Hi and Hello to Pregnant and Moms post iui with donor sperm

Hello to all ladies who after disapoitment of not being able to carry biological child of DHs are finnaly able to share good news and happiness of being pregnant and being parent.
It's was very hard time to hear that I can't have a baby with my DH. I love him and all his features, personality and physical characteristic. I possibly suffered more then my DH . I wasn't able to calm myself for about two days. I'm still crying thinking that one dream and hope I had will never come true. I knew I wanted a child. We decided to go with DS, but even during the proces of TTC I thought that I will never love those children like I would if they were concevied with DH sperm. God finally decided to give us a children, which we love with full heart. We can't imagine to have different kids then those, which we have. I often forget that they are not biological children of my husband and talk about similarities to him, which somehow makes me happy.

I hope that this thread will be the good place for ladies who were TTC with DS and finnally achieved success. I would like to read more stories and experiences about TTC, being pregnant and bringing up children. I'm also inviting those who still are TTC with donor sperm and are hoping to find answers and help from ladies who experienced with DS.
ALL!!!

Hello to all,

Maryanne: Thank you so much for starting this thread. I am due in 4 weeks and just loving being pregnant. This is our first and there are still some fears at how I will feel after the baby is born. We used DS and it was NOT an easy decision. Like you, my DH was more comfortable with it than I was. Sometimes I worry that I will look at the child and it will hit me all at once, that it's not DH boilogical child. It is still sad sometimes, to know that it won't look like my hubby. But mostly, we just concentrate on the joy of the fact that we will finally have our family in just a few short weeks. Thanks for creating a space where we can share or struggles AND our joys!!

Hi all! Joining in. I'm glad to have a thread where we can all talk about our fears and joys regarding our pregnancies and even parenting. Hubby and I came to the decision to us DS mostly because of financial reasons. We were not in the position to afford IVF so it was either continue to live childless or move forward with DS.

DH has had many more struggles with our decision that I have honestly. I tend to forget that this baby isn't biologically his. Then the subject of genetic testing or something similar comes up with our OB. It brings me back to reality that we don't really know all that much about our donors family history and that is scary. As there is a possibility that DH's sperm could still penerate an egg, he really wanted to use the DS mixed with his. So I guess technically we don't know for sure who the bio father of this baby is. I know that for DH's piece of mind, he prefers to believe that he is the bio father. That then also brings up issues of do we want to know for sure. There's just so much to think about but we're just super happy to finally become the parents that we've wanted to be for so long and love this little boy to pieces regardless.

Glad to be here!

My husband went through the mTESE last week and they did not find any sperm. I was more upset than I can even describe last week. Nevertheless, we moved forward with donor sperm. There are still a lot of uncertainties that I have but it is so reassuring to know others' stories and positive outcomes. Thank you everyone for sharing your stories.

Hi everyone!! Thank you for making a new home for us!! Well, DH and I were diagnosed several years ago with Azoo! Like most, this was a very emotional, hard decision. And I remember the day of our IUI....it was so very hard. I was so scared! Scarrd if we got pg would DH love our baby? Would I secretly have a grudge? Were we doing the right thing? We were VERY lucky and achieved pregnancy the first try! We are SO in love with OUR baby and so grateful! We have ZERO regrets! We are having a little girl!!! We are currently 24 weeks & 5 days pregnant!!!

all. I'm very happy to see not just and Moms but also ladies who whould like to share current stories of TTC and get support on our thread .
Tobian, NNN, Babywanted, I can't belive that you are so advanced with pregnancies. It feels like you just announced BFP yesterday.
Do you all know what moments of our lives we remember the best??? The days which influenced rest of each of us lives. Those could be positive and negative experiences. I remember every detail of the day when my DH had mTESE and when we heard the results. I felt like somebody close to me died. I also remember every detail of my children birth, which is 180degrees opposite experience. The funny thing is that both make me cry for different reason.
I wish you happy long weekend and

Hi everyone...I really hope no one minds if I stick my head in to say hello. I'm sorry if anyone feels kicked out of the other group. I just knew this had been successful with our Azoo group and it has been a blessing to me to have that place to talk about pregnancy/babies without the fear of it hurting others. I think after fertility struggles we are ultra-sensitive to our pregnancies and babies possibly being painful for others so we tend to hold back and don't feel free to share as much.

This group also provides an opportunity for those who are TTC to have a place to come and see successes, which we all know we need to see when we are TTC but sometimes need to choose when we read about them. These were my only reasons for wanting this group formed...there is a different kind of support needed once pregnant after using a donor than when TTC and this group provides an opportunity for no one to have to hold back their joys and fears about being pregnant. I know when I was pregnant I hated to complain about anything (donor aspect, feeling sick, hurting, etc.) because I felt like someone would tell me I should just be grateful to be pregnant.

Right now, I'm in the weird place of having a child after using donor sperm, so I can relate to you all on that, but also on a painful TTC journey so sometimes it's hard for me to read about pregnancy stuff. So, I'll try to check in and post when I can because I feel a sisterhood with you all and definitely don't want to lose that because we are in a different place on this journey.

I just don't want there to be a split between the two groups or for there to be hard feelings. No one is kicked out of the other group. There is definitely value in what we have to share here for those TTC and we also have a valuable perspective for those either deciding to use a donor or going through cycles on the other thread. I just thought this was a solution that could meet the needs of both those who want to freely share about pregnancy/baby/children and those who are going through a tough time TTC, who definitely want to still share your joys but some days it's harder to do than others. I'm sure you all can understand that.

Sending lots of love and hugs to you all Can't believe some of you are so close to delivery already!!

Hell, how is everybody. It's a little quiet here but I guess it's not suprising. After you got you don't need to worry so much about getting . The attention is turned into baby. It's definitely much more pleasant feeling.
Honestly, I can't wait to see more members of this thread. It would sign that iui with DS is a highly successful pathway to achieve .
I would like to see some introduction posts from ladies who are just reading and normally not posting, so at least we know how many was able to carry a baby after iui with DS
Hope all babies are doing great

NNN2011, I just can't belive your due date is so close. But I also can't belive that my younger one is 3 months old and I'm back to work too. How do you plan your delivery; medicated, non-medicated other plans?

I am hoping for au natural. We have a doula. I'm just hoping I'm strong enough and that there is no need for intervention. I'm not crazy about a hospital birth, but I'm too chicken to birth at home. lol

NNN2011, having birth at home is really something but in my opinion it's too risky. In the past babies were born at home simply b/c there was no other option, but now being at the hospital just gives higher protection to moms and babies during birthing process. On the other hand, I think reducing amount and strength of meds lowers chances for any side effects to the baby. I planned to wait with any meds till I can't stand it anymore. Thinking about any even minimal side effects and thinking that it's normal humans reproduction process, which gives us life, made me strong and I was able to deliver without meds, but I admit it was extremly hard, I was ready to give up. I guess I also have high pain tolerance. On the other hand, pain is a warning sign that something traumatic or abnormal occurrs to our body, but in the case of birth that major stress to the body is for the good reason, so in this case pain is just pain.
I hope the thoughts, which helped me o deliver without meds will also help you.
The best wishes to you. Have easy and healthy birth of you baby boy.

I thought I would join in and share my story!

We had you use DS after the mTESE showed no sperm for DH. At first we didn't even think about the DS route and I just thought I would live childless. Then one day we were out somewhere I was watching a little girl and my DH looked at me and said "I want to have a baby with you. There has to be a way. Maybe donor sperm." So we started looking into DS. We went to one RE in early 2010 that I HATED! He was such a jerk! We ended up switching RE's to one 2 hours away but we both LOVE him!

We conceived our son after our first medicated IUI with DS. I felt so blessed that it happened so quickly! Unfortunately, my pregnancy was not an easy one and my son was born with severe IUGR at 25 weeks weighed just 15.5 ounces. 2011 was a very difficult year for us. My son has his share of problems from being born too early, but I am so thankful he survived.

I want so badly to have another child and to be able to carry to full term. We are scared to death about having another micro preemie, and the doctors having given us about a 15-20% chance that it will happen again. However, they think it is okay that we try again.

My first IUI for #2 was in August and it was a BFN. I was quite upset because I guess I thought it would work the first time again. Silly me. I am currently 8dpiui from my second IUI. for a BFP this round!
