Hi,

I'm new here. My dh and I started ttc 8/07 and quickly learned that something wasn't quite right. My cycles were very long sometimes up to 70 days. I tried a few rounds of clomid (no response) with my ob/gyn and then was referred to a RE. 2/08 the RE has me try clomid again and I had no response. So 3/08, he had me try a combo of clomid/follistim with progesterone support starting 3dpiui. My first IUI was 3/29/08 with 1 mature follie. I started spotting yesterday and it has continued today. I'm pretty sure AF is ready to show cause this is how it normally goes down. RE wants me to hold out until Friday and take a test. Not sure why I keep spotting 5 days before AF is due, but RE doesn't seem concerned. So that is my story and I'm looking forward to being part of the board.

I spot before AF too and just recently was diagnosed with endometriosis. I can't be sure that the endo is causing the spotting, but it's a possibility. Unfortuntaly, the only way to diagnose endo is with laproscopic surgery.

Hi, I'm Karol, we have been ttc for 5.5 years.

We've had 5 cycles with Clomid 4 of which were IUI and no success. A year ago my doctor wanted to start injections. I wanted to wait. I got pregnant on my own and miscarried at 8 weeks. Now 6 months later, I'm ready to hit the ground running and I gave myself my first injection of Follistim last night. Here we go......

Red face

Hi everyone!

My name is Krista, and I am from Maryland. I am 29 and my husband is 28 (going on 29).
We've been ttc for 2 years. I had some suspicions that I might struggle with infertility because it took my parents 8 years to conceive, because of my mom's irregular cycles (boy, they sure know so much more today than they did back then!!!). We went through our testing and mine all came back normal (other than possibly having a "touch" of endometriosis since I have painful periods). My husband's tests showed slightly decreased strict morphology (ranging from 6% to 11%, when 12%-15% is normal).

Mostly, I think that it just wasn't the right time for us to have a baby. I had my first IUI on 4/2, and am waiting for my first Beta on 4/16 --- Hopefully it will be the right time now!

Hi Krista. Have you had a lap to diagnose your endo? If you don't get your bfp this month you might want to ask your doctor about doing a lap. I was just diagnosed with endo and the doctor was able to remove it during the lap. He says I will be more fertile in the next 6-9 months. The only way to diagnose endo is unfotunately with the lap and it's difficult to know the severity based on symptoms alone. I had no symptoms other than spotting(which may or may not be due to the endo) and I have mild endo.

Hi Lovingwife,

No, I haven't had any tests or procedures to diagnose endometriosis. The Dr. said that he thinks that I might have a "touch" of it (a "touch" is what he said), but that he didn't think it was severe enough (if it is there at all) to warrant any action.

Hi! my name is Tamika and I am new to this forum. We have been ttc since 2005. We did 3 rounds of clomid, and 2 rounds of clomid/hcg trigger with IUI before our RE was deployed to Iraq! We are now with a new RE. We started clomid on 3/21. Bravelle started on 3/25. IUI on 3/29. Progesterone supp on 3/30. I am at the end of my 2ww and it is killing me. I did a preg test this am and it was negative. I know it was a little early. I am scheduled for my lab preg test on 4/14. Wish me luck!

Tamika

I guess it's time to introduce myself on this thread! My name is Melissa and DH and I have been TTC for three years. This year my OBGYN performed a lap and found scar tissue that bound my right ovary and tube behind my uterus and referred me to UCONN Fertility clinic.

By some miracle, both tubes are open but my RE says my best shot will be from the perfectly fine left side. He's put me on Clomid which I'll be starting this month and combining it with a healthy dose of !! Our first IUI will be scheduled as soon as that OPK tells us it's time.

I'm very excited because we finally have a plan of action. I finally have answers and hope!

Hi All-
My dh and I have been ttc for 3 years. After 5 mths Clomid + 3 failed inseminations, we're starting GonalF injections tomorrow! I'm kind of nervous because I don't handle needles very well. Even with the triggers shots before, I couldn't do it myself. And I've even passed out at the fertility clinic a couple times. My dh has handled giving me the trigger shots before so I'm just hoping the GonalF ones in the belly don't hurt too bad.

I guess they'll be monitoring me by u/s and blood every 2 days because we don't want to create too many follies. My two sis-in-laws have multiples and we don't want to break the family record, you know? http://www.ivf-infertility.com/phpBB...icon_smile.gif Although if I create too many follies the insurance company will convert the cycle to an IVF which would be exciting!

Anyhow, if anyone else is starting shots this week, maybe we can keep in touch and compare notes. Thanks!

New to site

Hi there
I just joined in. My DH and I have had 3 miscarriages and we have one amazing son who is 18 months old. He is the joy of our lives. We suffered 2 miscarriages, on in 3/05 and another in 6/05. Both times we had great, strong heartbeats but miscarried at 6 1/2 weeks the first time and 8 weeks the second time. We then sought out a new OB and RE. We started with clomid and IUI and our first cycle we concieved our son who was born 10/06.
We became pg on our own 8/07 and miscarried at 10 1/2 weeks. We went through 3 cycles of Letrozole and HCG injections with no BFP. Took a month off and went on birth control and now had our first clomid/IUI cycle and are in the 2 ww period. agony!
It is so nice to know I am not alone, I am so happy to find you!

Hi Ladies,
I just recently started the whole IF process. My husband finished battling cancer 8 months ago. He was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. We battled it and WON!!! So now we are onto our new challenge- Having a baby. Due to chemo and radiation we can't use his current sperm, so we are going to use the sperm we had frozen before chemo & radiation. I am currently in the process of finishing all the testing before we can move on to my first IUI. So far everything has been normal. My progesterone was a little low and my HSG will be next week. It looks like I will have my first IUI at the end of May. I am soooo excited and optimistic.

This is a great forum and I am so happy to be part such an amazing group of women.

I am sending to you all!
