New to all this

I am new to the board. Have been reading through it all week. Finally decided to join and tell my story. I am finding that it is really good to share.

My husband and I have been trying for 4+ years. IN May 2006 we started looking for help. Used Clomid for 6 months nothing really happened. Went to a specialist, had lots of test done. The only test that they were concerned about was my FSH was 14 and I had one tube blocked. Of course they weren't sure if it was a true blockage or a spasm. Everything else was good. My Dr thought I might be ovulating early based on temp charts rather than short cycle. My cycles run every 24-26 days.

So just this month we started Clomid again (100mg), day 10 start daily ultra-sounds, had 2 good follies yesterday which was day 16 (15mm and 19mm). Had a HCG shot yesterday and will go in for my first IUI today at 4:30. Little nervous and excited. Just hoping that the trigger and timing are right. Then I start on progesterone 2 days after my IUI. So, from the looks of it I should know something in 2 weeks.

Please continue sharing your stories or add comments.

new to the game

Hi All,
Stumbled on this forum tonight as I can't sleep thinking of all things that may or may not happen in the next few weeks. My DH and I have been ttc for 5+ yrs. In January 07, we decided to see one more specialist...I was diagnosed with PCOS and have undergone every test under the sun in the last 4 months. Blocked fallopian tubes are also contributing to the problem. ER wanted us to try ivf which we were originally convinced we would never do. Well, here we are. I am on day 4 of Lupron and will take my supression check on 5/2, if all is well stim starts on 5/4. This is all so new and I am so anxious, scared and cautiously excited. Felt like I have been all alone with my emotions for so long. Finding this forum tonight is like a big sigh of relief--finally people who really know what I am experiencing!

Another Newbie!!

Hi, I'm Cayla and another newcomer to this forum. My DH and I have been ttc for 4 yrs w/out any luck. I have one daughter from a previous marriage and he has no children due to a slightly low count. When we decided to get serious about trying - just after my 32nd birthday in Dec. - I went thru several tests and all appeared to be normal except I do not know when or if I was ovulating so my RE decided that Letrozole w/IUI would be our best first option. We have since gone thru 2 IUI cycles with no success and should have our next IUI within the week. Right now the thought of IVF scares me a little, so we are very hopeful that we can conceive before we come to making that decision. I think this forum will help me tremendously - it seems that most everyone around me thinks that we need to just relax and it will happen. I think you just have to experience IF before you can truly understand the toll it takes on you and your relationship.

I am looking forward to being able to share with people that can relate to what I am thinking and feeling.

Hello ~ don't worry you will pick right up on all of the abbreviations. But ask if you don't know - we were all new to them at one time.

Scroll up to the top where it says 'user cp', click on that, then select 'edit signature' from the left side menu. Scroll on down to the area that looks like when you post a topic or reply to one - fill in what you'd like in your signature and save it, and VOILA you're done!

Hope that helps!

Hi, my name is Jody. My husband Anton and I were hoping to do our first IUI this month, but my HSG showed my tubes might be blocked so I am waiting to have a laperoscopy. If they are blocked we will be moving to IVF.
Good luck to everyone hope to see lots of s!!!

I need some advice

I've been off the pill since August, developed a cyst and had irregular periods. On last month's ultrasound, they found my cyst had resolved, so I decided to go off Clomid this month (it made me crazy). I had an HSG done on Tuesday and have had spotting ever since. I called my doctor's office today and they said that because my lining was so thin (a 5) on my ultrasound on Thursday (which was day 9) and my follicle was only a 6, that it was normal for me to have spotting. She also said that I probably won't ovulate this month. She said I'll just have to "put up with the spotting" until they induce my period on day 30. Does that seem right? My doctor wants to start IUI next month while on Clomid (my favorite). Does it seem that she's rushing things or should I be grateful that I don't have to wait a full year? Should I just have stayed on the Clomid? I'm very frustrated.

Note: I have a 2 1/2 year old DS (conceived after a m/c and 11 month of trying, conceived off Clomid).

Hello everyone,
I found out yesterday that I have PCOS. I have to say it wasn't a shock but a huge let down. I want to have pretty babies with my husband!
While researching PCOS and fertility I found this forum. I felt very alone after hearing the doctors diagnosis. Reading your stories has changed that feeling. Thanks to everyone for being here and sharing your stories.
Kudos and baby wishes to you all!
