a break" and instead lowered my dosage of Femera to 2.5mg from 5mg in hopes to slow follicle growth and push my normally scheduled IUI to CD16.(due to the fact we are out of town until CD 15). Needless to say I am packing OPKs and holding my breath to see how this all works out! So the question is will the saying work "3rd times a charm"? I guess we will see! Sending lots of to you girls.

Krista aka the other Cooper's Mommy- Nice to see a familiar face. I also drink one cup of coffee per day, are you giving it up starting on CD 1 or just after your IUI? I have heard something about pineapple helping with implantation. My RE's nurse knows that I work out alot(I do half marathons, yoga, etc), well anyways I consider myself in "good shape" but she wants me to really back off the workouts this month and basically put on some weight maybe?! I see the sense in this, but the workouts are what are keeping me "sane" through all this!

Sara, My Cooper Mom Twin- I am so glad that you are joining our thread!
So, on the working out, I too exercise and try to stay in shape (I too, am a skinny mini.) What I've been told is that when you are TTC you should cut down on your exercise routine to doing just 30 minutes a day and only doing low impact stuff (walking, yoga, swimming, etc.) I used to do the "Beach Body" work-outs with Shaun T and I had to cut that out. Now, my only real exercise is taking Cooper for his walk in the evenings, and then we do longer walks (an hour) on the weekends. I know it's hard, but definitely try to cut back a bit on the working out for now.
I've heard about the pineapple juice....not sure I buy into it though...I've heard mixed reviews.
On the coffee....right now I am down to a half a cup a day. I didn't want to go cold turkey and go all crazy or something. By the time my IUI comes around, I should be able to go off completely. I read that even one caffeine drink a day lowers your fertility by half! Don't know if that is true, but it's worth a try??

Meredith- You're so funny...I love how you know "my neck of the woods." I actually just go to the kaiser facility near my house for massages. I've always had great luck there. They really take their time, no rushing or "half ***" massages. I might even try acupuncture there if this next IUI doesn't work. I'm glad your injections this month are better. I am paranoid to have to do the injectables next...sounds like it's not too bad though.

Come on follicles lets go!!!

Sara ...hope you are having a good little vacation. They say that's when it will happen. Everyone keeps telling me to relax, stop trying and take a vacation.....if they only knew. Maybe this vacation is what you needed to get your system in line for a successful cycle.

I have read about pineapple and I try it every cycle. I give up my pepsi every cycle after IUI. Then I go and get a large one when AF arrives....

Off to bed. Homework is done.
