Smile Hello

My name is Kim, i'm 27 years old and my husband and I have been married for 3 years next week! We've been TTCing for 23 cycles (17 charting, 6 non-charting). I have unexplained infertility, and I am currently on my third cycle of clomid and will probably be undergoing IUI in the next couple of months if we are unsuccessful. I'm looking for a board to come to for support, as well as to offer my support to others that need it. Thank you

Kim - If you are looking for support you couldn't have picked a better place to find it! The ladies here are so wonderful at giving encouragement, information and at giving an unbiased ear.

Good luck with the clomid and I hope you won't have to go any further.

I have been posting here for about a week but have not introduced myself really. First of all, I think you women are really wonderful. It's been helpful to just hear about other people's IF journeys. It's funny to be truly rooting for people I have never met in real life, but I find myself doing that and hoping for the very best for all of you and of course BFPs.

My signature outlines what we have done, been through, etc. in trying to have a baby. I am older and did not meet my soul mate 'til I was 36 so we started late. I got another today and will be meeting with the RE on Monday. We were (and are) very sad about that. We will only be able to do two IVF cycles, maybe only one.

Funny thing is: at this stage in my life and living through 3 1/2 years of ttc with its disappointments and joys (our baby), God may be preparing me (I can't speak for my DH) for not having a baby if it comes to that. I read somewhere where this woman said that what gave her comfort was the fact that she knew she tried everything she could. That to me makes sense. I am not throwing in the towel yet and I still have hope and faith that we will have a baby, but I am also not in la la land either. I am 40 and I am not Melinda Gates, so there you go.

Here's wishing for BFPs for all you ladies and happy, healthy

P.S. to my earlier post

Do you think it is bad luck to be realistic about the prospects of successful ivf/iui?? Are we supposed to be insanely positive all the time? I always feel guilty or something about even hinting that this could not work, like I'm jinxing myself....

Heart Hi!

I joined tonight. I've been looking at this and reading heaps of the threads for 2 days now and It's made me realise that I'm not alone. I have just done my first IUI on monday and am trying to deal with the 2ww ! I feel positive but at the same time I am scared to get my hopes up. It's so good to read how other people are dealing with it and I have learned what to expect if this doesn't work. It's frustrating because my obgyn wont go into detail about the next steps until we get to them.

I just want to say, Marilynn, Raj and Sarah!!! This is a wonderful place to find support and information! I want to wish you all good luck and for your future.

Marilynn: It is completely normal to feel like "this" is not going to work. After so many failures it is very easy to feel defeated by IF. So don't feel bad for feeling that way. I've always been taught to say what you want, not what you feel. But even I have moments where doubt creeps in. Anyway, I just want you to know that you are not alone.

Joined Last Week

Hello,

I just joined last week after needing to find someone who is going through what I am. I am in my first ivf cycle and had 4 embabies transferred on Wed. So, I still have about a week and a half left. It is weird knowing that you have potential living beings in you....

What does everyone feel about caffeine intake??? Cut it out completely????

Thanks! Julie

First, julieh1 - I am glad you found us and I hope you find this forum as helpful as I have.

Second: "What does everyone feel about caffeine intake??? Cut it out completely????"

I tried to cut it out completely, but I use to drink several cups of coffee a day. I was sooo unproductive without any coffee, so I have one cup in the morning and that seems to be enough to get me going throughout the day. Every once in awhile I try to go a day without any cups of coffee, but it's the same thing - Lazy, Lazy, Lazy lol.

Hi, I'm LisaMarie. Husband & I have been trying for over a year on our own. Husband had 1 semon analysis exposing very low morphology. They have not diagnosed me with a reason to be infertile I just have been. Oh, I am 37yrs old though. Nice huh? I had my first IUI Sept 13th with ovulation induction (injectables) & 4 mature follicles. I have done two HPTs that were negative, one was done today on day 10.

Nice to meet everyone, It is a great forum, glad it is here. BTW, what does BFP mean?
