Hey ladies, just joined from the land downunder (Australia) today after keeping an eye out for about 2 weeks. I am a bit shy.
In the 2ww and going crazy, reading everything is sight, feeling every movement, pinch etc in my body and trying to figure out if it is normal etc. My story is pretty much what you see in my signature. Good to meet you all.

Hi, I'm brand-spanking new here. I read these things all the time, but have never registered before. My dh and I have been married just over 5 yrs, have been TTC pretty much that whole time. We are on our 2nd IUI (first one was with clomid, 2nd with tamoxifen) Took tamoxifen 30mg days 5-9, was closely monitored with ultrasounds, had 18mm (largest) follicle on day 15, HCG trigger shot that night, IUI on day 17(3-24-07). I was due to greet Flo on April 7th, so I took an early result test on the 6th which was a BFN, started spotting (pale pink) on the 8th (day 32), spotted light brown (sorry if TMI) on the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th(today---day 36). Took another HPT today, it was also a BFN! My cycles are almost always 30-31 days. I called my RE's office & talked to a nurse. They want me to "just wait and see" 'till MONDAY! Has anyone here been in this situation?
Me-28yrs, DH 32yrs TTC since 2002. slight endometriosis, low count(but not too low to work), low motility, low morphology |

Hello Ladies,
This is my first post. I have been lurking for a few weeks and decided to join in. You all seem like a very well informed, great group of women. I am hoping to gain some insight and maybe provide some as well (if possible!). I wish you call lots of luck!

Hi
I just registered on this site today so this is my first post. My husband and I have been TTC for 4+ yrs now ever since we lost our son at 22wks pg. I have been trying to figure out what the problems is for 1+yrs now, but it wasn't until a few short months ago that the drs finally gave up on me and went on to my husband. To my surprise after a sperm test we found out that his count was <10million, not good, so after a meeting with our dr last week we are now embalking on the journey of assisted reproduction. As you can imagine my husband is not happy about the results and is currently not really all that interested in helping me determine what to do next, any one out there with advice on how to bring him around. I guess the only good things is that he isn't fighting me on what I have suggested so far, basically his response is let me know when you need me. Anyway I have been thinking of trying IUI first, but haven't found any really promising information out about it. Anyone out there with any advice for me or stories of their experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and sorry for the long message Tracey23 |

Hi Tracy23. My DH has male factor infertility also. He has low everything!! Like you, I don't really mention it too much and he lets me figure out the treatments myself. I guess its just how men deal with things. Whereas I like to talk about it until I'm exhausted!
Anyway, I don't really have any advice for you as we haven't started our IUI treatments yet (had to find a different RE) but just wanted to say . I've been on this sight for a couple of weeks now and its great support and actually lots of fun. ![]()

Newbie from Singapore
Hello,
I am a newbie. Got pregnant on my first IUI trial last Sept, but the baby didn't make it after 2 months of conceiving. Sent the baby's sample for checking and found out that it had DS gene. So, perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. Well, now I am ready to give a second try. Just wonder if anyone know of a good fertility doctor in Chicago. Found one medical center " Fertility Center illinois". Does anyone knows about this place. I would appreciate any good recommendation. Many Thanks. |

Chloita, I've done it twice. My first IUI was in Feb, we were all pretty sure it wouldn't work , cuz the Clomid made my uterine lining too thin. The second one was in March, and although I am now at 24dpo, we still don't know if it worked. My RE wants me to POAS one more time tomorrow morning before coming in again. They are not that bad...the situation is almost identical to a pap smear, but the pain is worse. It's over quickly, though.
Here's what happens at our appts: My DH goes to the lab and collects his "specimen." Then they put it in a centrifuge to separate the good spermies from the bad ones. The good ones go into a liquid that looks kind of pink. An hour after he makes his deposit, we go into an exam room, and just like a pelvic exam, I undress the bottom half of me and cover up with a sheet. The doc and a nurse come in with a big syringe with my husband's name on it, they attach it to a catheter, open up my cervix just like a pelvic exam, then thread the catheter all the way up into my uterus (that's the part that hurts!) both times, I said "ouch," out loud and squeezed my DH's hand. Then they take it out after about 30 seconds of uncomfortableness (that may not be a word), they set an egg (tee-hee) timer for 20 min (but I lay there for at least 30--don't tell). Then they tell me to test in 14 days and they leave the room. |

"Ouch"
Thank you so much!!! you are too funny! my husband and I were laughing about the "ouch" part. Not that we're laughing at the situation but the way you explained it was very good! Thank you.
I wish you all the luck this month, please let me know. I'll post when I have my IUI, it should be in two weeks. |

Hello everyone, I've found it comforting to read everyone's posts and would like to join the group. I'm 35 and DH39. For some strange reason, I stopped getting periods about a year ago--apparently a hypothalamic-pituitary problem. Before that I had always been very regular. On top of that, DH has a Y chromosome anomaly and is completely sterile. So we are using donor sperm. I had a double IUI last week (Apr 13 and 14). So I'm now 5 days into my 2ww. I don't feel anything except EXTREME bloating---I feel like I'm going to explode! I'm guessing it's b/c of the progesterone suppositories I have to take (?). Anyhow, I'm trying to stay positive and am praying for us all!

Hi Designdiva 32 thanks for the reply. It's amazing really how many women find out that they are the ones who have the fertility problems and they find a way of moving on, but with men you would think that their world had collapsed. Anyway I finally found out today that we have an appointment at a new fertility clinic in May so hopefully we will get the ball rolling soon and start our IUIs. In the meantime I have t ake dth my 3 furry babies just like you (2 dogs 1 cat), sometimes I wonder how I will cope with children and animals, my dogs seem to think they are human. Anyway, best wishes to you and DH and hopefully we'll see some good news from you soon.

Hello Ladies,
Like Maddy, I have been looking at this board for the past month and finally felt the need to register as I felt like a "stalker". My name is Nikki. My DH and I have been married for almost 7 years . He has 3 DD's from a previous marriage and just had a DGB (darling grandbaby) on Monday. We have been TTC since '04. DH has been through 2 VR's and this last one (3/06) seems successful. We started seeing an RE last month (March) due to not getting our . As you can see from below, we are now trying IUI. So far I have unexplained IF however the doctor mentioned fibroids (don't believe they are too bad as my HSG came out normal) but won't know about the extent of them until I have a thorough u/s.My prayer is that each one of us gets that . So

hello from the Rockies
Hi,
My DH and I have been together 13 years. TTC 2+, we did have a m/c in 1997. Last month we finally visited RE. So, now my husband SA has been found "normal". And now, I'm feeling him pull away. Like he's giving me space to get myself "fixed". Like this is something we ladies can control. SHG found 2 uterine fibroids and a few uterine polyps. But RE says we'll proceed with HSG and IUI anyway. Then if it fails to consider surgery in at the end of May. I haven't any friends or family to talk with. So, you're forum seems a very welcome respite. I'm looking forward to reading others courageous stories of persistence and BFP results. Today is my CD12 and I'm hoping for LH surge, so we can HSG/IUI on Monday, and second IUI Tuesday. Best of luck to us all! |

Introducing Myself
I've never posted on any website, forum or blog. The only reason that I decided to now is that I feel like I don't have anyone to talk to about how this "process".
We started trying to conceive in October 2003, and after the first month, . I thought, what could be easier? After seeing the heart beat at 9 weeks I told everyone we were pregnant, it ended in a miscarriage 2 weeks later . I was devastated. I still save the ultrasound picture. After that, my cycle has never been the same. My doctor put me on 5 cycles of Clomid to try and regulate things. I ovulated, but no pregnacy. I switched doctors and they ended up finding polyps on an HSG. I was scheduled to have a lap, but my period never came. I tested, and.... . I now have a 2 1/2 year old son that is the love of my life (other than DH). We decided to try for #2 in August. Again, my period was irregular and after 75 days, I finally went back to the doctor. She told me after going off the pill I developed a cyst and was not ovulating. I am on my 3rd cycle of Clomid (100 mg), HCG and Progesterone. I had my HCG shot 18 days ago, but I got another . I stopped Progesterone 6 days ago, but I still don't have my period . Who would have thought I would be so upset about not getting my period?I think I am going to try on my own next month. These hormones are really getting to me and are very hard on our marriage. How do I stay positive? |

I am a newbie...just joined about a week or so ago. I am so glad I found this community because I have been feeling really down about being diagnosed with unexplained fertility. My DH and I just completed our 2nd unsuccessful IUI cycle.
I have reached a point now where I want to do about 2 more IUI cycles, and then do just 1 IVF cycle. I am also going to cleanse my body to the point where I don't put anything in it but pure air (just kidding) . But seriously I do need to clean up my diet, because I have heard that the things you eat (i.e. fruits, veggies, whole grains) can also help aid the fertility process. So ladies, again I am glad to be here, and I look forward to growing with this fertility process and hopefully come out on top with a little one in tow ![]()
