IUI BFNs getting ready for next cycle

Hi everyone! I feel like I'm "off" the timeline as everyone in the January IUI and February IUI forums... so I thought perhaps we could have a thread for those of you who, like me, just got a BFN in the past week or so and are readying for the next cycle to share, vent, etc.

For me, showed up last night, 17dpIUI and 3dpBFN. I think getting was worse than the - my mother and some friends kept telling me how they didn't get their BFP's until days after their missed period, so I guess there was still some hope as long as was late. I didn't think I was holding on to this hope until last night, when I realized my first IUI really didn't work.

Then began about an hour of insanity where I logged on to Patient Portal of my fertility clinic and reread all my and DH's test results and researched them online.... I'm feeling much better this morning and looking forward to calling my clinic to report and schedule the baseline u/s ( I have no cysts this month!)

So if you're in the same boat as me, please feel free to vent here. The one good thing that happened to me this past week: the horrible mood swings that accompanied my prometrium left the day after my BFN, definitely something to celebrate!

and to all!
Love,
JennA

Jenn, I am totally in limbo, I might not be able to do a cycle till next month. I am CD8 today. I have cyst and would be getting U/S and bw on Wednesday, I am hoping I dont have to take BCP! something works soon for me, January bfn was my 2nd IUI.

Hope you are doing better now!

Gl for this cycle!

I am new to all this, but I hear people mentioning cysts. Could someone explain that to me? I had my vaginal u/s last week and I had a cyst in the left ovary, but the doc didn't make anything big out of it. I'm still 3 months or so out from trying for the first IUI. Thank you.

Jenn, it looks like our test days were around the same time. We did our first IUI with Clomid and progesterone about two weeks ago, and Monday (2/6) was 14dpo/dpiui = . DH and I have decided to see another doctor. We've only been seeing our current fertility specialist for about two months, but there are a lot of red flags we've been noticing. Now that we're thinking about getting into injections and maybe IVF down the road, I want to make sure we're not wasting time with a doctor we're not really comfortable with. They can't see us until March though, so we've decided to just NTNP until then, and hopefully we'll be able to try IUI #2 in March.

My timing seems close to you skies blue.
Just got my bfn on Wednesday of this week. Starting injectables on Sunday. Jenn, I was really upset too. For me I started thinking it was working. I was really bloating on the progesterone so let myself get excited. I had a similar reaction as you. I almost didn't believe the hpt and was holding on until I got my period. That made it real. Hopeful for you that next cycle is a Bfp

AF was late for me this month, too. Just like you, I'd tested BFN, but still had hope... I'm never late, so I was hoping this was it! So I completly understand the let down of late AF!

Best of luck to you on your next cycle!!!!

I am new to this (the forum's, not TTC) and looking for some advice/support from people in a similar situation as me as I am sure everyone else in my life is so bored with me talking about how much i want a baby! Like a lot of you i also got a this month. My was early, it actually came 11dpo/IUI and its just heartbreaking to deal with that month after month. My husband and I are in limbo about whether to carry on with IUI or start IVF/ICSI as our RE has told us this is our best chance due to my husband's low sperm count, low motility and low morphology.

I'm sorry for all of you who got this month but am sending you all some

Hi idreamofbabies (and everyone on this thread!)! My most recent (third) IUI was similar to yours in that I got AF super early, 11 days post IUI. I was also in limbo about what to do next. I mean, I know IUIs are cheaper than IVF, but is it worth it to keep breaking your own heart with a treatment that isn't as effective?

Of course, everyone's individual situation is a little different, so that's a personal decision. I spoke to my doctor and we decided to try one more IUI, then move to IVF. BUT I had three cycsts at my last US (2/10/12), so my doctor prescribed three weeks of birth control pills (ugh), then we'll check again and see if March is my last and lucky IUI month. It feels pretty ridiculous to be swallowing BCPs along with prenatal vitamins every morning!

idreamofbabies - you should check out the SART.org website and look up your local providers to see their data regarding IVF success. They don't seem to have any such data for IUIs, but seeing the good chance of IVF at my doctors is helping me stay hopeful. Best of luck to all!

Thank you awaitingthepositive i hope March is your lucky month. My husband and i are going on vacation this month and then have planned consults with a few different RE's to discuss IVF/ICSI, how much it will cost, success rate etc. We have thought about continuing IUI until we can start IVF but were also going to get a second opinion on my husband from a urologist who only deals with male infertility. Were hoping that maybe someone will have an answer and we wont have to go through with IVF just to fulfill our dream of having a baby.

For all of you that are starting IUI soon i just wish you all the best of luck. to all!
