Positive pregnancy test, 10 days after IUI..now bleeding...Chemical pregnancy??
10 days after IUI bleeding ~ pregnancy test positive ??
I posted yesterday about cramping & spotting started and I was 9 days after IUI... Prior to the spotting I had taken a preg test in the AM and it was a faint but clear positive. I knew this was a "real" positive because I had tested on day 6, 7 & 8 and all were negative. ... This morning I woke up around 3:30am and I was bleeding like an actual period & have cramping... It was mentioned to me that there was the possibility it could be chemical pregnancy and I looked up some info on it and from what I read the positive reading should fade once you get AF. Out of curiousity, I tested this morning and it was a much darker positive and I am totally puzzled about what may be happening here. My guess is I am not pregnant since I have AF, just so puzzled about the pregnancy test line getting darker. Any insight?? I did call the RE this morning and left a message but not sure if they will call back today so just waiting & wondering and not knowing what to think...

Geeeezzz...I wish I had something to say to ease your mind. All I can say, is that I sincerely hope this works out. I'd say a darker line is progress. Hugs and hopes for quick answers!!

Thanks... I am pretty stressed about this not knowing what's going on... I have pretty heavy bleeding but no more crampins... I took another pregnancy test this morning and is still positive... RE finally called back this morning and wants me to go in Tues AM to do a blood test and try to see what the bleeding is about... so now I wait

my bloodwork from this morning came back as "pregnant"... the RE said they look for the hcg level to be at 50 on day 16 and mine is 46.5 on day 12...she said that is excellent...except I am still bleeding pretty good which is a big concern.... they are going to put me on progesterone 200mg 2x a day and I have to go back in 2 days to check the hcg levels to see if they are going up...there is still the threat of miscarriage, but as of today I am still pregnant.

I can't to hear that this is behind you! I am relieved to hear that your BETA was a decent number and big hugs to you that the bleeding stops soon and that little miss eggy sticks.

thank you so much for the encouragement! On a positive note, the bleeding has stopped as of late afternoon yesterday, it stopped as quickly as it started and completely disappeared after some clotting in the morning (sorry for TMI!)... so odd and diconcerting for me, I've never had any bleeding at all in a pregnancy before this.. I started the Prometrium last night, taking 200mg once in the AM & once in the PM until further notice...she gave 3 refills so it will be for a few months at least... waiting somewhat anxiously for more BW tomorrow AM to re-check Beta level....

todays bloodwork results..my Beta level dropped to a 5 from 46... I am no longer pregnant, the RE said the bleeding was a miscarriage.. she also said that we can't try again until until October..at the rate my FSH is rising, I doubt that will happen then either

Prayer is all we have at this point. I know God will bless each of us in his time, not ours.

Oh, Danielle...I'm so very sorry to hear this. I was feeling so positive for you. What an emotional roller coaster!! Big hugs to you and your DH during this disappointing time and I hope you get your BFP as soon as you are ready to start back up again.
